Thanks for that awaitwithjoy...the full rejection of organized religion is in full swing. It is apostacy (communism) in no uncertain terms. We are particularly persecuted by fellow Catholics who deny the tenets of the Catholic faith whilst proclaiming to be "good Christians". So many Judases who persecute us in our everyday life. Pray for thier conversion...and of course for our own conversion because only God can save us now from ourselves. Come Holy Spirit!

There are some signs of hope, but I think the church is being "distilled"...

I went to Marytown adoration chapel last night on the way home from work (its the Franciscan monastery in Libertyville, Illinois, next to St. Mary's of the Lake Seminary where Fr Robert Barron is rector). They have confessions every Tuesday and Thursday evening, and last night there were over 150 people in line, and they needed 4 preists to hear confessions.

One family in line was talking about how St Padre Pio was calling them to deeper faith somehow. I have a feeling Padre Pio has something to do with graces working on this site too.

I went to confession tonight for Spy Wednesday. The priests all stood by the altar and we quequed up.

It was only when I got near the altar I realised that I end up with one of two priests , one of whom had given me a bit of straight talk in confession a couple of months ago and I was really nervous of ending up with him. I haven't felt like that about confession, afraid, since I was a child. :)

So of course I prayed I'd end up with the other priest. But of course I ended up with the priest I had urgently being trying to avoid.:)

But he was sweet as honey. My spiritual director used to say we should recognise Jesus in confession; well all I can say is stay out of Jesus's road when He in a bad humour.:D

I accept now it won't be long until they are hunting we Catholics over the hills, through streets and into our very homes to kill and imprison us. Not because we are doing anything wrong but because we are doing lots of things right.

You can smell persecution in the air all around.

It should be pointed out that to anyone familiar with Italian source material (much of it not yet translated into English), Gabriele Amorth's remarks are more than just a conspiracy theory. Critics have tried to dismiss the hypothesis of foul play in Pope John Paul I's death put forward by investigative writer David Yallop in 'In God's Name' (1984/2007), but serious evidence that Pope John Paul I may indeed have been murdered has since appeared in the revelations of ex-Mafia turncoat and Scottish Rite mason Vincenzo Calcara. He was contracted by La Cosa Nostra to kill anti-corruption judge Paolo Borsellino but eventually turned himself in and was befriended by the Borsellino family, subsequently cooperating with the Italian judicial system, who consider him credible. In his 'memoriali', of which Salvatore Borsellino published a transcript online at http://www.19luglio1992.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=398 , Calcara recounts how a certain Michele Lucchese, who gave instructions to him regarding John Paul II's attempted assassination, bragged about how the Mafia (in league with Italian Freemasonry) had dealt with John Paul I, and why.

Here's a translation of the critical passage (which I made for a lecture I gave on the subject a month ago) of this account. If you read it, you'll see where Fr Amorth is coming from on this, I think, and why he has made the connection with the new Pope Francis - if, as I surmise, he has read Calcara's material

‘He wanted to make a ‘revolution’ within the Vatican ! He wanted the Church to be poorer, re-dimensioning the wealth of the Vatican, and had studied a plan to help the poor familes of the world, above all those of Italy, obviously. everything was to be done by and through the Vatican Bank, which later he wanted to hand over in to be managed by members of the laity as with the teaching of Jesus: ‘give to Caesar what is Caesar's’.

Papa Luciani could not bear the idea that Cardinals and Bishops should manage this enormous wealth through the IOR [Vatican Bank]. The first thing he had already decided to do was to remove some cardinals who managed, used and manipulated Bishop Marcinkus, exploiting not only the capacity he had to manage the Vatican Bank but also and above all the contacts and powerful friendships of Bishop Marcinkus at the European and international level.

Were Papa Luciani not to die within a few days Marcinkus and four Cardinals would have been immediately removed and replaced, and perhaps also, if I am not mistaken, the Secretary [of State or the Pope’s Secretary]. Those substituting the four Cardinals and Marcinkus were various Bishops and Cardinals of the highest level of trust who had ‘secretly’ prepared a well worked-out plan together with Papa Luciani so that, once they were each in their assigned place they would act to distribute 90% of the wealth in various parts of the world, building houses, schools, hospitals etc. etc. […] In sum he wanted to make a real and proper revolution and take everyone by surprise !!! The poor Pope was not able to bring this plan to completion as one of his entrusted Cardinals betrayed him, going and telling everything to Marcinkus and the four Cardinals !!!

For Pape Luciani, these Cardinals were exerting a negative influence, and he wanted to remove them ; they succeeded, by means of their diabolical intelligence and without leaving any trace, in killing their Pope with a large quantity of drops of tranquillizers, aided by the medical personnel.

For what it's worth, Fr Amorth's statement about Monti's Masonic affiliation is corroborated by a 'reformist' Italian Masonic website, 'Grande Oriente Democratico' of Gioele Magaldi (http://www.grandeoriente-democratico.com/ ) which speaks openly about Freemasonry and the Vatican. This is significant, as for a long while talk of Masonic infiltration of the Church hierarchy was dismissed as the invention of the SSPX or 'sedevacantist' opponents of Vatican II. Now it is increasingly clear that this is not just paranoia, and that something extremely serious has been going on for decades now (as Padre Pio alleged towards the end of his life - to readers of Fr Gobbi this should also come as no surprise). Just what is another question, however, and one that is far harder to answer.

I am genuinely surprised that you think JP1 was murdered ,Peter. For I know you would not think so without very good evidence.

If this is so then poor Pope Francis appears to be a guaranteed dead man:(

They tried that with John Paul 2 and it didn't work. He is in Mother Mary's hands. :)

I am not saying that John Paul 1 wasn't, (or that he was) but God permits different things for many reasons, and what he permits for one He won't permit for another, so don't lose heart. :)

In Fr. Gobbi's book there are two references to Pope John Paul I.

    #160-Sept. 8, 1978
-g- The Church too is now living through her great trial, and what is awaiting her is something she has never known before.
I am watching over her and arranging everything for her good. And now the Heart of my Son Jesus has given her a new chief pastor in the person of Pope John Paul I. Love him; listen to him; defend him; follow him, because he will have to suffer for the Church.
The days of her trial are all numbered, and in my Immaculate Heart I am preparing for her as well the moment of her new birth in time. She will be more beautiful, and radiant, holier and more godlike, after the great trial of purification.
And so I am calling you all today to gather about the cradle of your infant Mother. Learn from me to grow in littleness and trust, in humility and greater abandonment to the love of the Father.

#167- Fr. Gobbi--- Jan. 1, 1979 Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God
THE PLAN OF MERCIFUL LOVE (a very important message)
“Beloved children, I am close to you at the beginning of this New Year. Have confidence in my Immaculate Heart!

Enclosed within my Heart is the plan of the merciful love of my Son Jesus, who wants to lead the world back to the Father for the perfect glorification of God.

The world is not lost, even though it is now walking along the road of perdition and of its own destruction. Through a trial which I have foretold to you many times, it will in the end be saved by an act of the merciful love of Jesus, who has entrusted you to the action of your heavenly Mother.

Sin still covers the earth; hatred and violence are erupting everywhere; the greatest crimes are crying out daily for vengeance in the sight of God.

You are beginning a year during which all will be particularly aware of the powerful hand of God, which will be stretched out over the world to help it through the irresistible force of his merciful love.
And so, my children, events which you cannot imagine are awaiting you.

But there are also the prayers of the good, the sorrows of the innocent, the hidden sufferings of many, the tears and supplications of numerous victims scattered throughout the world. Through them, I have hastened the time of my extraordinary intervention.

The Church, my beloved Daughter, is now emerging from a great trial because the battle between me and my Adversary has been waged, even at her very summit. Satan has attempted to infiltrate to the very point of threatening the rock on which the Church is founded, but I have prevented him from doing so.

Precisely when Satan was under the illusion that he had conquered, after God had accepted the sacrifice of Pope Paul VI and of John Paul I, I obtained from God for the Church the Pope who had been prepared and formed by me.

He has consecrated himself to my Immaculate Heart and has solemnly entrusted to me the Church, of which I am the Mother and Queen.
In the person and the work of the Holy Father, John Paul II, I am reflecting my great light which will become stronger, the more the darkness envelops everything.

Priests and faithful consecrated to my Immaculate Heart, children whom I have gathered from all parts of the world into my cohort for the great battle which awaits you unite, all of you, about the Pope, and you will be clothed in my own strength and in my marvelous light!

Love him; pray for him; listen to him! Obey him in all things, even to wearing the ecclesiastical dress according to the desire of my Heart and his will which he has already made known to you. Offer me the suffering you may experience if, because of this you are sometimes ridiculed by your own confreres.
For the Church too, which has a sure guide in the person of the Pope, the time of purification will be shortened, in accordance with my loving plan.

This then is your hour, the hour of the apostles of my Immaculate Heart.

Spread courageously the Gospel of Jesus; defend the truth; love the Church; help all to flee sin and to live in the grace and the love of God.
    Pray; suffer; make reparation! ...”

as one who has lived through the type of North Korea country I can assure you those scares are more for the internal than external use. You have to remember that North Korea is living on the edge of constant famine ( the results of communist economics) and in order to avoid the revolt the government has to frequently remind it's people that they are surrounded by enemies, who want to destroy their precious little country which would be heaven on earth if the evil enemies won't be preying for them every second.

BTW Russia's narrative today is of a similar scope - evil West is there to get them and destroy their messianic destiny. more or less this is the story of every totalitarian regime - since the people inside are tortured this torture and constant sacrifices have to be justified. Other nowadays regime with this scary tale is Chavez's Venezuela.

Latin America has a lot of those types of leaders which are communist and somewhat Catholic - I believe those are the fruits of liberation theology.
On the other hand if the soul was saved - even the soul of a bad man - it is the victory of Our Lord and all of us...

He had a huge love of the poor as did Our Lord. I always liked him for that.:)

A Communist's love for the poor is much different than Christ's love for the poor. A Communist loves the poor because they are dependant for the government leader for there essensial needs in life (food, clothing housing) and as long as they are receiving just enough of that he will always retain his power over them. It's much like Lazarus in the bible, hopning to get the scraps that fell on the floor from the rich man's table. Like to ol tale goes... "There's no atheists in a fox hole".

what's unsettling about North Korea now is this new leader is an unknown to us. They have always threatened and talked a lot with the previous leader...but he was a known entity...when he talked big we knew nothing would result of it. this new leader is an unknown and he might be crazier than his father.
