Jayne, you are a brave woman. I just watched a clip on Fr. Barron's Catholicism on Lough Derg, but didn't realize that day trips were available. I'll send my request to you in a Conversation and thank you for offering to carry our prayers with you. God Bless you.
hi lee thanks for your reply i dont have to fast or does anybody in the group tou do the procession and go confession if you choose. then go to Mass i would need to go to confession ialways chicken out so i have to make a big effort to go i dont feel brave .
I only ever did one trip to Lough Derg and that was with my Parish on a Day Trip. To be honest I didn't expect too much from it and just thought it would be a nice spiritual day out. I was really AMAZED by the graces I received there, especially at confession. I was surprised and pleased that two of our local bishops met us there to say mass. Lough Derg was one of the very top pilgrimage spots during the Middle Ages and is mentioned by chroniclers right across Europe: please pray for this forum there:
I did the 3 day retreat fasting on bread in the evening and water. Of course the biggest penance was no sleep for 36 hours approx. I felt great when it was over and promised to return but havent done so since. Im a bit soft I think. Mary
