I remember as a child saying to my dad and mum, after a Sunday Mass, before the new order Mass, 'why can't we answer the priest at this particular time'. I don't remember what I was referring to at the time but I remember the answer and it was something like,......'oh that is what the alter boys answer and we are not to make an answer, in the congregation'.

I loved the Latin mass as a child.

Of course the reason I loved the Mass as a child, is the same reason I love the Mass today, it is because I was and I am in the presence of Our Lord, at His Birth, Death and Resurrection at the consecration and then as I receive Him and I am filled with an awe at the Mass that is and has never been repeated in other daily events, no matter how grandiose!!

As a child, when the Mass changed to the new order mass, some of the new proceedings, I found to be wonderfully inspiring, giving me so much knowledge to enhance my faith, some other changes in the Mass took some time for me (as a child to get used to), especially as I really loved some aspects of the Latin mass, but the Joy of mass never changed for me.

I remember riding my bicycle to mass in the mornings before school and being elevated with a spirit that I could not explain at the time but I enjoyed each day with such a passion even though things were not good in other areas of my life.

As a child I trusted no matter what changes took place, because I was there for Jesus and Jesus was always there for me, (through all the changes).

Now as an adult I trust like the child within me.

Jesus is there in the Mass, like He said, He would always be, and no matter what happens, I want to be always there for Him!

Regarding to your last comment Mac, I must reply one last time just to make sure that there is no blur on my picture here.

MDM? No, thank you, I am fine with my dentist who lives in Portugal who is not a prophet, as far as I know. I stand with my two feet only in the fully approved apparitions and revelations of the Roman Catholic Church but I have also one foot in Garabandal. That’s enough for me.

Traditionalist? I like that word but I was born after CVII, I have never been to a Latin Mass, which I admire its beauty and greatness, but I grew up with the Novus Ordo and I live well with that if celebrated with honor and respect. The Novus Ordo can be great and beautiful as well if we leave the hippie and the new age stuff outside the Temple. I like particularly the way that the British Catholic priests celebrate the Novus Ordo Mass, there are some little details that makes a big improvement when compared with the way that they do in the South of Europe.

Sedvacantist? I don’t follow or belong to any religious movement, group or sect inside or outside the Church. The only thing I belong to is my humble Catholic local parish. How could I be a sedvacantist if the Chair of Peter is not empty? That’s a nonsense. I have two living popes, one is reigning and the other is praying. The Keys of the Kingdom are safe, I have no doubts about that.

Good bye again brothers! Watch and pray.

Yes...but most common people had no idea what was going on. And it is a true statement. By allowing the mass to be said in all languages...it changed the playing field. I never said the Trident Mass didn't do its duty. It was the right prayer at the right time. When the world was separated, it gave it unification. But as the world became smaller...the new mass was needed to open the Holy Sacrament of Mass to all people. Latin is good and I love the beauty and reverence of the Mass. But it needed to be expanded for the common Christian.

Pope Francis stated "we cannot look at the past with the criteria of the present". Hopefully i got the quote right :)

One last thing...i miss alter rails. Kneeling during sacred times...eventhough through example we can change that. I believe Eucharist in the hand has been a failure...but i accept it. And finally, I wish we had more incense during our rituals... like the olden days.

And most of all I miss being that kid on that bike going to church :)

Parsing I too had many doubts about Pope Francis but I now perceive him as walking on the edge of a cliff calling the sinners home. We are living in strange times. Every time I pray a rosary I remember Pope Francis. May the Lord always protect him. I think he is giving hope to those who are trapped in serious sin. They are hearing the call of love not condemnation.

Don't try to cause trouble and confrontation on the forum over well established minor points.

Raymond Arroyo was at the USCCB meeting prior to that election and spoke with the bishops. He has made this point on TV and in print. No, I'm not going to look it up for you. You're a big boy and hopefully can handle that yourself.

How an I causeing trouble Brian? Im not the one who threw half the US Bishops under the bus with an unnamed EWTN source, you did that, not me!

Brian , since last Spring you have used so many secular liberal news sources to prove Pope Francis was changing Church Doctrine, time and again you did. Many here fought against your claims and your source material. the media got it wrong once again and you and others were tired of this response from US. I noticied the other day you posted Fr Zs' article on fighting against the media pushing this liberal agenda against the Church and we must fight these press accounts. But at the sametime you use the same press accounts to bash Pope Francis...

Take a break from it sir, ive done so myself lately.

Im not gonna search EWTN archives to support your argument. I f you cant provide a link or general area to look than don't make such damming statements!

  9. I too see this Padraig. That is why I posted what I did about the 2030 Agenda. What the Pope is SAYING and what the AGENDA is saying ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. God have mercy! He is being led down the wrong path with the UN as a lamp. His handlers are handing him false info. THAT IS FOR SURE.
I LOVE THIS POPE!! I see such great things in this man. May God use him and change what needs to be changed and use evil for good....only a MIRACLE can get us out of this MESS. MOTHER!!! HELP US!!

You sure seem to obsess over my posts. I don't know whether to take that as a compliment or something more sinister.

Regardless, I really don't care to continue this silliness with you so I'll add you to my ignore list and you can do the same with me.

    Peace,
    Brian

Stooping to rest cherry-picking cases upon the "credentials" of Fr. Z. delivered the objectivity knockout punch for me some time ago IJP!
And re the obsessing over posts ... hmmnn ... fairly clear the reverse is true even though one is advised that one has (allegedly) been added to an "ignore list":rolleyes::rolleyes:.

Its strange how some types not only "cannot abide" but also want "to annihilate" their naysayers from consciousness as well (n)(n)(n).

Conchita (Concepcion Cabrera de Armida) teaches us how to love the Church:
"To love the Church is not to criticize her, not to destroy her, not to try to change her essential structures, not to reduce her to a humanism, a horizontalism and to the simple service of a human liberation.
To love the Church is to cooperate with the work of Redemption by the Cross, and in this way obtain the grace of the Holy Spirit come to renew the face of this poor earth, conducting it to its consummation in the design of the Father's immense love."

In addition to some quasi anti-papal comments on the forum, there have also been conspiracy posts (ie. FEMA death camps, etc) which I find odd at this place.

I don't keep up with the debate over the Tridentine Rite as well as I used, but as far as I recall Pope Benedict gave each and every priest in the entire world leave to say the Latin mass as and when they pleased without recourse

..to the permission of the local Bishop and as far as I know Pope Francis has not revoked this.

Despite this many Bishops in disobedience to Rome have still not allowed this

Truth reveals the path to God. How can we tolerate anything that makes us lose our way?
