Yesterday was the Feast of Our Lady of Walsingham. I though at once when I discovered this of one of our members Julia who used to make the pilgrimage to Walsingham every years and pray for us all here on the forum there.

No word from dear Julia in such a long time. Please pray fro her , wherever she may be as she so oftne prayed for her.

Ah Julia! I miss her so.

I was praying to the lord last night for someone who is dying and I noticed he had the most beautiful robe on. It had light blue stripes which I think were the colour of King David, but not the blue of the Israeli flag but a gentle faded blue. The robe itself was light wool and had a fringe as though the weave ended suddenly.

I was touched when I saw it as I suspect Our Lady must have woven it for Him. What love they must have for each other when He borught it with Him to heaven!:):)

Some people see Our Lord as sad but I very often find him happy and even jokey. When I started into why the poor dying man should be spared He smiled and asked me if I did not know all the long list of people who were prayng for him and who had put up the same arguments that I had; that he had a young family, that he had been such a good Catholic, that he derserved a miracle and so on.

I must have stared at him liek a beached whale for He laughed and asked me if I did not think He had His own good reasons for taking him home?

I was again flummoxred but said I would get His Mother to intercede for me. He laughed and held His hands up as though in alram and to say, 'Oh no not that!'

    I smiled too.

Later on in the night I returned to the subject but He explained to me that He is like a farmed who knows when to pick the fruit in due season, the exact right day, the exact right second.

I am getting more and more useless at prayers of petition. When the Lord tells me it is His Will I don;t know what to answer. Who am I to contradict the Good Lord?

I would love to know how Mary argues her case. I feel so useless.

Indeed. We all do, in the face of the will of God. Thanks for sharing the two above enlightening posts.

I just sent her an email there now to check. Hopefully at least a relative will pick up on it. I will check the internet under her real name.

Thank you Shae; to be quite honest I find it very difficult writing about such things and would much prefer to keep them private. But Our Lady let me know that this is what she wanted when aksing me to st up the forum, so that is what I do. I am glad that it does some good.

There really is a Spiritual War going on , Whether we see it or not, it still goes on.

Padraig, I shared your story today with the ladies in my Rosary prayer group. They really enjoyed it, especially the part when Jesus said,'Oh no not that!' haha

A lady from California told me a few years back that she was visiting a Grade School there and the priest was telling the kids the sotry of Our Lady visiting me in prison and of my conversion and how much good it did them.:)

I ahve heard Our Lord talking qute directly to me since I was an infant. It was not until I was quite a lot older that I realsied everyone had the same thing. Why one eprson has this and others not, i have no idea, but there you are.

I am a little surprised that people who do have these things do not experience the huge joy, the Lightness, th sense of humour of Mother and Son. So much so I suspect Jesus must be Irish on His Mother's side.;):)

In recent years I ahve started hearing the demons chatter too, mostly at mass. They have a great awareness of the spiritual situation of people they look at. They very particulary detest priests. I heard them say in outrage about one priest who was climbing to the altar, 'Do you see the harm that one is doing to the Kingdom!!'

People are very much mistaken if they think that hell and the demons do not exist. They do and are at constant war with us. They chatter away like little monkeys.

"One of the characteristics of the new members, said Fr James Mary, was a strong devotion to Mary and to the Blessed Eucharist.

“Because we love Our Lady so much it is natural for us to work at a Marian shrine,” said Fr James Mary."

Beautiful! I needed to read this today, thank you!

Imagine Our Lady's pure joy in receiving Christ in the Eucharist! It was the closest Jesus was to her on earth after she carried Him in her womb.

You know I woke up last night and was thinking about the Annunciation.

The Arcangel Gabriel said to Mary,

    'Do not be afraid....'

The obvious thing to think is that he meant , do not be afraid because an angle has appeared to you.

But no, Mary was quite used to angels.

What he meant was, do not be afraid of the huge deal that is being proposed to you, to be the Mother of the Incarnate Word.

I find this Fear of God which Mary displayed so helpful in my own Spiritual Life. God is no pussy cat. He can be quite the Lion. Quite a cause for Fear. Though as St John says, perfect love casts out fear.

But there is another kind of fear....a Numinous Fear, which only grows with time.
God is not to be messed about with. He both deserves and demands Respect. People have forgotten this. Hence the Fear of Hell is all but gone.

The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom and Mary was the Wisest of the Wise. The Seat of Wisdom.

This reminds me of a talk given by Fr. Groeschel about the Venerable Solanus Casey. Many people went to the Venerable for prayers for healing and Fr. G said that Solanus would sometimes promise prayers for healing (and a healing would happen) and sometimes he would just say 'We all have to die sometime' and promise prayers for the deceased. Fr. G said that his different reactions were a mystery to those around him. Presumably, the Lord sometimes just said, when a prayer request was received, 'In this case, Solanus, don't bother asking'.

I think most of the world are in for a shock when they are confronted with God. Without even saying anything, his holiness will expose all our sin and bring it to our awareness. That alone will be frightening. I think when we come close to God and just being close to his presence every little thing, things we would not even consider, will be brought to our awareness because of his perfect purity. I think we will even realize how the things we watch on tv affected us and even how witnessing other peoples sins may have affected our purity of heart.

As you say people have forgotten it. Even many Catholics have forgotten it and I forget it often too and have to keep reminding myself that there is no guarantee of how things will go.
