Lee & Mario, This is so WEIRD!!! Well, I don't know why it surprises me, but God's signs still do. That you said this, Lee...something to focus on! Our priest actually called our house tonight, and he asked us if we could help with getting some information together for the parishiners of our two churches for Divine Mercy Sunday! Also for the novena! Well, my wheels spun and I hit the internet and found some great printable sheets and pamphlets, for starters. Plus, I just happened to visit a Poor Clare Nuns convent the other day and remembered seeing a lot of Divine Mercy materials in their little "shop"...and Father was looking for more of the red pamphlets. I am sure they have a bunch, so I will be heading over there tomorrow to get some. What is funny is when I was there a couple of days ago, a little nun asked me if I needed any divine mercy materials (I was getting some holy water pamphlets from them for the church), and I told her no! Guess she knew something I didn't! :? I printed some of the stuff I found online for our priest to look at and will make whatever he wants to put out. So I have been "focusing" on the divine mercy all night tonight, and now I just got on the forum and look what I found here! LOL :lol:
It's true we live in stupendous times. I feel like a child again waiting for Christmas. But part of me is older and just wants things to stay the same forever. But I know this is the selfish part....

I remember the words of General Maiximus in the film, 'Gladiotor' because they seem so very spirtually true. he said, 'The deeds we do now will echo in Eternity'. If I didn't believe there was a hell and many, many souls stood in danger of falling therein I could not for a moment comprehend whewre heaven is coming from at the minute. I just found this, it is from the first Medjugorje conference that my husband and I attended in 2007. We were lucky to receive a blessing that day by Fr. Petar. Fr. Petar Ljubicic Speaks About the Secrets The following question was asked at the Panel Discussion at the Notre Dame Medjugorje Conference on 5/27/07: Question: Do you have any thoughts about when the secrets will be revealed? Fr. Petar: We are in the process of patiently waiting for when that’s going to take place. From the very beginning Our Lady was preparing Mirjana how she would reveal those secrets. I was present several times on such discussions Our Lady had with Mirjana. I saw she was crying sometimes, and my question was, “Why are you crying?” She said, “I am crying because what She’s announcing that would take place - it’s no good, it’s very serious.” As I look into the situation in which the world is today, I have the feeling that this should take place very soon. The world cannot go on as it is, under the present condition. Something has to take place. Some intervention from Heaven has to take place. It appears as though everything is going towards perdition, but we know that for those that love, God works for good in all events, because God can even write in crooked lines the right way. What I would like to emphasize is what is most important – that we should not look for the time when it would take place, but put emphasis on: Are we ready to face it when it does take place? Fr. Petar: Yes, no matter what is taking place in nature and in the world there would be different opinions about it. But we Catholics have a different kind of opinion. We have learned and know that God is our loving Father, that He loves us, as Our Lady would say. But then take an earthly father for example. He does whatever he can do so his children will be fulfilled and happy. But, you see, the children refuse, the children want to live their own lives. They don’t listen to the wish of the father. For tsunami maybe we can say this: “This for me is God’s call to conversion because we were saved just a few seconds from total destruction of the area where we were. Instead of celebrating with Holy Mass the birth of Jesus, we decided to go there and enjoy life. I did not go there to sin as many others did go there to sin. All during these future holy days I shall never go anywhere, but be home. I will pray for those who do not know that, to be converted, but I will stay here.” I see some of these events as a warning of God that we would convert and that we would turn to God. I desire not to say that this is God’s punishment. I would say it is a caution, a warning by God to us. God is saying, “Man, be ready.” Make it well with God because tonight might be too late. That’s what’s important for us. Many are now prophesizing that many disasters will take place in the world, but let’s not speculate about that. What’s important is that we know where we are coming from, what we need to do, and where we are geared to go. We come from God, for God and our neighbor we live, and then we go to God. So in that manner it is important when we will encounter our Maker, but how happy we will be when He comes to meet us and takes us to be with Him for all eternity. But it’s important to emphasize to our children: “You see, dear children, there are many who are losing their lives on the road. Tsunami comes, Katrina comes, and you’re gone. Therefore, make your life right in alignment with God NOW. Your mom and your dad desire to be in Heaven with you someday and that’s not a fairy tale. Now I am dedicating my life, my children, my future, my family, my troubles, my sickness to You for Your glory.” And therefore, I dare to say, you are helping Jesus so that He and His grace may save you and your family. One family had a son who was a drunkard. They were in Lourdes and Fatima. When they came to Medjugorje finally this is what they told me: the son had encountered a car accident because he was under the influence of alcohol. He came to Medjugorje. He was converted. He had a call to become a priest, and he became a priest. Two years ago he was ordained, and now he’s in Romania as a missionary. This family said, “In a special way we were praying at the moment of Consecration and lifting him up and consecrating him to Jesus so that Jesus could make him holy. Because of alcohol he was already shaken. You see what God can do!” Pray! God is ready to act!

The secrets are to be announced to the world but the first THREE secrets are involved with Medjugorje only?? The 1st two secrets are warnings connected to Medjugorje & the third [visible sign]. 'And they [forst 2 secrets] will be a warning of that which is to take place' --- many [parishoners of St James] will be surprised --- etc I am really intrigued that Fr Petar says he will only celebrate Holy Days at home offering the Mass for those who do not know to convert that is the unbelievers -- that --- interesting that the Great Tsunami of 2004 occurred on a Holy Day [St Stephen's Day] and on a Sunday --- when many were 'holidaying' & partying not obeying the command to worship God & keep the Sabbath Holy - they were not ready to meet God. Some even went to those areas to sin [child abuse/prostitution etc]. How many were caught unawares -- this is the future -- many will be caught unawares: I sense most of us on the Forum had a 'great & holy' lent because we took it serious - Fr Petar is warning us to treat the rest of our lives seriously like an extended Lent & to focus on our own personal conversion. Get Ready is the message -- convert before it is too late --- and our Lady says we be glad for all eternity that we took her messages to heart.
Yes, this interview, and the one in 2009, makes me wonder how much he already knows? He seems to have a pretty good idea in his head, that he is trying to talk around. Both he and Mirjana have said the first two secrets will affect the people in Medjugorje, which makes me think more and more that the "warning" we are waiting for is not one of the first two Medjugorje secrets...but then again, if you read it carefully, they do not say that it will affect ONLY those in Medjugorje, they just say it will affect Medjugorje. But, that said, their words seem to imply a localized event to me. I thought he was speaking for a survivor of the tsunami, not for himself. He was saying that a survivor of the tsunami should now say this...and that we all should say this. We should stay home during Christmastime and go to church and not spend it vacationing and lounging and doing sinful things and forgetting about God...the tsunami occurred on Christmas weekend, on December 26. How many playing on the beach that day were in a church paying respects to Jesus the day before? I am watching the Weather Channel as I write this, seeing images of terrible destruction in Oklahoma and North Carolina and many other places. And the next wave is brewing as I type, appearing to be setting up to hit closer to my home...closer either to me in Northern IL or to my daughter in Southern IL. There will be no Warning this spring, after all. I have taken a new view of this whole topic: the combination of a deeper understanding of the Divine Mercy revelation, and my revamped view of scriptural and historic precedents of how God's mercy trumps His judgment, leads me to conclude that none of us should be looking to specific dates - whether for the Warning, the Miracle, or anything else. It's like Our Lady told Fr. Gobbi: those looking for specific dates may be trying to put limits on God's infinite mercy! This is not to say that the Warning, the Miracle, etc., will never happen - on the whole, I'm fairly confident they will still occur in this decade. How, then, are we to understand such specific parameters, like the ones Our Lady of Garabandal gave for the Miracle? This wasn't the first time she did it: she gave very specific dates at La Salette in 1846, too. At least one commentator, Ron Conte, Jr., has speculated that the dates she gave at La Salette were based on the Islamic calendar, because none of the worst things that she prophesied about France and Italy have yet come to pass, and these events must be in the future even now. But I now see it differently: the secrets of La Salette did in fact conern then-current events: specifically, the ramifications of the Europe-shaking Revolution of 1848, which severely weakened the Church's traditional authority over millions of peasants and workers throughout the continent, and would set off the most severe nationalist rivalries Europe had yet witnessed between its major powers, particularly in light of how the established powers of France and Austria would be threatened by the sudden rise of a unified Germany and Italy. So in other words, the semi-apocalyptic prophecies concerning Paris and Marseilles can be seen as conditional: the Marian revival of mid-19th century France, spurred by Our Lady's apparitions at Rue du Bac, La Salette and Lourdes, did much to moderate the catastrophes that would befall France. As we know, Paris was still besieged and occupied by German troops in the 1870 Franco-Prussian War, and subsequently suffered the insurrection of the Paris Commune (the first true Communist insurrection in Europe). Thanks to Our Lady's intercession and a dramatic increase in Eucharistic Adoration, though, France ended the 19th century still relatively strong in the faith. Likewise for Rome and the Papacy itself: it's true that the rise of Italian nationalism in the 1850s and Italy's unification in the 1860s stripped then-Holy Father Pius IX of much temporal authority as the sovereign Bishop of Rome, and for a period he was truly at the mercy of Emperor Napoleon III and the Italian secular nationalists, but this situation, too, was greatly mitigated through prayer, reparation and Adoration. Rome did not end the 19th century becoming the seat of an anti-Christ installed and supported by secular authorities: the Pope maintained his position there, if even the bare minimum to keep the Papacy functioning as the spiritual head of European Catholicism. All this reminds me of the scriptural precedent of Jonah: the city of Nineveh was declared to be forty days away from judgment, only to repent and be spared. Indeed, God seems to have a way with dates and timetables: He puts them out only to surprise fearful humanity with the depth of His mercy and willingness to forget injuries. So in this light, we can see the Warning of Garabandal and the secrets of Medjugorje as anything but set-in-stone future events: they've been put out there to lend weight to the gravity of our spiritual and temporal situation, but ultimately they're an invitation into an even greater confidence and trust in the Divine Mercy.

Mirjana has read the parchment. She knows the dates of the first three Medjugorje secrets for the world (and maybe more). 2. Conchita knows the date of the miracle. Therefore, she also knows the year in which the warning will occur. 3. Ivan has been told by Mary he would live to see the permanent sign. 4. Joey must be alive because he has been given a promise. 5. Fr. Petar must be alive because he has been given a responsibility. 6. Ivanka has a biography of Mary to reveal to us when the time is right. 7. Vicka has said many things to indicate events will be occuring sooner, not later, such as this recent quote from Lee's post: Vicka: "Gospa asks us to pray for the Pope, bishops and priests, the whole church needs prayers. In a special way pray for one plan that is supposed to be realized soon." The world and all the news media are already poised and ready for the beatification...not expecting anything else...what a surprise (and confirmation) to the entire world if a supernatural event also occurred on this Divine Mercy Sunday, May 1, 2011. St. Faustina: "As I was praying for Poland, I heard the words: I bear a special love for Poland, and if she will be obedient to My will, I will exalt her in might and holiness. From her will come forth the spark that will prepare the world for My final coming" (1732, Diary). There are so many significant things associated with this May 1, 2011 as others have already mentioned. I have decided to make a list: 1. Divine Mercy Sunday 2. It is a Sunday, so many people will be with their families. 3. Beatification of Pope John Paul II 4. It is May Day (or as some say, Mary Day) - Originally a celebration of spring and the rebirth taking place in nature, it is the day we now crown Mary as the May-Queen in churches around the world. 5. It is the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker - On May 1, 1955, Pope Pius XII granted a public audience to the Catholic Association of Italian Workers, whose members had gathered in Saint Peter’s Square to celebrate the tenth anniversary of their society. They were solemnly renewing, in common, their promise of loyalty to the social doctrine of the Church, and it was on that day that the Pope instituted the liturgical feast of May 1st, in honor of Saint Joseph the Worker. 6. It is the International Labor Day - celebrating labor and workers throughout many countries of the world with a day of rest. This means that many more people (not just those observing Sunday) will be home with their families on this specific Sunday! 7. It is "Loyalty Day" named thus by the US Veterans of Foreign Wars. It is a day set aside for the reaffirmation of loyalty to the United States and for the recognition of the heritage of American freedom. 8. As for Mr. Conte, I still check his forum and read the posts now and then, and I watched again, as Good Friday came and went...again. I respect his attempts to solve the puzzle, but he is too rigid, he ignores "other" clues that do not fit his definitions of what "must be". Last year I communicated with him with some alternative ideas, but was quickly put in my place with the reply, "It cannot happen like that. Eschatology just doesn't work that way". Put simply, in my opinion he uses the words "must" and "cannot" too much in connection with what God would/would not do. It is his lack of flexibility that is his own undoing, I'm afraid. He is too certain of his own methods, which is why I am becoming certain he will be wrong on many counts. Well, enough said about that... I am curious what all the "gifted" forum members are feeling about Divine Mercy Sunday this year...God only gives me outward, physical "signs", which I think I miss most of the time, until he hits me over the head with them. Last week, at the "out of the blue" request by our priest, I had to go to the Poor Clare Nuns Monistary and ask for pamphlets. I've never done anything like that before. They had them for me. I had to find info on the internet and make 100 other pamphlets myself for my Church. I even got my husband to fold some of the pamphlets I made! My Mom, for the first time in her 79 years, is praying the Divine Mercy Novena. I am way more nervous now than I was before Good Friday. Anyone else?

It is now 2011, and May 12 (Ascension Thursday) is 11 days after her birthday, May 1. Good observation, Aviso.

I surely didn't mean to put a shadow on anyone's Easter! I love Easter and am looking forward to Mass tomorrow and the day with my parents! No worries...and next Sunday will be glorious as well! Whatever happens, it will be a day of great events...the beatification is a glorious thing in itself! May Easter and the week following be yet another preparation for us and for His Mercy to be upon us.
Divine Mercy Sunday is certainly a possibile day for the Warning as the ocean of mercy is opened for poor sinners on that day. And Sunday is the Lord's day when we are meant to be worshipping God in spirit and in truth. This is one of the commandments most abused by people today including us Christians and what a correction the warning would bring if it occurred on a Sunday. It is Providential that Pope John Paul II is being beatified on DIvine Mercy Sunday because he through the grace of God set in place this beautiful feast in the Liturgical calendar. It commemorates the Mercy of God and mercy always precedes Justice. And the Warning is a great act of Divine Mercy!! I remain cautious though for there are a few signs that we could be some years from the Warning - like the fact that 3 of the Medjugorje seers have not yet received their 10 secrets and there is a book about our Lady's life yet to be published. Our Lady instructed Vicka to keep a careful record of special dictations, given from January 7, 1982 to April 10, 1985. She is not allowed to show anyone the notebooks that contain Our Lady’s life story until she receives from Our Lady the date upon which they can be released. So Vicka awaits instruction for this manuscript to be published - also in this book will be published the new prayers taught by our Lady on the 2nd of each month for unbelievers - special prayers, a new devotion for conversion of poor sinners. Perhaps, there might be some special announcement about this on Divine Mercy Sunday? It is 16 years since our Lady finished dictating her life story! Can't wait to read it!
It is Ivanka who has the biography of Mary's life. Also, I thought it would not be released until after the secrets began to be revealed. At least I have never considered this a reason to think the secrets or the warning would not occur yet. In fact, I would think if it were revealed prior to the secrets beginning, that it would be met with way too much doubt and skepticism. Why would people believe it if the apparitions are still not approved by the Church? My thought anyway. The last three visionaries have received 9 secrets. The tenth secret could be revealed to them today, or tomorrow, or any given day, or on Divine Mercy Sunday! Also, I still am not convinced that the Garabandal Warning is the same as the first Secret of Medjugorje, so this may not matter anyway. I think the garabandal warning could very likely occur first. When you ask the visionaries about the Garabandal Warning, they say they know nothing of it, nor if it is connected to their secrets in any way. So Mary has not revealed this connection to anyone. Again, it is just us speciulating that they must be the same. There's that "must" word again. Ivanka: "From 1981 until 1985 I received the apparitions on a daily basis. Hmmm, there is so much discrepency out there...sometimes lines get crossed. I heard Ivanka actually say she had the biography three times last year, once at the Medjugorje conference at Notre Dame and also each time I went to Medjugorje. Ivanka didn't speak publically a lot until recent years. I have never heard Vicka speak myself, but she may also have journals to share. It doesn't matter really who has the biography, I am just so eager to read it!!! I do still think, though that it will not be brought forth until the secrets have begun and the apparitions have been approved in some way, by the secrets coming to fruition...most likely.
Well, I finally published a video of our trips to Medjugorje on YouTube, and I wanted to share it with the forum, as it is the first time I have created something like this. ...and the write-up I made for it on YouTube... "Our Two Trips to Medugorje - March & June 2010 I was blessed to be able to make two trips to Medjugorje in 2010, the first in March with my husband Dave, and the second in May/June with my mother Marian. My mother and I were asked to do some presentations about our trip to local church groups, so I created a PowerPoint presentation. Others then asked to see it, so I decided to turn the PowerPoint into a self-standing video that could be shown without narration. Here it is, I hope you enjoy it, as it chronicles a very special time in our lives. I had to edit it, however, as it was almost 2 minutes too long for YouTube. I am sorry if you hear a glitch or two in the audio where I trimmed out a slide, or if you have too little time to read one or two of the pages where I removed a few seconds of time. But I suppose I am the only one who will miss them, since no one else out here in internet-land has seen it with them included. :wink: I've felt the call to make this public for some time, so I feel relieved to have finally accomplished it.
I can't find where I posted it before, but somewhere I posted that ABC Primetime Nightline was going to air a special on Mary and on Medjugorje...also on other apparitions - called The Miracle Mysteries. Well, the date has changed. It was originally scheduled for this Wednesday but has been moved to next Wednesday, July 6, at 9 pm Central time.
