The British Jesuits' website Thinking Faith has just published an article of mine in conjunction with the book entitled 'Pope Francis, the hermeneutic of conspiracy and the 'Three F's' in which I try to explain (for a relatively highbrow audience) why it would be foolish to laugh away the fundamentalists and conspiracy theorists currently attacking Pope Francis... They may be loons and fanatics, but their emergence from the woodwork at this particular point in time is more significant than we might think. The 'Three F's', by the way, are Fatima, (St) Faustina and (Julian) Felsenburgh, the last-named being the Antichrist of Robert Hugh Benson's 1907 novel The Lord of the World which the Pope is encouraging us to read. Might start a new thread about that remarkable and scary book! http://www.thinkingfaith.org/articles/pope-francis-hermeneutic-conspiracy-and-%E2%80%98three-f%E2%80%99s%E2%80%99
Read the book last year and it is a fantastic and remarkable book. Amazing how so much of what is happening in our world today, Benson wrote about all those years ago. Thank you again Peter for your rationale and strong defense of Pope Francis.
