This is true. They have been talking about it for a while. Though Carney being voted in sealed the deal. Unfortunately, a lot of us don’t have the means or alternative to move to Alberta. I think I am where I am and God will provide the strength.
My wife and I are devastated. I've never pray more for an election ever. Clearly we are going to get the leader we deserve. I know God is allowing it, but it's hard stay at peace and hopeful. Main secular reasons liberals won. 1. Change of face from hated Trudeau. (Not enough to swing vote) 2. People rallied with Carney against the Trump attacks and rhetoric. Him pretending to be patriotic and care about Canada. 3. Carney temporarily eliminated the carbon gas tax created the illusion of reduced costs for short sighted Canadians. They also mailed $200 carbon rebate cheques (checks) to every Canadian to buy votes. That was enough to turn it. On top of that Poilievre's conservative platform was purely an economic one. Axe the tax was his motto which the liberals erased (temp) by dropping the tax. Pierre was at least going to slow the Liberal madness. He would have never won on a Christian platform either, sadly. Onward we go, praying and hoping against hope.
My heart is with you. Despair will be our temptation in these times. God’s got a plan. Whatever we endure, it’s needed for the economy of souls right now.
I was remembering this evening being a teen and discussing with my Spiritual Director Marian Apparitions. That was way back in the 1970's. One thing that fascinated us that Our Lady talked about was the Great Apostacy and Persecution (which is also mentioned in the Apocalypse) . It seemed like Science Fiction especially way back then when the Church in places like Ireland was just so huge and strong. It seemed so unreal. But I was young and arrogant back then and though like St Peter that I at least would never desert the Lord. But I did. Then like Peter I repented and returned. Now we actually are living through the Apostacy. It is a great, great honour to be part of the Faithful Remnant. A chance to become a martyr and a really great saint just by standing firm. Do not be scandlised by all that is happening in the World and the Church around us. People make their choice and we make ours. If they choose hell, well that is their choice. We must make ours and our choice is heaven. As St Paul said what can separate us from the love of Christ? Romans 8:35-39 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
When we lost in 2020 and realized Joe Biden would be the figure head of the woke regime i was devastated and incredulous. We had all prayed so hard. But as it turned out we needed as a country to go through those terrible 4 years. Many many eyes were opened. The resistance began. God will work this to good for those who love Him and are called according to His putpose.
Let's hope! But the US had the reprieve of Trump being in for 4 years in the middle of the dem's. Our country is already ruined by 9 years of Trudeau. I don't think it'll last another 4 till the next election and they shouldn't have won this time so the outcome looks bleak. But God is our strength!!
Oh no, just read this on lifesite news . . . https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/inhaled-mrna-covid-shot-now-being-tested-in-canada/
We are so sad here about the results and very afraid of what is to come. I’ll have to spend a lot of time in prayer.
I have been convicted today that I need to get better control of my time on my phone, for more prayer and peace with everything. Trying for a Wednesday and Friday media fast.
Saint Paul reminds us in Romans that for those who love God everything works together for the good. Everything even apparently bad things. It is like a parent with a very little child, they have to let the child stumble and fall and hurt so it learns. Canada stumbling and falling and hurting itself is all part of this. May it all be part of a greater growing up. It is the same with the Church itself. Alright we got hurt a lot but we learnt an awful lot from these falls too. It was a huge learning experience. It is the same thing in Ireland and all over the World. Hurting and falling but at the same time getting to see some really wonderful, holy people rising up. There is through it all so many signs of hope, of a new springtime. Especially amongst the young.
