I thought this was a really beautiful story. It's very rare and takes lots of courage for a Muslim to publicly do what this mother did. I think it demonstrates that love, especially of a mom, no matter what the world might say is the most powerful force in the world. She knew her sons happiness and his vocation in life was in becoming a Catholic priest. This was more important to her than what may now happen to her and her family - very courageous and I can't help but think how Our Lady and Her Son are beaming and now blessing both this new priest and his mom. http://www.cbcpnews.com/cbcpnews/?p=66136
This can be a matter of life and death for Muslims. It is another example of the small cracks beginning to appear in Dar-al-Islam, which was almost unknown until very recently. From what I have read it seems to be a result primarily of three factors: 1). Direct intervention in the soul of the convert by either Our Lord or Our Lady. 2). Revulsion on the part of some Muslims with Islamist atrocities. 3). An increase in the availability of the Koran in the vernacular, so that people can actually read it! I wonder has anyone got more examples?
