    Notre-Dame Cathedral In Flames
    Written by Michael J. Matt | Editor | https://remnantnewspaper.com/web/index.php/articles/item/4434-notre-dame-cathedral-in-flames

    Update:
Since first posting this report of the fire at Notre Dame, the situation is obviously much worse now, as the old Cathedral is burning out of control. Who or what is behind this unthinkable tragedy remains to be seen and is not for us about which to speculate. For the moment in all of its horror, we can only offer our prayers, thoughts and tears to our French brothers and sisters who, in many ways, are watching part of themselves burn to the ground. Along with them, we are devastated beyond words. Notre Dame, Reine de France, prie pour nous tous. MJM

The Burning of Notre Dame Cathedral: A Tragic Symbol for Our Times
    Steve Skojec April 15, 2019
    ...
It is a heartbreaking day, amid a series of heartbreaking days for Catholics.
May God arise and restore His Church to her former glory — and give us the fortitude to persevere until then.

Notre-Dame de Paris, ora pro nobis!

    ***

This is a prophecy from Desmond Birch's book TTT pg. 275 about Paris and France in general in the future:

St. John Vianney, The Cure' of Ars (19th Century)

The enemy (the Prussians) will allow the burning of Paris, and they will rejoice at it, but they shall be beaten; they shall be driven entirely from France. Our enemies shall return, and will destroy everything in their march. They shall arrive at Poitiers without meeting any serious resistance, but there they shall be crushed by the defenders of the West, who shall pursue them. From other directions their provisions shall be cut off, and they shall suffer very serious losses. They will attempt to retire towards their country, but very few of them shall ever reach it.

The Communists of Paris, after their defeat, shall spread themselves through all France, and will be greatly multiplied. They shall seize arms; they shall oppress the people of order. Lastly, a civil war shall break out everywhere. These wicked people shall become masters in the North, East and Southwest of France. They will imprison very many persons, and will be guilty of more massacres. They will attempt to kill all the priests and all the religious. But this shall not last long. People will imagine that all is lost; but the good God shall save all. It will be like a sign of the last judgement...God shall come to help; the good shall triumph when the return of the king shall be announced. This shall reestablish a peace and prosperity without example. Religion shall flourish again better than ever before.

Interestingly, the Knights of Columbus brought the relic heart of St Vianney on tour of the US since last Fall.
    It was a great grace.

Yes, my wife and I were able to kneel in front of his heart at the Cathedral in Sioux Falls, South Dakota a few weeks ago. A great grace it was!

This sounds so much like Blessed Emmerich's vision of the Church with only the walls and part of the roof remaining.

  7. Photos show center of Notre Dame cathedral miraculously intact

Photos from inside Notre Dameshow the central part of the historic Gothic cathedral still intact.

Rows of wooden pews and much of the nave appears to have been saved, according to the images.

“Only a small part of the vault collapsed. Interior seems relatively untouched. Hallelujah!” wrote @CathedralNotre.

Still, a massive hole can be seen in the 850-year-old cathedral’s roof. The pictures also show smoke emanating from the chancel, the area around the altar.

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo told Le Monde there was “a big hole in the roof.”

“The altar and its cross are preserved. It’s not as bad as I feared,” she told Le Monde.

There is still a fire between the stone vault and the wood frame, Le Monde reported.

Just catching up, hearing and reading about the cathedral saddens my heart, but also reminds me to offer these next few days of lent for the suffering of our Lord. May he remember his Mercy towards us who have abandoned him. My prayer warriors it it is time to place the armor of God upon us and gear up for the time is at hand. May our mother and general Mary lead us with the greatest weapon of all. Praying for all here that we do not fall weary.

How tragic. And in Holy Week. Time will tell if it was intentional. Thank God the Crown of Thorns was preserved. Let's pray for France.

If it was intentional the media will never tell us...unless it was a deranged priest or something that makes the Church look bad.

If it was Islam we'll never hear about it.

If this is true, if France pays to rebuild, what “diverse “ style church will they turn ND into?
France, do not allow the government to dictate this project! Rebuild it in its historic catholic tradition...or do not rebuild it at all. Do not allow it to be a one world government religious building.

In the light of a report I have just read in ZeroHedge, this post of mine is very naive.

I’m not sure of this, but some reports state that the government has shared ownership/responsibility with the church . I pray that they do not modernize ND. At this point, can we even trust the current liberal church to not do the same. Anyone donating money to rebuild need to know how this restoration is managed.
    Keep it traditional....keep it catholic!

Well, some good news at last. Glad there is still some love for the Church in France. As was stated, it should be rebuilt only as a Traditional Catholic Church.

"In what some might ascribe to a holy week miracle, the interior of Notre Dame was miraculously saved last night by the more than 400 firefighters worker to suppress a devastating fire that destroyed the roof of the 850-year-old cathedral, as well as its iconic spire. In a speech delivered shortly before midnight, French President Emmanuel Macron implored the French people to join a national fundraising campaign to repair the damage, and at least one of the country's wealthiest men has already obliged.

French billionaire François-Henri Pinault said Monday night that he and his family would donate €100 million ($113 million) to the rebuilding effort. Pinault, who is chairman of Kerring group, the luxury goods powerhouse behind Gucci, Balenciaga and Yves Saint Laurent, said the money would come from his family's investment firm, Artemis.

In a statement, the billionaire, who is married to actress Selma Hayek, said he hopes that the money will help the Catholic Church "completely rebuild Notre Dame."

"My father [François Pinault] and I have decided to release as of now from the funds of Artemis a sum of 100 million euros to participate in the effort that will be necessary for the complete reconstruction of Notre Dame," he said.

Church officials and the government of France have for years sought private funds to help pay for costly renovations at the cathedral. It was in the middle of a $12.5 million renovation financed by the French state when the fire, reportedly caused by an 'accident' in the cathedral's attic, first broke out." https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-04-16/french-billionaires-pledge-350-million-rebuild-notre-dame

According to an SSPX article written last year, Notre Dame has needed and been short on funds for a long time now. So it is good that these have come forward.

"Recently [written Feb 2018], the archdiocese asked the goverment to support the vital repairs on the property it owns. The government refused. It states that it already gives €2 million ($2.28 million) a year for this purpose, but this amount only covers basic upkeep. The repairs needed, including removing past restorative efforts, and replacing them with proper materials and techniques, will cost many times more that amount. And Notre Dame is crumbling more every day.

The Friends of Notre-Dame de Paris has agreed to help shoulder the burden. Michel Picaud, recently estimated the costs at a total of €100 million, noting that the work needs to be carried out within the next six to ten years. With funds not forthcoming from the goverment, and unlikely to come from the dwindling Catholic population of France, Picaud also set up a second non-profit organization in the United States last fall in order to reach its fundraising target. André Finot, a spokesman for Notre Dame cathedral believes the bulk of the money will need to come from the Americans, millions of whom know Notre Dame and who are less hesitant than the French about giving money to the church. “People don’t want to give money because of laïcité,” he says, referring to the strict secularism that infuses French law. "

Kudos again to those Catholic Billionaires who stepped up now. Hopefully, there should be no more problem and the re-building of Our Lady's Cathedral goes ahead properly. Let's pray.

Notre Dame is French for Our Lady. It absolutely should not be a secularist or a multicultural or pantheistic monument that is set up. That's the greatest danger now.

Anyway, I hope the good people of France will take this as a call from God to come back to renewed love for Our Lord Jesus, Our Mother Mary, and our Holy Catholic Church.
