Pretty interesting Brian. The one studied showed that a week after this type of CO2 was released in India in 2007, a huge earthquake took place one week later. I know this is not exact science and certainly can be coincidental, but I looked ahead to the reading if March 3rd (one week after the initial release of gas). The reading is to out it bluntly quite remarkable should something happen (and I'm praying it does not). Also, remember that this Friday is the first Friday of month. This is the horror we've been living through here in our diocese for decades. Because of our involvement in trying to get this disgusting rot removed from our diocese, myself and several others were branded "enemies of the diocese" by the previous bishop. A near-heretical trust in psychology by so many bishops and theologians has been catastrophic. These men weren't sick, they were sinning. Yet, instead of repentance and being removed indefinitely from occasions of sin they were "treated" for an "illness" for which there isn't the slightest empirical evidence of its existence, were assumed to be "cured" and returned to contact with the very prey they hungered for. Badness is a lot more prevalent than madness.
The question is begged, why has the Catholic Church behaved so weakly with respect to what is reputed to be "science"? Why bow the knee to pseudo-science such as psychology, psychiatry, social science, anthropology and so on, most of which hasn't the slightest evidence to support it and amounts to mere ideological speculation? In contrast, the Church increasingly sees her eternal Truths failing to be contradicted by, and indeed confirmed by, developments in the empirically-dependent hard sciences. The recent discoveries in gravitation, affirming the theories of Einstein, come on top of multiple discoveries such as those of Lemaitre and Godel which provide enormous rational support for the idea of the Divine, yet many of our Church leaders and intellectuals seem to apologetically grovel towards the secularists, giving the impression that their beliefs are " medieval" and really a bit out-dated for our sophisticated, know-it-all, theory-of-everything scientism.
I know the "end" has got to be near when I read a Rep. Gov. In a very conservative state like SD vetoes a bill that simply says people of the sane sex should use the sane bathroom. But no, nit even this. So now, some guy who thinks he's a girl can walk into the same bathroom or locker room as my 17 y/o daughter. It's just nuts. How much more does God allow before He acts. I can answer this question by asking another question: Is alcoholism an illness or a moral failing? For decades if not centuries, alcohol addiction was considered a moral failing. It was only when it stopped being viewed as such that effective treatments were created. Unfortunately, because of this, things like homosexuality began being seen and treated not as moral failures (i.e., sinful) but as something else. (And make no mistake about it: these actions by these priests are a result of homosexuality, not as pedophilia. True pedophiles prefer victims who are prepubescent and usually do not fixate on a particular gender. The great majority of these cases are of males selecting young pubescent boys. In these cases "pedophilia" is the legal term for sex with someone under the age of legal consent. From a psychological standpoint, the correct phrase is "eubophilia" which is a sexual attraction to someone who has reached puberty but is not yet an adult, i.e., between 12 and 17 years old)
Agree with you on all points. I think that the whole scandal was portrayed by the political/media establishment as paedophilia to divert responsibility from homosexuality in the eyes of the general public. If there was a case involving young girls it received proportionately much greater publicity. This mendacious stance has been a great success. When most people think of child abuse they associate it with Catholic priests now, not with homosexuality. Also, it's much easier to be an alcoholic, drug addict or even "sex addict" if one is being told one can't help it. Personal responsibility becomes irrelevant.

Sorry Crewdog, I can't believe that lice is any worse than it was 25-50 years ago. The only thing that has changed is that we have more kids in public school classrooms. 30 kids in one room is a lot. People have more indoor animals now than ever before. The animals bring them in along with fleas and mites. Personally, I would rather have lice than fleas. Been there, done that. Almost had a nervous breakdown!! We have better pesticides./hair products to kill them all now. Scabies on ships/slavery and VD were rampant years ago. The bed bug epidemic is rather bad in America however. Even in very nice uptown hotels. We do a lot of 'touching' of things and pass stuff around. The gas pump, door handles, grocery carts, money etc.

One has survived from an intense fire that destroyed a house completely in Dracena: The other remained untouched after the fall of the roof in a chapel of a community center in Assis: Our Lady Aparecida is the patroness of Brazil.
