A Faithful Friend A faithful dog will play with you or laugh with you, or cry, he'll gladly starve to stay with you and never reason why. And when you're feeling out of sorts Somehow he'll understand, He'll watch you with his shining eyes and try t lick your hand. His blind, implicit faith in you is matched by his great love, The kind that all of us should have in the Master up above! When everything is said and done I guess this isn't odd, For when you spell "Dog" backwards You'll get the name of God.
That is so interesting about the dog standing watch while you say the Rosary! My dogs always seemed to be on guard, barking at "nothing" sometimes that would give you a feeling that they sensed a presence that I could not see. I never had a big scare, but I have heard stories from others who have. I agree about cats, I have been dogless for several years now, and have become greatly tuned to the cats I have had. I honestly thought that my last cat, Samantha, used to play with something unseen...perhaps either her mother or another cat named Scooter that we had before...the way she would run around the house by herself at play it would be as if she had a friend running with her sometimes. Now we have our two new kitties, and they are everywhere together. I don't notice any "other" play, as they have each other to play with, and that consumes them. But they have learned a few bahaviors that made me wonder if Samantha (or someone) were still around and was instructing them! LOL Samantha and I used to pray the rosary together. She would lay right on my chest and I would pray the rosary, and I would tell her about our Mother, Mary, and about Jesus, and she would listen, and purr. I know, I'm a nut, but it gave me peace, and she kept me company in my prayer. Usually she wouldn't make it through the whole rosary though, she would get up and wander away, but that was okay. The new kitties are the same in that they lay with me while I pray and don't seem to mind at all, usually they will fall asleep while I pray. I think cats have a great sense for what is unseen. However, I don't think it frightens them like it does dogs, I think they somehow know how to deal with it. Hmmm, maybe it was my angel who played with Samantha!
Today, Tuesday, is evidently a court date for my friend Candy. She needs a judge who listens to God. Please, if you are so inclined, would you pray for that, a little Hail Mary wouldn't hurt either. Many thanks, Lee
This is a long awaited praise report. In light of the disaster in Japan, retaining a home is small stuff. But in light of the disaster in Japan it confirms to me that the Lord is still King and cares and provides for us. My 6ft Romanian friend , Candy, had word from the Lord 2 years ago that she would in fact keep her home, even though all indications were against it. She had a hearing on March 1st, and the 8th of March and the judge ruled against her and was going to award the bank. Then he took a few days and came back with a ruling against the bank, in favor of my friend and, AND, the bank wants to settle with her! This is so unbelievable given the place that she started. When Blessed Mother said "pray, pray, pray"...it wasn't just a suggestion! :wink: I thank you with all my heart for lifting her intention to the Heavens. We have prayer warriors here like no where else.
Thank God for some good news. I had a lovely thing that happned just last night. I was up in the night and the rain round the Castle and let my little dog of the lead up there. The place is full of rabbits and I think she chased them into the undergrowth and she dissappeared. I stood there for about ten minutes calling and blowing a whistle. Eventually I though maybe I would have to go home without her, but a thought came into my mind to pray to St Joseph and at once she appeared out of the bushes at my feet. Such a speedy answer to prayer..a delight. I am getting to be St Joe's biggest fan. I hope Candy is as grateful to Our LAdy as I am to St joe..there are no accidents in this life, no accidents at all....
You know how the Lord speaks in stereo, well a few weeks ago we got two new statues in our church, one of Our Lady and the other of St. Joseph. I don't know him but he keeps coming to the forefront so it seems that we are to get acquainted! Thank you for your story of prayer. It's leading me down the bunny trail! And so glad Yuki is responsive to prayer. What a headstrong pup you have there Padraig, but it appears with a soft heart. :wink:
I like that, she's a dog, she's doing her dog thing. That's how it goes. :wink: Padraig, I keep thinking about that most recent night that the dark one was in your room and you awoke with such a presence of evil. What did Yuki do? Was she aware that something was wrong?
