This has been so good conversation! I've enjoyed it very much and got a lot of inspiration of it!! Same feelings, same fears, same hopes.....and same Fathers.

  2. Oh thank you Adoremus! It makes perfect sense. After having done the Novena to the Holy spirit I just have this great thirst to progress. I seriously have been bogged down in a rut. Grieving the death of my spiritual Father and also my prayer partner of 23 years is dying. No one on earth knows me better except for my husband, and I'm feeling forlorn and an orphan. Its time to put my big girl panties on and suck it up and move forward. I don't mean to be crass, but I've been sitting in a fog until this NOVENA!!

I also am planning on going to Fr. Yozefu (Joseph) B. Ssemakula's conference in Denver. He wrote the book 'Healing of Families'.

I do need to do the Consecration again. My discipline has flown out the window and I must get my life in order again. Gail and I were laughing the other day about our 'certain spots' in our home that we let get messy. When they are a mess it shows us how we are feeling inside...and when it is clean we know we feel better! Its a girl thing....lol :p I tend to cause havoc when I am not focused--and that is not where I want to be....

You can never do the consecration to many times!!(y)

I really recommend trying Fr. Michael Gaitley's version (the 33 Days to Morning Glory). He puts a whole new perspective on it, at least for me. I now realise that "total consecration" is not just a lofty ideal rounded off with a prayer and then gradually forgotten (which is basically what I did the first time around); rather, it is a way of life.

  4. Fr. Michael was to come here for a Marian Conference a few months ago and got sick. Everyone was SOOOO disappointed! I will try that one. Thank you!:)

Aww no! He spoke at the Divine Mercy Conference here in Ireland in February, he is just such a lovely man, like a ray of sunshine. He signed my book for me, too, with the message "Stay close to Our Lady" :)

Yes, I would have to agree with this post. I think the best way to getting on the path of recognizing our human limitations and relying totally on God with faith and trust is through consecration to Mary. I'm still "on the path" and don't know if I will ever achieve total dependence on God with full faith and trust. Like Jimmy, my life is littered with my mistakes that I'm paying for to this very day. I was receiving much consolation during the 33 day consecration we just completed. It is a little harder now to "live it" and I miss reading the Morning Glory meditations and posting on our consecration thread. But I'm still doing far better than I was before in putting my life in God's hands through Mary. If I stick to my "faithfulness to prayer" and continue to "die to self daily" in even small stuff...I know Mary will take that and run with it and continue to mold and transform me. It is through her intercession and moulding of me that I have a shot at truly recognizing my limitations and relying on God with true trust and faith. I'm not even sure it can be done by anyone alone without the divine intercession of Mary.
