A Battle for the Soul of Our Nation & the Catholic Church
    In God We Trust
    August 15 to Oct. 7, 2019

The nation-wide prayer campaign - Novena for Our Nation & Our Church - begins on August 15th, the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and will end on October 7th, the Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary. For more detailed information, go HERE.

We will have two main intentions: 1) to pray for the restoration of the faith in the United States, 2) and to pray for the universal Church as the Amazon Synod approaches (synod begins on October 6, just as we conclude our novena). Also, bring your own personal intentions to this mighty prayer campaign, as we will all be praying for each other's intentions (we have witnessed countless miracles by way of this powerful 54-Day Rosary Novena!).

We ask our Patron Saint of the United States Grace Force, St. Maximilian Kolbe, to pray for us!

Here's how the 54 Day Rosary Novena works (it is really very simple) ...
First, we have added a short 1-2 minute reflection for "Basic Training in Holiness." So, participants are not only praying for our nation, but receiving a quality 54 day basic training for becoming the saints we are called to be.

Second, you will pray a rosary, each day for 54 days, in one of two ways (Modern or Traditional) ...

    Modern Version
You could just add the intention "For Our Nation" or "For Faith and Freedom for Our Nation" to your daily rosary, and simply continue praying the "Rosary Proper" for each day of the week. This would be a way for you to add the Luminous Mysteries. See HERE.

    Traditional Version
What is the 54 Day Rosary Novena? See HERE.

Many (including myself) believe there is a special power in praying the 54 Day Rosary Novena in the way it was originally designed. Since it was designed prior to St. Pope John Paul II's addition of the "optional" Luminous Mysteries, they would not be prayed while using the traditional version.

    DAY 1

DAY 1 - HOLY MARY, HELP US TO STRIVE FOR PERFECTION!
    GOD'S WORD
"So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect." (Matthew 4:48)

    HEROES' WORDS
"If you are what you should be, you will set the whole world ablaze!" -St. Catherine of Siena
"This is the very perfection of a man, to find out his own imperfections." -St. Augustine
"To live is to change, and to be perfect is to have changed often." -Bl. John Henry Cardinal Newman
"He who climbs never stops going from beginning to beginning, through beginnings that have no end. He never stops desiring what he already knows." -St. Gregory of Nissa
"Let us begin in earnest to work out our salvation, for no one will do it for us, since even he himself, who made us without ourselves, will not save us without ourselves." -St. Margaret Mary Alacoque

    MEDITATION
"All Christians in any state or walk of life are called to the fullness of Christian life and to the perfection of charity." All are called to holiness: "Be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect." (CCC 2013)

Spiritual progress tends toward ever more intimate union with Christ. This union is called "mystical" because it participates in the mystery of Christ through the sacraments - "the holy mysteries" - and, in him, in the mystery of the Holy Trinity. God calls us all to this intimate union with him, even if the special graces or extraordinary signs of this mystical life are granted only to some for the sake of manifesting the gratuitous gift given to all. (CCC 2014)

The way of perfection passes by way of the Cross. There is no holiness without renunciation and spiritual battle. Spiritual progress entails the ascesis and mortification that gradually lead to living in the peace and joy of the Beatitudes. (CCC 2015)

    PRAY A ROSARY

THE JOYFUL MYSTERIES OF THE HOLY ROSARY

O Holy Queen, dispenser of God's graces, and Mother of all who invoke thee, thou canst not look upon my gift and fail to see its binding. Show thyself my Mother!

These longer more involved novenas are a real challenge for me to fully complete. I often miss days or am very inclined to shorten some days. Perhaps a weird question, does my Guardian angel finish those days?

Thank you for this! I need the whole thing spelled out so I can print it and pray when I can. That can be so much easier than scrolling on my 2x4 phone. I don't know all the mysteries or what days. This helps a great deal.

    Thank you Lynnfiat

Joan I cannot always complete the long prayers of each day but I always join with the Rosary united to Fr Heilman's intentions. It makes completing the novena lot easier.

Today we start the 27 days of thanksgiving in our novena, so let's remember to offer our rosaries in thanksgiving united to Fr. Heilman's intentions and all our personal intentions. For instance, to begin:

In thanksgiving (last 27 days):Hail, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, my Mother Mary, hail! At thy feet I gratefully kneel to offer thee a Crown of Roses full blown white roses, tinged with the red of the passion, to remind thee of thy glories, fruits of the sufferings of thy Son and thee each rose recalling to thee a holy mystery; each ten bound together with my petition for a particular grace. O Holy Queen, dispenser of God s graces, and Mother of all who invoke thee! thou canst not look upon my gift and fail to see its binding. As thou receivest my gift, so wilt thou receive my thanksgiving; from thy bounty thou hast given me the favor I so earnestly and trustingly sought. I despaired not of what I asked of thee, and thou hast truly shown thyself my Mother.

    And at the end:

In thanksgiving (last 27 days): Sweet Mother Mary, I offer thee this Spiritual Communion to bind my bouquets in a wreath to place upon thy brow in thanksgiving for (specify request, see below) which thou in thy love hast obtained for me. Hail, Mary, etc.

PETITIONS: Restoration of the faith in the United States. The universal Church as the Amazon Synod approaches. Your personal intentions (name them). The personal intentions of all praying the 54 Day Novena for Our Nation & Our Church.

Thank you Sam for posting this. I have been doing the Novena from the start but didn’t have time to post on MOG. Whatever Fr. Heilman does, I follow as He is a very Holy amazing Priest!

I know that this thread is about the US, but could I ask that you say an extra decade of the Rosary for Poland, a country in the crosshairs of the evil one. They're having a special vigil on Saturday in preparation for the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows on Sunday. You can read about it on their Poland Under the Cross website (click on the British flag on the top right corner of the page for an English translation): https://www.polskapodkrzyzem.pl/english
