You know, the doctor saying, "Wait." yesterday ended up being a blessing. Really everyone, my left hand was not in good shape. 95% of what I do is dependent on it, and even when I went to bed at 11pm last night, it was extremely tender and complaining. Though I'm a little stiff this morning, the only remaining discomfort is the tissue on top of my left knee. God is literally AMAZING! Thank you for all of your prayers! Give thanks to the Lord for He is good. His Mercy endures forever!
Prayers, Mario! I had literally dozens of falls during my recovery from strokes, so I can empathize. Fortunately as a formerly overweight male, I have good solid bones. In one particularly amusing misadventure (only amusing in hind sight may I add) I was loading 50 pound fire bricks only a dolly which, when laid on its side, formed a little four wheel cart. As I laid the second brick on the cart, it was too far over the main axle, causing the entire cart to flip up in the air, with the cart handle crashing down on my skull (I was still bent over) which forcefully threw me in a circle, landing on my wrists on the cement steps of the cellar stairway I was working in. In addition to the huge egg on the top of my head, I cracked a bone in my wrist. It would have made a fantastic YouTube video...
Wow. Last spill I took was 2008 (?). Walking along with husband on a sidewalk, talking and looking straight ahead ... suddenly I'm flat on my abdomen staring down the length of the sidewalk! Weird. Saw husband's feet do a surprise twist-about. I got up laughing. Had caught the toe of my flip-flop on a crack.

I found out today that this hurting woman is back in the good graces of the Church. Fr. Innocent was able to both anoint her and hear her confession. She received Holy Communion from him and another Catholic chaplain was able to give her Holy Communion yesterday before she was discharged. Alleluia! So thank you all for your prayers! How merciful is the Lord Our God and thank you Mary for your Maternal Care!
Am also just seeing this thread now. Hope you’re on the mend Mario! Also, the story you related about the hurting woman you ministered to, was beautiful! Thanks be to God.
The day I tripped and fell, the adrenaline got me to my parked car and on the way home. That's about a 40 minute drive. By the time I arrived home my left hand and knee were in a good deal of pain. Since I have cerebral palsy on my right side, it is crucial that the my left side is functional. So I was a little annoyed when I called Urgent Care and the doctor told me not to come in until the next morning. I did contact family and friends, including MOG, and asked for prayers. Everything was so much improved the next morning that I thanked Jesus and stayed home. Safe in the Refuge of the Immaculate Heart!
