Bart, of course ISIS is real. No need to prove that. If you want the best look into their atrocities simply do a twitter hash tag search on #ISIS and concentrate what Kurdish leaders and Peshmerga are posting in real time.
Listen to this testimony of a Muslim : https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10204849308975393 And to the barbarians of ISIS, I say this :
In its most recent count (2014 conflict), the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reports that 2,104 Palestinians were killed in Gaza, including 1,462 civilians, among them 495 children and 253 women. Those U.N. numbers would mean that 69 percent of the total killed were civilians. Iraq Death Toll Reaches 500,000 Since Start Of U.S.-Led Invasion, New Study Says Oct. 2013 Where do those Islamic terrorist come from I wonder? Israel doesn't want peace and anyone saying otherwise is mislead IMO. They want the land all to themselves and will do whatever it take to get it. I can quote numerous high ranking Jewish people so you can see it in their own words but won't bother. They arn't the victims any longer. I don't hate anyone, I don't hate Jews and I am not anti-semetic. It's almost infuriating that people will spin Israel and U.S. (and Britian/Canada/E.U. etc.) illegal/immoral invasions causing massive deaths of innocent people as the right thing to do then act all surprised and horrified when they actually fight back. I have no love for Islam or their religion or the terrible things they do. ISIS is given legs by the media to further hate and division and fear. Blindly ignoring the evil done by all others also is sad and twisted in my view. It's the we are rightious in all things mentality that really is brainwashing. You can't shoot peace out the nozzle of a gun. You must talk. Let's do a country invasion count in the last 100 years by the main players.......no point.
All I know is that we ignored Al Queda in the 90's and we got 9/11. And I do not believe Isis is as bad as they are because of anything the US did, though I do believe it is because what we didn't do which was to keep a troop presence like we have after every other war. I am not here to debate the Iraq war in any event. As the 9/11 Commission said, they were at war with us before we were at war with them- and we still don't get it. The position of radical Islam is centuries old- just google the Battle of Lepanto. Pope Francis has said that halting Isis would fall within just war actions. As for Israel, all nations have the right of self defense- Hamas wants them annihilated and that is what they teach their children.
Just to be clear this is what Pope Francis said exactly......Thanks for such a clear question. In these cases where there is an unjust aggression, I can only say this: it is licit to stop the unjust aggressor. I underline the verb: stop. I do not say bomb, make war, I say stop by some means. With what means can they be stopped? These have to be evaluated. To stop the unjust aggressor is licit. As for 9/11 I don't want to start a debate in this but 2,243 Engineers and Architects have staked their very reputations on 9/11 not being true as told. The 50 story WTC 7 building fell into its own footprint (at 5PM) and was never hit by a plan. They say this is 100% impossible. It was imploded, wired ahead of time. You really think Muslims wired that building? Sorry it's the rabbit hole......not asking anyone to start down it....:O) Sorry, but do Palestinians get to defend themselves? Before you pull the Israel defending itself card....read these quotes...... http://www.rense.com/general77/disturb.htm
Yes, MMM for peace let's not go down the 9/11 rabbit hole. I live in the Northeast and it is a very sensitive subject for me and this is not the forum to discuss it. I do not believe in those type of conspiracy theories and never will- I believe Popular Mechanics has debunked your theory however that being said this is a spiritual forum and we are here to encourage one another in the faith so I will not discuss those theories any further. Blessings!
Mmm, I understand your position and some points are valid. The usa in the middle east ...made the mistake that democracy would work. But Israel is not the problem. Why didn't democracy work? The main reason is because their is no liberal or moderate muslims. You might disagree with this statement but it is true. In areas were common law is not protected - liberals and moderates are killed (murdered). Radical Islamists cannot accept liberal or moderate muslims. What dictators in that area have done for 100's of years is controlled its people by force. It took dictators to control its radical population. You can say that in our democracy people are controlled by force and i might agree. But for now, we allow liberals, moderates and conservatives to discuss, debate and protest without being killed. All Israel wants is land and they will do anything to take it. Israel is a tiny speck of land, it would be in my estimation less then 1% of the size of the usa. The Israelis actually gave up the land in Gaza strip to Palestinians ...giving up security to try to archive peace. That failed because all the extremist care more about, destroying Israel, then helping its people out of poverty. The Israelis live with the constant threat of bombings, missiles, kidnappings and other terrorist acts. If they took more land it would be to be used as a buffer to protect their nation from forces that want to destroy Israel. All the Jewish people want is to live in peace. I have written this before but it might shed light on some issues. Israel is the center of Gods world, we should not be that surprised that Israel is fighting to protect its people. Having said that, is it just to kill children...no it is not. My understanding of the scripture states that woman with children will suffer in those final days. The world is becoming darker and darker, Israel understands that the whole world is against them. Therefore, they have to do, what the have to do, to survive. I used to be a believer that if Israel went away... we would have peace, but a lieutenant in the Mossad told me "look how small Israel is, it is surrounded by many nations and millions of people that wants to destroy her, but Gods nation holds them back. If Israel falls, all the Muslims in the world will be united and will begin to expand jihad to the whole world". Something special is happening but it is not about warnings or worldly prophets...it is about saving souls. Prayers, sacrifice and the sacraments ...is all that Our Blessed Mother is telling us to do. In the eternal conflict, the only thing that is important... is each and everyone of our souls. May Gods Will be Done
Whatever religion, whatever purpose, when 'they' start doing suicide bombings in Europe, you will know who the enemy is. When it starts happening in the U.S. I can guarantee that every Joe with a pickup truck and a gun will round up everyone who goes to a mosque and march them to the southern border. It will have to be a HUGE upset and paralyze the nation for nothing to be done...
9/11 off the table, I only went there since it was mentioned first. Obviously we could debate this topic forever and I certainly like to voice my opinion (when I strongly disagree) and I respect other's opinions fully. My vantage point with the studying I've done trying to be as unbiased and balanced as possible (impossible) sees things a little differently. I won't keep rambling my view pointlessly as it doesn't add to our faith or bring peace on the board. Thanks for taking time to respond fallen saint and others to my comments. We are far apart in our views of world events but that is what makes it interesting. You can't learn without discussing and looking at all sides. The sad part in this world now is right and wrong are no longer considered definitive (like they ever were). Anything can now be justified whether right or wrong. I'm certain God will reward/punish people individually based on their own actions and consciences dispite what any of us think personally. The more fundamental question is does God value me more then a young Palistinian child? Logic should answer yes, I am a baptisted, practising Catholic. BUT I don't think this way and I would argue God doesn't either....therefore I simply can't allow the God's favorities(choosen/elect), whether Christian or Jew to place themselves/ourselves above others simply because of who from or where they were born. It's prideful and arguably racist. Peace out.
So, did anyone of you forward my video to a Muslim or to newspapers ? We have to evangelize.... https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10204849308975393
Yes of course Padraig, they will strike us down (if we do not pray enough) but the blood of martyrs is the seed of the Church (Tertullian). P.S. Padraig are you becoming a fatalist ?
The major difference between Mohammed and Jesus is that Mohammed exhorts his followers to commit acts of violence against those who will not convert to Islam and Jesus allows for freewill. Jesus asks his followers to be peacemakers and Mohammed asks his followers to commit to Jihad. I am always unsure why commentators try to equate the two.
I would say the major difference between Jesus and Mohammed is that Jesus is God and Mohammed is not.
Here more info: As a Muslim imam (!), Mario Joseph was well-versed in the Koran and in the teachings of the Islamic religion. In fact, it was precisely the Koran that brought him to an encounter with Jesus Christ and with the truth of the Catholic faith. But his conversion did not come without difficulties; as a consequence, he has undergone grave persecution. How has he attained his intense love toward the Church, the Cross and Heaven? He himself tells us in this week's impacting episode of Changing Tracks. This is the complete version: And here we find the written text of this video: http://www.turnbacktogod.com/jesus-in-the-quran/
Well obviously, yes. However my point was focusing on developing the argument that so many people use today : Oh but the Christians launched the crusades. My point was that they were not urged to do so by their leader. Muslims by contrast are. Mohammed by example urged his followers in the Hadith to convert people by the sword.
