Dolours, Wow, thank you. I couldn't find any articles which contained this information. We'll see what happens.
The title coredemptrix does not sit easy with me. The prefix "co" traditionally emplies partnership and Our Lord Jesus Christ is man's only Redeemer.
There are three titles which are probably going to be formally given to Our Lady They are Co-Redemptrix Mediatrix of All Graces and Advocate I guess I am at a loss as to how to explain it, Aiden It is something to be taken on Faith Certainly Our Lady’s role in redemption history is both necessary and irreplaceable by anyone else As Christ’s Mother Daughter of God the Father And Spouse of the Holy Spirit It is a concept that is slowly being revealed to my soul as I pray the rosary every day
AidanK, Maybe the following will help, http://www.fifthmariandogma.com/articles/are-you-afraid-of-mary-co-redemptrix/ .
For an understanding of this great mystery I will refer to you a small book that Dr. Mark Miravalle, S.T.D. professor of Theology and Mariology at Stubenville in a book titled MARY Coredemptrix Mediatrix Advocate forwarded by Papal Theologian Luigi Cardinal Ciappi. "The Second Vatican Council tells us: "The books of the Old Testament describe the history of salvation, by which the coming of Christ into the world was slowly prepared. The earliest documents, as they are read in the Church and are understood in light of a further and full revelation, bring the figure of a woman, Mother of the Redeemer, into a gradually clearer light. Consider in this light, she is already prophetically foreshadowed in the promise of victory over the serpent which was given to our first parents after their fall into sin (Genesis 3:15) "I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; he she shall crush your head and you shall lie in wait for her heal". The "woman" foreshadows the mother of the redeemer, who intimately shares in the same struggle and same victory as the future redeemer against the serpent of evil . This book is a great resource if you want to understand this mystery of faith. It will build upon the first few sentences of this study if interested in understanding of this mystery. I had the opportunity to listen to Dr. Marivalle speak on this at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine in Lacrosse, Wisconsin a few years back.
Ive always viewed Our Blessed Mother as being the first and the most precious tabernacle. I like to meditate upon this
