Denis Nolan, from Mary TV, was gracious enough to send this to me after I had received a hoax email with false statements of Ivan and a Middle East War. We were talking about the evil one and how he too was using the internet to scare us. (Denis)We'll, the enemy is active (and that can be a good sign…it means your doing something right)…. I think he' s terrified of Our Lady sailing on the digital sea… She's going to blow him out of the water! Take a look at this article: http://www.medjugorjemiracles.com/2012/01/mary-of-medjugorje-comes-to-save-young-man-through-apparition-on-the-internet/
Lee, I saw this the other day and meant to post it. How precious is the grace of God, so available to those in need! It is a wonderful testimony. I do not doubt that its spark was ignited by the prayers of Adam's mother. Safe in the Flames of the Sacred Heart!
May God grant me the grace of conversion too. But like St Augustine I am tempted to say, 'But not yet a while oh Lord. Not yet...' Not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual excess and lust, not in quarreling and jealousy. Rather, put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the desires of the flesh. --Romans 13: 13-14 (Look at the way the lights 'accidentally' play in this film fragment...a miracle in itself..) ]
I heard of a conversion story today which involves Melissa, the older daughter of our friends, Mark and Sue Sierson. A few years back they were very much involved in promoting the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart in many of the homes of our parish. Of course, they also had a home Mass in which they consecrated their family to the Two Hearts and enthroned a picture of the Sacred Heart above their fireplace mantle. Well, at the beginning of this past Advent, tragedy struck as a gas leak occurred in their basement ending in a horrific explosion that quickly engulfed their home in flames. Mark was in the basement at the time of the explosion. Sue and their two daughters were upstairs. Melissa was recently married and was visiting from Albany, NY. She was standing in the kitchen when the fireball came rushing up the basement stairs towards her. It split moving around each side of her. One branch blew out the dining room window. The other blew out a rear exit at the back of the home. Miraculously, Melissa only suffered a slight singeing of her hair. The three ladies were able to quickly escape. Meanwhile, Mark had been downstairs at his workbench that was separated from the blast by an interior wall. The explosion had caused an immediate warping of the basement exit door so he was unable to escape there. He turned and realized he would have to run through the flames and ascend the stairs which were already engulfed. So he held his breath and began his run. Unfortunately, the superheated gases had partially melted the carpeted stairs and he slipped several times. Praise God, he made it out with only suffering burns on his hands which he had used to grab and pull himself up the stairs. No permanent scarring occurred and no extraordinary measures were needed at the hospital. He has normal use of his hands now. When they were allowed to go back to the remains of their house (which has since been demolished) a couple of facts stood out. The only interior wall on the ground floor that was not seriously damaged was the wall on which hung the picture of the Sacred Heart! It still there intact. The only part of the master bedroom floor that had not collapsed into the basement was the part on which stood a dresser. Mark had prayed that he would be able to retrieve his wedding ring which he had taken off to go downstairs to the workbench area. It was on that dresser that he had left his wedding ring. None of this was lost on Melissa who had grown somewhat slack in the practice of her faith after leaving home. So the Lord blest this family not only with physical protection but with a special grace of conversion for Melissa. She now knows in her heart that God lives and is faithful to His own! Blessed be the name of the Lord! Proverbs 3:33 The Lord's curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the abode of the righteous. Safe in the flames of the Sacred Heart!
'Safe in the flames of the Sacred Heart'  Isaiah 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
