you just hit on the big picture. Now the Church can't be trusted. Sad Sad Sad You have a point...but we still must follow the magisterium. This nonsense is going to cause such confusion... the Holy Father needs to start thinking of the big picture. If he continues to be silent and hide the truth...the church is in big trouble.
I think it'll be up to each cardinal, bishop, religious, priest, and laity member to follow Christ in their own capacity, no matter what comes out of Rome. I don't know if this is stupid or wise, but I don't keep up on the news from Rome *much*. I just know that the Reformation was a mess, and that while ancient and beautiful, Orthodoxy is not the Church founded by Christ, either. Squabbles over autocephalacy and dominion show that these are national, ethnic churches, loosely associated but not truly united. That leaves only the Catholic Church. Which everyone seems love rejecting, mocking, leaving, criticizing, and objecting to. It's weird and surreal, but the errors of Protestantism are being aired in bulletins and by the Pope. They know the Truth, they just reject it and call it "rigid". I guess, just keep going. Rome will get worse and worse. But it won't last forever.

Yes. Things are definitely heating up. Even Protestant Bibles are oozing oil. Really, really interesting. I think this is a wake up call for all sincere, detached followers of Christ that something difficult is around the bend. Keep awake, focus on Christ, not this world, get your priorities sorted out, repent, and have your lamps burning.
