Praying for Siobhan. Padraig - she is fortunate to have a brother like you living by faith in the love of God.
Thanks again for your prayers. I went to visit tonight... and the the strangest thing. She had been on the internet and offered her home online as a bed and breakfast. An American called Spencer is staying three days. He is travelling round Ireland has a big job in an American drug company specialising in..you won't believe it a wonder drug for cancer of the liver. He is a Catholic and wants to go to early mass in the morning and my brother is taking him to Clonard to seven mass in the morning and they are springing my sister from hospital to meet him at mass. The chances of this happening must be billions to one. About wonder drugs, well...but I am so glad she is getting to mass.
Will Pray now for your sister Padraig and her and all of your encounter with Spencer and Spencer. Amazing.
I have more hope for the mass than Spencer, I admit Enda. But the coincidence is amazing it must be billions to one...
Even so, God has his hand here somewhere and I look forward to maybe hearing how things go for you all, which will remind us to offer up more prayer also.
I feel like Our Lady is ten thousand steps ahead of me Enda. As though she is answering prayers I have never even had a chance to make..as though she is running in front of me. I have often had the experience in praying for folks with terminal illness of being gently refused. Yet when I pray for my sister I sense no such refusal..as yet. It is as though Our Lady has gotten her running shoes on . I care little enough for the body, but for the soul . As to the soul... my prayers are answered before I even ask. Thank you so much for all your prayers. Thank you Thank you Thank you.
...where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And all of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3: 17-18Came across this Bible verse in Adoration today - may Siobhan and all sufferers be transformed from one degree of glory to another.
We all prayed for Siobhan last night too Padraig and I'll put you both on the altar tonight at Consecration time.
Thanks so much for your prayers. I am kind of dumb struck at how our prayers are being answered. My sister turned up for mass this morning in the monastery , my brother took her from the hospital. If I had had to guess I would say it is maybe 40 years or more since Siobhain recieved the sacraments. I myself gave her the Precious Blood. I am sitting here with tears in my eyes recalling it, it is like a dream for me. What does it matter if the body dies if the soul lives? Again what does it matter if the body lives but the soul dies? I texted her there now saying I would pick her up from the hospital whenever she wanted to take her to mass every morning . Again she accepted! Astonishing. Luke 15:7 The Parable of the Lost Sheep …6"And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!' 7"I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
The American pharmaceutical guy turned up for mass this morning. Spencer , it turns out is not Catholic but a very devout Jewish guy from Brooklyn (now living in California)/, He wanted to go to the synagogue here in Belfast, he goes to pray every morning. But since we have few Jewish folks here the Temple does not open mornings so he came to Church to pray instead. A really wonderful person .We talked about the Shoah and forgiveness. I am afraid he was not big into forgiveness. But seeing how terrible the Holocaust was perhaps God will into be too hard on him. Spencer and my sister talked about the wonder drug. I may offer to take her to Lourdes , I believe she will be well open to this now, thanks to all your prayers. View attachment 2261
28 And we know that to them that love God, all things work together unto good, to such as, according to his purpose, are called to be saints.
Praying. Sorry to hear this Padraig. As others have said, it seems cancer is everywhere right now. May God shower his healing on your Sister.
In may ways I suppose being called home at the moment, with events soon to come , may in the future well may be regarded as a blessing.
Padraig, I have been praying for your sister as well as the rest of the forum. It's interesting to think that our idea of healing and God's can be different. We see things from such a limited human view. I often think when I die and all those times I thought 'why God?' and He will show things from his point of view and I'll say 'I get it now!' I have to say your family has such wonderful names. Are these traditional Irish names? God Bless!
