I wonder if Our Lady could be referring to Matthew 26, because here Jesus prays in Aramaic at night. They also went out to the mount of olives, and the pilgrims have been called to the top of apparition hill. Jesus also told the apostles to watch.

This prompts a thought that ALL of Jesus’ words from the Cross were in Aramaic. Mary was at foot of the Cross then and will be at it when the Church and world experience its Calvary. Who knows, maybe we are getting very close to this moment. Like her I hope we can embrace it knowing it leads to salvation. Peace.

I was thinking along the lines of this, in that the mystical body of Christ might be about to go through it's passion.

What a hardship and personal loss! Eternal rest grant to him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him!

One thing that I found curious about tonight’s apparition was that the Bishop removed his zucchetto during the apparition. I did not see him do that last night. Does anyone know what the significance of this might be?

Just did a quick search, it could be out of reverence.

  9. My mother in law has been suffering with Alzheimer's for a few years,. She is 96.

Last week she started saying Hail Mary's and Our Fathers constantly with her head down and eyes closed.

A lifelong Catholic, I have never know her to recite the rosary.

Our Lady is marshaling her forces.

When I learned about Medjugorje about 30 years ago I was fasting on Friday as Our Lady asked. She noticed, and asked if I was fasting for Peace! Yes.

I don't think she ever heard about Medjugorje. A kind, gentle woman, who only missed Sunday Mass once in her life...until she became sick.

Yes, a friend sent it to me on WhatsApp. I have problems posting images on the forum. I will send it to Padraig directly and maybe he could post

I didn't see John's original post. I will pray for his cousin and her husband's soul today.

Sounds like mom. Doesn’t know who I am, but has verses of liturgy of the hours in memory and rosary. The spirit is also taken care of, even if the mind goes. God is good.

Yes, Hail Marys non-stop; like the desert fathers of old praying non-stop the Jesus prayer!

When praying my Hail Mary beads during my Rosary with Geralyn, I love to place myself at first in Nazareth (Gabriel's words: Hail full of grace, the Lord is with you). and then in Judah where Elizabeth greets Mary (Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.)

One question I have will have to wait for heaven: when Elizabeth asks, "Who am I that the mother of my Lord should come to me?", does "my Lord" refer to Jesus as the restored Davidic King or as the Lord of all? What was in Elizabeth's mind? I read one article by a Jewish Catholic biblical scholar who favored the first position.

I'm glad heaven is forever; my list of questions is really long!:LOL:

Carmelite, I saw the picture you're referring to, on Facebook. The actual statue of BVM on the apparition hill is all in white color, one hand positioned near her Immaculate Heart and her other hand is extended outward.
The 'reflected' image shown on her glasses depicted of BVM image in blue/white with both of her hands extended outward.
    Is this the picture, Carmelite?

Thank you Catherine L, the image on the glasses does appear different from the statue.

THE EXTRAORDINARY GESTURE OF THE BISHOP BEFORE THE APPARITION
For the second time a Bishop participates in the Novena of prayer and apparitions on the Hill in Medjugorje. They say he comes from the "martyred land" of Ukraine, he prayed a decade in his mother tongue. Last night when Marija announced that she would begin the prayer (7 Pater, Ave and Gloria) because the moment of the apparition was approaching, "our" Bishop took off his pileolus.(the zucchetto). It is an extraordinary gesture that recalls Mass and Adoration. In fact, the Bishop removes his pileolus from when the prayers of Consecration begin and puts it back on after Communion; similarly the Bishop (including the Pope) remains without his pileouls during Eucharistic Adoration. Therefore, taking off the pileolus during the apparition means recognizing the living presence of Mary. He, the Bishop, does not see the Madonna, but She, the Madonna, sees him. The bare-headed bishop realized that he was in front of the Mother of God, Queen of Peace. It is moving to see him pray intensely and humbly for peace, for his peaceless land. Thank you Excellency for your example and testimony
