That is a beautiful testimony, MS. I love the story about the angels and the priest feeling pressure on his head. I also love that many people noted flash of light on her arrival. You are fortunate to have your daughter with you. Both my sons ages 22 and 25 have left the church. I pray for them every day like St Monica......They were so involved as children and teens and went to college and that was it. Ivan is coming to NJ in April and I am planning to go. When I was in Bosnia in 93, Ivan was on military duty so I didn't see him at all. So it will be nice to see him in person. Thanks for the great news!

"Two giant angels went up with Ivan as he knelt by the priest who led the rosary. The angels enveloped both of them in a bubble of protection said this person."

Are these angels you saw or the person you were with? I'm beginning to believe I'm the only one who doesn't see visions!

    God Bless!

Don't worry Bernadette, there's at least two of us! ;)

It's not so bad, though... Remember what Jesus said: "Blessed are they who have not seen and have believed." Jn 20:29.

Padraig - I heard Ivan speak for an hour when I was in Medjugorje - no notebook; no nothing - spoke straight from the heart and from the messages which he clearly lives - it was poetry to my ears - he has a depth of understanding that flows and flows from living the messages. I would say he is a living saint. I also noticed a strain of sadness too in that the burden of the secrets must be very great indeed - and in addition the poor man knows the date of his death, which is one of his secrets. I have heard many speeches and sermons & yet I can still hear him call us to conversion from the little stage he spoke from. The grace of Medjugorje is very great indeed.

That is my concern too Freedom. The conclave is supposed to be sacred. As sacred as the confessional. This is concerning on so many levels... If false, why believed? If true, oh no! For so many reasons..

Bernadette, you have a rock solid faith which God loves you for so very much. One of his little ones that continues to love without the above consolations. Amazing faith! You will be well rewarded for your faithfulness. (y)

"Happy are those who have not seen but yet believe."

I am sure that this statement applies to those without visions etc too.

I can see our God delighting in you. :D

    Hello, MotherSuperior7.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful experience. Years ago, I was able to hear Jakov speak. That was pretty amazing. He seemed quite down to earth and humble to me.
I have not figured out how to send a PM to anyone yet, but I wanted to ask you about your daughter who is pregnant and due in July. How did she do on the airplane? Did she have to get special permission or something from her doctor before flying? I am due in August and wanted to go on a pilgrimage to Medjugorie but was told (cannot recall who from) that I should not fly because of the altitude or something.
Whatever information you could provide would be helpful.
    God bless,
    ~Rae

  11. Rae, Border Collie showed me how to PM--you press the avatar of the person you want to PM. My daughter is 33 wks pregnant and the doc said she could fly until her 3rd trimester. I would defiantly ask the doc about the trip. Buy extra temporary health insurance and I don't know anything about the altitude and the health of the baby...

Ladies, who are pregnant - if there is no acute need to fly it is best for you and your child NOT to put you both under the unnecessary stress. Flying overseas is not a small risk for your health - pregnancy is a hypercoagulable state and even without flying you have increased risk of trombi, not to even mentioning the tight seats with legs down for couple of hours. There are more risks involved but I do not want to cut&paste the whole OB/GYN textbook with scary words.
pregnancy is a natural state, but it needs to be very protected. It is enough stress if one has to work, without maternity leaves before the due date.
Please, please, please, be careful and thoughtful.

  14. Oh Padraig, he was just like you and me--! Only Yugoslavian! He and I spoke of our deceased spiritual Fathers and how we missed them. His spiritual father was Fr. ? (the name escapes me now..) but he is dead and died on the stations of the cross going up cross mountain. He was a very holy man. Our Lady had given a message regarding his holiness and how he was with her in heaven now...Ivan has a spiritual director in Boston and one in Medjugorje.

Ivan was very easy going at lunch, he was tired from his trip to Buenos Aires. We laughed a lot and I had a very nice talk with his interpreter (we exchanged email addresses:p ) She was from Medjugore and was in the town when the apparitions happened and speaks perfect Chicago English and she lives in that area now--she also used to be the interpreter for Fr. Zlatko Sudac (pronounced "Sue-dots"), who is in the Chicago area also. http://angkahayag.blogspot.com/2012/07/kaban-ni-mulong-ang-stigmata-ni-pads.html

My daughters were saying goodbye to him and one daughter went to kiss his hand ( I'm not sure why, she just didn't know what to do and you do that to a priest not a lay person...) and he pulled it away and said, "NO! Do not kiss my hand. Pope Francis not have anyone kiss his hand, you don't kiss my hand..." I think some thing got mixed up in the translation and thats what it sounded like, but I think I am wrong, because either Pope Francis is not having anyone kiss his hand now, or when Ivan met him Cardinal Jorge might have taken Ivan's hands and in a friendly gesture, he might have kissed Ivans hands like a parent would do and he was relishing the thought of his hand being kissed by such a holy Cardinal/Pope. I am only speculating and I should not even mention it here because it sounds superficial, but at the moment it was an humble act. It was an AWKWARD moment for my daughter and bless her heart, she was trying to be respectful. We Americans are always sticking our feet in our mouths...lol:confused: There was a huge long line in the front of the Church when we got there and one of the men who was at lunch was teasing Ivan about going and getting in line with the people. We were walking through the back and thru the Priest's rectory in the back of the Church. We were laughing at the facial expressions Ivan was making because he really has to be careful because people push, pull, you name it, on him and accost him. One of the guys was offering him a hundred dollars to go get in line and he was saying,"I could use a hundred dollars for my children! But I'm not getting in that line!" It really was a crack up moment. You know Vicka has had to have several surgeries because people pull on her arms and hurt her. Sister Bridg McKenna used to have body guards because people used to cut her habit and pull at her. The pain of not having true friends is such a burden. He really has to be able to discern friendships like anyone else. All in all, if you ever get tired of telling your children or your dog (padraig) to do something, or how to do something etc. think of the visionaries. They have had to repeat themselves every day since 1981. THAT TO ME DESERVES SAINTHOOD! As a mother of 7 I now tell the youngest that so and so had that same problem, go talk to that sibling! I get so tired of repeating myself!! Then again, look at our poor blessed Mother who never tires of correcting and loving us and repeating to us to get up off our duff and PRAY!

Thank you MotherSuperior7 and Insearch, for your responses. I will probably not be able to go on pilgrimage overseas anyway since the opportunity has passed. Hubby probably wouldn't let me anyway.;)
I will be careful. I'm so happy you were able to have this opportunity, Mothersuperior7.
Surely, God willing, I will get the opportunity again in the future.

Bobby ,I never knew Ivan had been told the date of his death! Do you know do the other visionaries know there death date! What strange wonderful times we live in.

Marti I suppose it cannot be easy for them. Travelling round the world may be a novelty at first but I am sure they are getting a little tired of it. What a wonderful vocation they have though. Wonderful , really wonderful.

    Padraig,

I am extremely sorry for the off-topic, but I can not find any place on the forum with reports of who and why were banned. I see Mary's Child was banned just minutes ago( her avatar changed while I was reading one of the threads) and if it is not against the rules, can you either link it to the place were this is discussed or just tell us why? Thank you.

I know each of the visionaries will eventually have ten secrets each and they may well be different but not aware if others know date of death. Our Lady showed Ivan his whole life !!

Ivan entered the seminary shortly after the apparitions began but experienced great difficulties, not only academically, but emotionally and spiritually as well. “During the time I spent in the ‘Little Seminary’ in Dubrovnik, I suffered very much, truly, very much, because of my relations with my colleagues and professors. (Those in the seminary did not believe Ivan was seeing Our Lady and so he was constantly mocked and scorned.) Regarding all the problems I had then, Our Lady said, “Don’t worry. I will guide you through your life.” Our Lady then asked Ivan if he wished Her to show him his future. “She revealed my future to me—until my death. My personal future is my secret. Only I know it. First, Our Lady asked me whether or not She should tell me. I’m sorry Our Lady revealed my personal future to me.[But] I’m content now and not afraid, because I know who guided me. Now, I look to the Mother who guides me, and I live in complete contentment.

How did cardinals choose Pope Francis? First accounts leak from conclave

    http://www.catholicculture.org/news/headlines/index.cfm?storyid=17352
    CWN - March 18, 2013
According to the first accounts to emerge about the March 2013 papal conclave, the cardinals chose Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio after it became clear that other candidates--notably including the perceived favorite, Cardinal Angelo Scola of Milan--did not command enough support to win election.
The early accounts, based on reports from unnamed cardinals, indicate that Cardinal Bergoglio received a surprising show of support on the cardinals' first ballot, taken on the opening day of the conclave. When other candidates failed to demonstrate solid support, the cardinals swung toward the Argentine prelate, the reports say.
All reports from the conclave are evidently based on disclosures by participants who have violated their oath to preserve the secrecy of the deliberations.

Don't worry if I do ban someone you'll hear me yapping at them first warning them and then letting you know afterwards they're caput.:) Like I always do.
