I'm sorry, I do not speak Spanish, otherwise, I would try to find the original source. However, I did read in English once that her messages are reviewed by her Catholic bishop before being sent out.

Meanwhile, here is an English article. She has been given Nihil Obstat and the Imprimatur from Catholic bishop Juan Aberlardo Mata of Nicaragua for many of her messages (2009 to September 2017).

Her messages are not approved by her bishop. The Church never approves messages before the apparitions in question are finished. If you make such a bold claim you really should be prepared to back it up, spanish speaking or not.

The Imprimaturs you speak of where not signed off by the Ordinary in charge. Each bishop in the world can render their own judgement (and in today's world usually do) and in fact can differ in that judgement. This has no authority or bearing on the apparitions themselves. It is one bishop's opinion on the messages presented to him. Only the Bishop in charge can make a judgement on the apparitions.

It is customary for the author to request Imprimaturs from either the Bishop from their residence or from the bishop where the publisher resides. Interesting that she obtained one from a different country.

Thank you for your response. I appreciate your clarification and I agree with most of it. I am sorry if I caused any confusion in this area. However, you stated: "The Church never approves messages before the apparitions in question are finished." Can you state the source for that assertion? Because this is a situation in which an individual is receiving heavenly messages under spiritual direction. Are you basically saying that in all such similar situations, the person has to be dead before their heavenly messages are believed?

The Church never approves messages before the apparitions are finished.
I would say that’s pretty much a given although it may happen. The local bishop is the one who is in charge of granting approval or not to the apparitions or messages. Period. The End.

Yes, but Frodo said used the word,"never." That is a pretty bold claim to make without a source to back it up. However, you on the other hand are saying it "may happen." Are you right or Frodo?

Also, I would like people to know that this thread is about praying for mitigation on a great tragedy that might befall the United States, specifically, New York City, and not about Luz de Maria. I would like someone to enlighten me on why we should not pray for mitigation as some have suggested? Truly, people on this sub-forum can place prayer requests for all sorts of troubles for all type of reasons. However, I place a prayer request which happens to be based on credible sources known to me, and it is met with skepticism and disbelief by some. I can understand people not desiring to believe in the underlying messages which are not known to them. However, some people on this thread are pretty shocking to me with their "why" questions.

Can people not accept a prayer request for peace and safety for the welfare of the people of New York City?

This reminds of a situation years ago (Summer 2008), when I approached a Christian (Protestant) for prayers for a situation developing into potential war between Iran and Israel. She would not pray for peace, instead she said if it is God's Divine Will then so be it. And I was shocked by her lack of sympathy for potential people that might be lost.

I have read in the Luz de Maria messages about the miracle will take place also at the Shrine of Guadalupe in the Americas, but I can't find any thing about Luz de Maria knowing the date. Can you provide a link to that?

Well Frodo is right. But a local Bishop has charge. I checked online. Maybe you need to check for yourself to put your mind at ease.

Seagrace, I thought of this too. I also thought of what Glenn stated and then I just talked about all of this with my husband and he mentioned that it could be a dirty bomb, ugh. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dirty_bomb

If this were to happen it could be meant to cause fear and economic upheaval with the intention of preventing the re-election of President Trump.

I am certain that NYC and many other cities in the USA gets threats all of the time. It is best to pray for peace or if you prefer pray for God's will to be done.

PS - I also want to add that if this was to occur and a terrorist organization is the culprit it is very likely that it would not cause WWIII. Imo President Trump is very unlikely to do what President GW Bush did after 9/11.

Padre Pio said it best, "Pray, hope and don't worry."

I agree with much of what you say, Carol. A lot of things can happen and it can happen anywhere. Looking at terrorists attacks, they often happen at unexpected places, whether on significant dates or not. Death comes to everyone and we're supposed to be prepared but I'll be honest and say I don't want to die any time soon and I don't wish it for any others too. So, I'm joining my prayers to everyone else's and may God keep us safe.
On another thread, I posted about being tugged towards the Divine Mercy Conversion prayer. I'm praying that now, may God use it as he pleases.

The prayer taught to us by Our Lord is The Our Father. In the prayer we pray Thy Will Be Done. Gods Will is greater than our desires. Jesus told the disciples that Jerusalem would be destroyed. Jesus never told the disciples to pray that it won’t happen.

My why questions and the other responses are coming from souls who have great Faith. Faith that Gods Will will be Done. God is immutable God never changes. We pray this in The Glory Be.

Revelation, The Book of Daniel and the other prophets have told us Chastisements are coming, the end of time is coming, you can not pray it away, but we can pray for souls. I think there have been several responses to the prayer request regarding the nuclear bomb headed to NY, it is a greater deed to pray for souls.

    Hi Sam,

Sorry I missed your reply earlier. Here is a link to the message from Saint Michael to Luz de Maria about her knowing the date for the Miracle that I posted on my blog:

    https://maryrefugeofholylove.com/20...-jesus-christ-has-given-his-prophet-the-date/

You can also find it on Luz de Maria's English website, but I don't know how to directly link to the message because of how the messages are displayed. Sorry about that. God bless.

I understand what you are trying to say, but there are different aspects to God's Will. For example, as Saint Thomas Aquinas taught, there is God's Ordaining Will and there is God's Permissive Will. Under God's Ordaining Will, God wills things such as the Ten Commandments given to Moses, the Incarnation, and other aspects important to salvation happen in the world. However, under His Permissive Will, events happen in the world that are permitted due to free-will, which are contrary to His Ordaining Will, such as violence and acts of evil between man. These acts of evil are contrary to God's desire for the world as God hates evil and evil was never part of His Divine Plan for the world. So, to say that we should never pray away chastisements, which are the result of evil in the world, because they are inevitable is actually contrary to the nature of God and shows a lack of faith because all things are possible to God. I truly believe that all things are possible to God. I also believe in the Book of Jonah in Sacred Scripture and the power of prayer and repentance when chastisements are announced by God.

The only reason that chastisements will come is because of people's lack of faith and love in God. They will come due to God's Permissive Will which allows the shortcomings of our free-will to manifest in evil in the world and so, God will need to chastise us for disobeying Him. But, chastisements are a last resort to God and are contrary to God's Ordaining Will, which is always for the Goodness and Divine Love for His children on earth. It is God's Ordaining Will that we pray for to realize on earth in the Our Father Prayer.

If you desire to pray simply for the salvation of souls, that is fine. But, recognize, when you pray specifically for something, you are directing grace particularly for that event or person.

As for your example about Jerusalem being destroyed in 60AD, I am not certain that your example is correct. As Sacred Scripture teaches, there are many things that Jesus taught and said that are not contained in the Gospels. For instance, see the Poem of the Man-God. I just would not use the word "never" because you are making an assumption about Our Lord that may not be true.

Thank you, Flora, for your kind words.

This is the only forum that I belong to and I do not post often to it. But, in the end of the day, I just think about standing before My Lord and Him asking me, did I love people enough to tell them about this? I would hate to look in the eyes of My Lord, and say to Him, no, I loved You only a little bit and I did not try to love everybody as You call me too.

Perhaps, people think that I am being sensational and are self-motivated, etc. But, the problem with this world today is that people are afraid to truly love one another. People are afraid to really lay things down on the line and go all the way for God. I know that I am going to take the brunt of everything if nothing happens as I am the only person who is posting about this online, etc., but in the end, it is not about other people, it is between me and God.

And despite what people may think of me, I do love everyone here on this MoG forum, that is why I am taking this risk. Because I'll be a fool for God if it means lives are saved in the end. God bless.

Also, thank you, Padraig, for the miraculous photo. It is very beautiful. I love that shade of the sky. God bless.

I think the difficulty in sudden death lies in Catholic Tradition. We used to always pray to the Lord to spare us an, 'Unprovided for death'. In other words to die without a chance to, 'Make our peace with God'.

This is one of the blessings of cancer, for instance, in that we are given a period of several months to get set.

Jesus said that, 'We know not the day or hour', implicitly referring to this and warning us.

Say I were a vigilante and decided to shoot a lot of Mafia Bosses. I would not only be killing their bodies I would probably be sending them straight to hell and would have to answer for the fate of their souls as well as their lives.

This is why when we execute people we take great care to give them spiritual help in the form of a constant chaplain.

There is a nice story about this in the childhood of St Therese:
