Every word that Robert speaks on the crisis in the church is true. It's shocking that the Pope publishes a book on the feast of St Joseph that gives the OK to same sex unions. The Bishops need to step up and call out heresy. Collegiatey in the Bishops in Ireland has silenced them all. I pray for the church every day and every day I meet good people who now accept same sex unions as being good. We who say otherwise will be persecuted. Where are our spiritual leaders? It's all so sad.
Catholics still have the weapons we have always had: prayer, fasting, alms giving. For many there is the possibility of daily mass, regular communion and confession. There there is Our Lady's weapon, the rosary. There is time to read the scripture and go through the catechism. The church needs saints now more than ever. We should take every opportunity we can to ask God to send us saints. We should even try to become saints ourselves.
We can know the truth but we must not accept condemned locutions for the sake of our soul. We don’t need a locution.
It is sad...I went to a funeral for a co-worker a little over 10 years ago; an Anglican service. I went out of respect for her as she had been through some very very difficult times. Well, the "mass" was offered by a "woman priest" & the woman "server" was introduced as her "partner". The whole service was nothing but a mockery of all things Catholic - she literally made fun of Catholics all thru the "service"~ at "communion" time it was stated point blank that "all here are welcome to receive, unlike other places".....My supervisor, a Catholic, was enthralled and ran up to receive. Many people I had known for years were clapping in approval. I was enraged.....That was my last "ecumenical" excursion......... I don't understand what they mean by "missionary church". I no longer care to understand, tbh. So I'll stay in my own Catholic lane, go to Mass, confession, etc and do what I can for whomever shows up at my door. Collegiality is a plague upon our house, and there's no vaccine for it except prayer.
I think we were given a sign from heaven on the Pope's birthday when the halo and the keys were blown to smithereens from the statue of St Peter outside a church in Argentina. Honestly Pope Francis has lost his moral authority by promoting heresy. This is a scandal. I have grandchildren who are now exposed to this heresy every day in their school programs. I can say I'm alright I continue to go to Mass and the sacraments but if I don't speak the truth and tell them the Pope is wrong on this where does that leave them. We can't hide behind niceties and theological waffle and allow people to be taken by the nose to hell. It's time now to call it out.
What you say is true. We are being punished with scandal after scandal. But Jesus warns us not to be " scandalized" and lose our faith. He also warns that those who bring such scandal would be better off with a millstone around their necks and thrown into the sea. These are dire words from Our Lord. Robert Nugent is a good devout Catholic man. I am surprised by his sudden turn around. As brutal as it is we simply cannot accept these locutions under these circumstances. This is an excruciating test of obedience. We are being chastised by bad priests. The worst punishment God can send according to St John Eudes. I am sick at heart over the state of things. Tomorrow I am going to go to Adoraton and then on to Confession. And I am offering the suffering to the Sacred Heart. And increasing my Rosaries as best I can. We are being scourged as a Church. Pummeled. Scorned. Mocked. By many of our shepherds as well as by the world. My heart aches for all of us and for all our good priests and bishops. We fly to thy patronage O holy Mother of God. Despise not our necessities but save us from all danger O most glorious ever Virgin Mary.
Yes every word you say is true. We are suffering a a scourging. For the sake of the sheep in my little space I feel I have to say what I think about the Pope's recent pronouncements. He has crossed a red line into encouraging sinful lives that will lead people to hell. I don't believe 'obedience and silence' in the face of such is a good choice anymore.
I see the local Bishop has removed that poor deluded priest's faculties and is trying to get his hands on their property. You could see this coming a mile off: https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/a...est-for-publishing-alleged-heavenly-messages/
Has Robert nugent endorsed them? I see he has a number of YouTube videos but they are too long for me to watch ast they are often not very clear.
I thought so and it is strange as previously he did everything not to hint at criticism of the pope then goes all in to endorse a position that as far as I have understood says that Francis is the usurper etc
I wonder if the priest would be humble enough to accept his punishment from his bishop, or "accuse" his bishop of something new from his "locutions."
What Cardinal Burke is doing is not silence. He is crying out to Heaven, asking Our Lady to lead us, to help us as she did so long ago. Cardinal Burke spoke publicly when it was time to issue the Dubia. Now he is petitioning with other Catholics to the highest authority. He does not complain of unjust punishment, but bears his sufferings meekly. He is my model for how to deal with what the Church faces.
We can't be obedient to sin. We have to call it out. You are right about that. We all have to stand for the truth. What we can't do is --at least I cant' is give credence to these locutions that are condemned by the local bishop. And it's a hard thing because they seem to speak what we all think and fear and suspect.
I agree with this concept of submission to proper authority. However, I see that the Church has extended the discernment process of Synodality once more: at least another year into 2025. It also appears that a liturgical role for women that will not include ordination is on the table.* I recall a conversation I had last year with one of our members, PNF, concerning when extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion (which included both males and females) were added to canon law. I have to admit that his concern that a creeping expansion of female roles in the Church could lead to ordination, has more credence now than I thought then. *It was on the most recent Return to Tradition clip, but I can't locate it now.
Interesting God-incidence -- I actually listened to that video as I did my groceries earlier this morning! Here you go: I do not understand why they are extending this synod, though. What is the point?
These mdm locutions are irrelevant to me. Pope Francis has gone into heresy with his endorsement of homosexual relationships. Comparing priests or bishops who object to P F to Padre Pio is comparing apples and oranges. Padre Pio suffered from a bishop who outwardly supported church doctrine but privately lived differently. Jesus said listen to their words but do not copy their actions. Here we have PF and his circle preaching apostatesy. We cannot listen to their words or obey them. I pray for the church and the Pope all the time but time to call a spade a spade.
