Welcome Claudia, our first member I believe from the great state of Alabama. I was watching the first half of the new movie , 'Lincoln ', starring Daniel Day Lewis just before I cam on the site tonight. I am not an American so there was much to surprise and enlighten me in wwatching the rendering of those darksome far off days. I suspect indeed there is much to educate and enlighten present day Americans too. Mr Liinclon was a brilliant man and superb politician and leader. Yet even so it appears as all men , even leaders and even great leaders he was swept along , often helpless in torrent tides of history; most of it not all of his making. Yet through it all I sesned God wirting straight thorugh the crooked lines of war. Yet saving us, though we damn ourselves. I found hope in this story, for I believe that whilst Mr Linclon struggled to find God in the most horrendous circumstance God struggled even more strongly to find him and did so with the 13th Ammendment. May the good God continue in his struggles to find us in these latter days, as we struggle to find him.
