Well, I'll trust you're in the third option since you were humble enough to think about it in post 119!:ROFLMAO:

Sounds yummy to me AN. My wife and I just this week harvested the rhubarb patch; she'll make delicious filling for pies.:p The patch is self-sustaining. It is at least 50 years old!

Surrendering our will to God is Traditional Catholicism. Doing everything in union with God is a traditional Catholic concept. This Luisa movement is not. It’s something completely different. And I am really not sure that all of this acceptance of it by the Church is a done deal. And it may never be a done deal. Our Lord warned us that false Christs will come. There is great diabolical disorientation now. We just have to wait.
One thing I read about Luisa is that she would throw up her food, at least at first. She claimed to live on the Eucharist alone. I am glad that there will be an investigation.

Something is coming that will make the true sacrifice very hard to find. The protestantization of the mass is coming and I don't mean in a soft way as in the past. We are truly seeing the first fruits of what our lady of Garabandal said "when communism returns". Mandatory mask wearing is only a very small shout-out to what is forthcoming.

Here is a link to Frances Hogan and the Divine Will writings and spirituality, in case anyone would like to explore. I was looking for more videos of Greg Dunne, but could not find anything on Frances site. There is a video earlier on this Forum with Francis Hogan and Greg Dunne. Maybe someone else will have more luck.

God is always full of surprises.:):) One of the reasons I love Him so much.

Divine Will is one of the Biggest Jack in the Boxes of all times. I for one never saw it coming . Such a delight. A surprise Spiritual Party.:)

Apparently this guy is an expert?

I really must try and get on one of his retreats.

I hate retreats but I will make the effort.

Tony Hickey is very knowledgeable about living in the Divine Will. At my first Divine Will Conference, over 25 years ago, I obtained a small little booklet that he wrote as an introduction to Luisa’s writings. It was very simply written yet full of knowledge. I believe have a PDF of the booklet if anyone would like it. I’m not very tech oriented, but I can try to post it.

The above by Thomas Hickey is what I call in depth. He analyzes the variations of Greek verbs to bring one to the point of acknowledging consecration to Mary is the desire of Jesus for everyone of us. Is there any desire of Jesus I should refuse? And of course, Mr. Hickey made me realize how too often, I shortchange my consecration to Our Lady, by surrendering things to her on my terms, as I would wish things to be.

I'm glad she is such a forgiving, understanding Mom! And I'm glad Mr. Hickey can summarize these Biblical truths so clearly and simply. A excellent teacher. God bless him. I enjoyed his brief but insightful explanation of the following verse:

1 Peter 5:6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, 7 casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.

    Pádraig,
I got this book yesterday and am at chapter 8. I find it to be a very good guide on the Divine Will. It simplifies the complex ideas and is very readable. Thanks for the recommendation.

Well Mary you are far more knowledgeable about this than me, so I will take your word for it.

I think it is very much more difficult to write simply and directly about something , in a way that is a good teacher than to meander for 100's of pages and be an 'Expert'.:)

I am a total novice in all this, but I don't mind this in the least. I am young enough at heart to try something totally new and enjoy it.:):)

I saw a lovely thing Luisa was told by Jesus.

Jesus said He was always the same with people. Sweet, gentle and patient, even when they were torturing Him to death.

I found this is so true on the internet , being as kind, as gentle , as patient as you can with people is totally the best way forward. Not because you are pretending to be something you are not but because that is the way you are in following Christ.

For instance if someone is loud and agsressive and bullying, simply to walk away.

It's besides the point but I came across a truly lovely quote from an Orthodox saint,

'Silence is the language of God'.

    So true.

I'm definitely not knowledgeable about DW. I have skirted around the edges for many years. It's always there in the background and I pray for the gift every day. I kind of forget about it and then something comes along, like this book, and gets me going again.

A treasure of knowledge from Our Lord on this Holy Feast Day of Our Lady of Sorrows:

Book of Heaven, Vol. 15, March 23, 1923 The sorrows of the Celestial Mama, and how the Divine Fiat acted in them.

I was thinking of the sorrows of my Celestial Mama, and my lovable Jesus, moving in my interior, told me: “My daughter, I was the first King of sorrows, and being Man and God, I had to centralize everything within Me in order to have primacy over everything, even over sorrows. Those of my Mama were nothing other than the reverberations of mine which, being reflected in Her, made Her share in all my sorrows which, piercing Her, filled Her with such bitterness and pain that She felt Herself dying at each reverberation of my sorrows. But love sustained Her and gave Her life again. Therefore, not only for honor, but also by right of justice, She was the first Queen of the immense sea of Her sorrows.” While He was saying this, I seemed to see my Mama in front of Jesus, and everything that Jesus contained, the sorrows and the piercings of that Most Holy Heart, were reflected in the Heart of the sorrowful Queen. At those reflections, many swords formed in the Heart of the pierced Mama; and these swords were marked by a Fiat of light, in which She remained circumfused, in the midst of so many Fiats of most refulgent light which gave Her so much glory that there are no words to narrate it.

Then, Jesus continued, saying: “It was not the sorrows that constituted my Mama as Queen and made Her shine with so much glory, but it was my omnipotent Fiat, which was braided to Her every act and sorrow, and constituted Itself life of each of Her sorrows. So, my Fiat was the first act that formed the sword, giving Her the intensity of pain that It wanted. My Fiat could place all the sorrows It wanted in that pierced Heart, adding piercings upon piercings, pains upon pains, without a shadow of the slightest resistance. On the contrary, She felt honored that my Fiat would constitute Itself life of even a heartbeat of Hers; and my Fiat gave Her complete glory and constituted Her true and legitimate Queen.”

I recently received The Sun of my Will published by the Vatican and am in the midst of reading it. I also purchased The hours of the Passion and am reading the Hours as a means to save souls.

I just want to point out that Luisa was a simple and virtually uneducated young girl from a small town. She hardly knew how to write and wrote in dialect. The dialects in Italy could be so different within 10 km of each town. I'm Italian and I was born there and knew only dialect for the 1st 13 years of my life. She did nit want to write, she certainly didn't want anything published and was extremely concerned about what people would think of her- which in Italy even until recently was extremely important.

My point being, her writing was in dialect and needed to be reviewed and written in proper Italian by someone who hopefully understood the dialect. St. Annibale was Sicilian- like worlds apart!
So it is understandable that there may be problems in the translation.

One other point is that given her limited education, so much of what she wrote (as instructed by Jesus to do so) seems highly unlikely that a person with grade 1 education could have conceived it.

About San Padre Pio, I doubt very much that he didn't know about her, given the close proximity. I would trust that the Vatican is doing its homework.

And then, in reading this book thus far, I realize how duffierently God sees us than we see ourselves. How little we understand. Such as God's Creation is responding to end times, the planet is sick, plants are dying, my fruit trees all died this year, nothing grew properly in my garden and I'm not alone. The planet, the air, the oceans, the universe is all responding- creation itself is suffering. I never really thought about it in this way until I started listening to Luisa's writings.

But living in the Divine Will may not be for everyone. The way I understand it, you give up your own free will and live in His only and He speaks to you internally - you know His will. Its not just an acceptance of His will, which is different. Not sure I'm ready for that.. will have to read and meditate a whole lot more.

However by reading the Hours of the Passion we can save cities - so many souls. I would encourage others to try it.

Thank you Fede for your insights. I pray the hours of the passion every Lent. I will start it again for October. Yes it's important to do it now for our communities and country's.
