Even so. Which makes me think ; is there a difference in tone and type between authentic messages coming from Jesus and Mary? If I had to hazard a guess I would say they are like two dances. The dance of Jesus is kind of slower, statelier and more majestic, a grand waltz. Our Lady perhaps a little more down homey, a country barn dance.? I suppose it might be the difference between talking to the Pope and your Parish Priest. Our Lady's messages have a certain grandeur too. A Queen but more kinda accessible. Its hard to put into words.
I would try not to take a blanket stance either way on this. Having read literally hundreds of pages of these alleged locutions in the original Spanish and looked as carefully as possible at all the background material on the website, I have to say that I take them more seriously than most. Although the tone is certainly severe at times, it is no more severe than that employed in Garabandal, Akita or El Escorial (or at times in Fr Gobbi's 'Blue Book'), and there is basically nothing here in terms of themes that cannot be found in other credible sources. This does not however mean that Luz de Maria's messages are necessarily error-free or devoid of the workings of human subjectivity. There can be NO guarantees of that with private revelation. As some fundamentalist Eastern Orthodox sites like to remind us, even St Catherine of Siena once claimed to have received a locution denying the Immaculate Conception(!!) Reading on a case by case basis without negative or positive a prioris seems the most prudent strategy to me... What is certain is that there are very specific and grave predictions being made regarding imminent events in these and many other 'messages' received by alleged visionaries. A coherent picture emerges with remarkably little variation across the board internationally over recent decades. If none of these predicted events materialize, then either the messages were wrong or repentance will have changed things (which would be wonderful but unfortunately looks unlikely). If they do materialize, however, the situation in the world will be such that the question of whether individual visionaries were authentically inspired or simply repeating others who were will pale into insignificance.
David, I actually take the Pope' s remarks to directed to the faithful who receive messages like going to the postbox, as opposed to how Our Lady delivers them. There are many mystics, saints and visionaries of this world, like the visionaries in Medjugorje, who get daily messages, but I don't think the pope's message is for them! I find it interesting that there is a sense among we people of faith towards the supernatural, that a little bit is ok, but too much (too many words, too many prophecies, too much supernatural events) can't be from God. It reminds me of some comments made about Maryvonne Aimé de Malestroit, whose life had so many supernatural occurrences, they were written off because of ' too much supernatural' so cannot be from God. Father Laurentin wrote several books about her and helped rehabilitate her in the eyes of the Church and faithful. Marie-Julie Jahenny is another one who received hours of daily locutions for years, too much text to know it all, and many messages about the Sacred Heart, but that' s not what people retain about her, they retain all the prophecies and others with information about the tribulations, chastisements, monarch, etc. I have always wondered if she also has been a victim of too much supernatural... (Peter?). Sulema also has messages that are prophetic that names countries or gives other specifics. In fact, I was re-reading one of them last night, which I didn't translate, about a shift in an 'indian plate' that would cause very big waves in the ocean and a deadly earthquake (a reference perhaps to the recent quake in Nepal with huge waves that followed for a few days in Chili/Peru and west coast of US/Mexico?). She has also shared in an interview that she gets visions of catastrophe before they happen for the sole reason of praying for those about to die or be gravely touched. So I suspect that once you have a visionary whose messages appear, on the surface, to be nice & tidy for us, there is often a lot more going on underneath that is not made public, which may be a grace God gives to some visionaries to shield them from attacks.
As I read these messages, I find them 'alarming' in that the time clock has run out, no longer the last years, but the last moments in reference to the world we once knew. The world we know is one of comfort, pleasure and entertainment. This is the world that our Lord and our Lady are telling us, very boldly, is in its last moments. These messages remind me of how I may speak to my children when I want to get something across to them. At first you try the diplomatic method with a casual tone. The second time I am a little louder. If what I am asking is being ignored, I have been known to yell it out. That is what our Lord and his Mother are doing in these messages. The time is very short now and there is no time left for pandering words. Every thing that heaven is telling us is to wake us fully up at this moment and get with heaven's plan, cause its big stick (a spanking) is coming to this sinful world. Then when the sting is over we will become obedient and loving to the first and greatest commandment to love your Lord God with all your heart, soul and strength and put no gods before Him.

I think I need to clarify what I meant in my original comments. They were directed at messages intended to be spread to others on an almost daily basis. I was not intending to show negativity to the lengthy dictations from the Lord given in our times with the aim of teaching us to come to know and love God. Two of these, the 'Poem of the Man God' and 'True Life in God' are I believe two of the greatest treasures mankind has ever been given by the Holy Spirit. No, my problem is with those almost daily messages, many coming from South America, which might tell us things which we believe to be true, but this doesn't make them authentic. Andree, you mention the Medjugorje visionaries getting daily messages. Yes, Our Lady does speak daily to them but they are private conversations with them, not messages to be sent to others. Also, the few messages they receive that are to be published are of a very different nature to these ones that I am doubtful about. The Medjugorje messages almost exclusively are short comments that encourage us to come closer to Jesus and to love Him. I think they serve just a s a reminder that Our Lady remains present in a special way in Medjugorje and as an encouragement to change our ways and to come close to Jesus. The bottom line is always conversion. Authentic messages will always produce good and significant fruit.

This analysis is really good. It helps to explain I suppose why I sense these are genuine, and at the same time a healthy approach to them.
I never like to close the door on phenomena such as this by saying they are not true. As Rabbi Gamaliel warns it would be too easy to find yourself , 'Striving against God'. The most I would say unless I were really sure something was false is to say that they make me uneasy , as these do. Why? Well it is true I think a picture is emerging from a range of private revelations many of them already Church approved) as to what the future may hold for us. Most of us on the forum and for many , many people who take an interest in such things right across the Catholic world have a strong sense a schemata of events to come. This schemata is shown not only in true but in certainly false private revelation such as , say , 'Maria Divine Mercy'. In other words some of the events this false prophecy predicted will indeed come true for they are widely indicated in Catholic Prophecy. But not only is there this schemata but I believe the accent and tone of heaven has also been replicated in quite a few current Catholic false current prophecy. So given this one is left in something of a dilemma when encountering messages like these. My first instinct would be to go to the life of the messenger to check if she bears good fruit in her own personal life. But I am blind sided in this in that I know nothing nothing at all about her whatsoever. So all I and most other people are left with are basically black letters skipping across a white screen. Given as I say that both the schemata or prophetic frame of the messages and the tone and accent of the messages can be (and in other cases have been ) easily counterfeited , what have we left to go on? Well I can only say for myself that there are means to regard this phenomena with the eyes of the mind and with the eyes of the heart. Of course of these two the most important is the eyes of the mind. This is the way the Church herself discerns such things. But for myself I do not in these messages find enough material to make such a discernment. So I fall back on my heart. In this matter I am reminded of my very old 13 years old car. It glides like a dream. This is because for most of its life it was locked up in a police garage not used nor our in the rain. So the springs on the car are as good and fresh and new. It does not bump and grind like and old car should. Now when I turn to these messages I find for me that unlike my old car they do not glide along as a new car should. Whilst on the one hand I accept that Mary has had many urgent things to say, she has said it in a certain way. A mother who points out to her children where they have gone wrong and the consequences is a wise loving woman. A woman who again and again and again points out severe consequences is no longer wise but becomes it seems to me , more like a scold. So this is what makes me uneasy. The voice I hear hear seems so disimiliar to the voice I hear in my own prayer life. The car I hear here driving bumps and grinds. It is not much to go on , I grant you, but it is all I have. It is simply not the voice of the one I know and love. Or of it is, she talks in accents I am unfamiliar with. I do not say these are false, I say simply they make me uneasy and if I am wrong may God forgive me for it. As for yourselves make up your own minds.
