Yes, the big buzz for last year and this year is good Friday for the warning. The miracle has a lot of speculation, some say it will be on a day that has something to do with the letter A (or that the miracle itself will be something with the letter A)...and on a thursday. For me, this points to possibly Ascension Thursday (as was speculated last year), which happens to fall on June 2 this year- the beginning of the 30th anneversary month of the Medjugorje apparitions, and an apparition day for Mirjana for the unbelievers. That would be a really great day for the miracle, no? ALSO, this June 2 is a feast day for the APOSTLE Peter (another A? and certainly a eucharistic martyr, though we don't think of him as that, he is perhaps the most important one if you think about it!) But also it could be May 12, or any other thursday within a year of the warning. Oh, and just for kicks...on the Jewish calendar a day is sunset to sunset, not midnight to midnight, so possibly this could mean that a wednesday evening event could also occur and still be fitting with the Thursday prediction. I tried to prepare last Lent, and will do so again this Lent...Fasting diligently, praying the rosary more, and going to confession. Like Padraig said, if it does not happen, then I will have had a very good Lent preparation again this year. I wholeheartedly believe that two of the first three secrets from Mirjana will be the Warning and the Miracle, so I believe we will have three days to prepare for each one. Since we went through all this last year too, I still have prepared an email tree if we are given a message from Fr. Petar, to notify all my friends and family who are skeptical but will consider what I tell them. I know we cannot reach everybody, but I can try to at least prepare a few souls for what is coming in three days. Then I hope they will be able to compose themselves enough afterward to help those around them who will be completely blindsided.
I would imagine it will be in the main media if the secrets are revealed. I would be very,very unhappy about going into this without getting a good honest confession in as close to the event as possible. I also try to get to Divine Mercy Sunday everyu year, the promises connected to this are quite staggering. I honsetly feel a real sincere sympathy for anyone entering this unprepared. I feel particularly for atheists and agnostics, the shock will be terrible.

I'm also concerned for those who break God's commandments and think they're living a good life, especially for certain family members who fall into this.category. Ok, back to the other topic of the Warning perhaps coming soon. As Ron C. and others have said, we can't tell everybody, so we should just try to prepare ourselves, and then after the warning, we can help others who are completely in dispair. We too, will be in dispair, but if we prepare, then we will be less distraught and also because we understand a little more what happened and why, we will be better prepared to begin helping others. I think that by at least telling our loved ones about it and that we are concerned that it may happen this April, even if they shrug us off or think we are nuts, at least they have heard. Then if it does happen, they will go, "Oh!" and will understand and I hope it will help them to recover and start doing the right things and spreading the message also. Take my kids...they do not take all this seriously enough, but I still send them some of the monthly messages by email, and I still mention it to them when the opportunity presents itself. Even if we do not get a message from Fr. Petar, I will still at least mention to them when it gets close to Easter that this may happen,so they have it in their heads. I'll tell them (though they probably won't do it) to get to confession before Good Friday, as we all must, because if it does happen, the lines for confession will be unfathomable...many times over what we see in Medjugorje. There may be people of all faiths in line for a Catholic confession, I bet...if I were Protestant and were shown my soul, I think I would be making a beeline for a Catholic Church, because I don't think there will be too many pastors out there that will have answers for them. They will be reeling too. Maybe THEY will be in line also. Of course, so will some Priests be reeling, but hopefully most of them will recover themselves enough to be there for the people.
Do folks here think that the miracle predicted at Gabranel (spelling ?) and Medj are one in the same? I do, and the fact that Ascention Thursday is an "A" day and is in June I think further validates that the miracle will be the same. Ivan of Medj has stated that the miracle will be in June, although he did not state what year it would occur. I agree with MomsCalling that 2 of the 3 first Medj secrets will be the illumination and miracle. I think that the first secret will be some event that will really get everyone's attention and really, really make people think about the possibility of God existing. Not that the event itself will prove God exists, but the fact that whatever the event is will be predicted 3 days in advance is I think what will be compelling and make people say "whoa!!". Now people are awaken somewhat when the illumination will be announced and they will take the announcement very seriously, which I think will be the 2nd secret. That will be followed by the miracle in the 3rd secret. I feel that the first and second secrets will happen closely together (probably within a few weeks), and there will be a gap in time before the miracle so that people can start their conversions. I think the mass media will cover it all, even the first secret...not because they have good intentions, but because they will use it as an opportunity to poke fun at religious people...but they won't be laughing as the prediction comes true. I think there is a good chance the first 2 secrets will happen this lent, and then the miracle this June. Mirjana said that March 18th is a significant day, so that may be the day the first secret is announced. Those are my thoughts!! what do you all think? For these reasons, I as well want to make this lent my best sacrifice ever. And as always, take the steps necessary to gain the indulgences of Divine Mercy Sunday. If nothing happens...my soul still benefits! As for that horseman in the video...I think that image was put on the video via photoshop or some other tool. I am very sceptical of videos because they can be doctored up by those more technical than me. Plus there is no sound at that point in the newscast that shows the video. I think it's a hoax...but am willing to be proven wrong!!

We have discussed the possible date of the warning before and I believe it will not occur until after the Pope goes to Russia. Also Our Lady said that the predicted events at garabandal will not occur until Communism comes again. The girls in Garbandal said that at the time of the warning it would be difficult to get Mass and they believed some people in Garabandal would have died for their faith. I cant see any of these things happening in the next few months so I think its premature to expect the warning this lent. Mary

Everything you said is exactly what I think (and I think what several others here think)...except that I think the first warning will get almost no coverage...it will be a ticker at best on the bottom of a newscast. I don't even think EWTN will say much, if anything, about it, like they seldom mention Medjugorje these days. But I sure hope I am wrong about that. But the internet will be buzzing, and all of us who are signed up for messages from all the Medjugorje information sites will all get the email, and the news will spread quickly that way. Enough to get some attention. THEN when it comes true, the world will be riveted! Like you say, this will also open up the media to the next message, the warning for the 2nd secret, which I believe will be the Illumination. Mirjana has said that one of the first three secrets (does she say the first secret? I don't think so) is about a bad event that will affect the residents of Medjugorje. This could mean a natural disaster or warlike or terrorist event in Medjugorje itself, or a church-thing, or an uprising in Europe that effects everybody there greatly. If Fr. Petar announces something that pertains to that, then the world will sit up and take notice. I used to worry about Fr. Petar being silenced somehow, but I don't think that will happen, God will make sure his warnings get out. Of course many will say he did nothing extraordinary, but many, many faithful will know otherwise. So it was Ivan that said June...I was wondering who it was. Conchita said April, May, or June. Many think she later eliminated April and June, but that is speculative. I think someone also said that the first 2 secrets would happen close together, but I am not sure who. Then it was Conchita who said the Miracle, or permanent sign, will happen within the same year as the warning. Now some say that the Miracle day and the permanent sign may not happen on the same day, but I don't think that is right. So many people have tried to explain what the three secrets are, and have come up with things like thaat last statement. Ron thought that the 2nd secret would be a consolation day. I don't think so. I am sure that many will be consoled on Easter sunday if they attend Mass, but I do not think this will be an announced secret. It baffles some because in Garabandal, only two events are mentioned. That is why, it makes perfect sense that the other event would be one unique to Medjugorje, as Mirjana hinted to. It also makes sense that it would be the first thing announced, as a precurser to the main worldwide events. Remember there was a man in Medjugorje who had a vision of the valley being underwater? He said he saw boats tied to the base of Mt.Podburo. At the time it seemed impossible, as it is so very dry there. Well, last year they had days with water running down the streets like a river almost every week all the way through June, it rained more than they have ever seen. Another valley on the way to Medjugorje was underwater, it looked like a large lake, we saw it when we were there. The locals said they had never seen that valey underwater before. Could this year be the time for a major flood in Medjugorje? Could the man's vision come true? Could this be the first secret (or one of them) to be announced by Fr. Petar? Food for thought. Personally, I think this will be it...because of what I saw last year. But it could be so many other things too. Someone else also said they saw a vision of water running out of St. James Church...symbolism, or literal water? Guess we all will have to wait and see... I hope, and pray that Padraig and others are right, that the permanent sign and the miracles will happen all over the world, not only at Garabandal and Medjugorje and Fatima, but at all other Apparition sites or holy places of refuge, so that almost anyone could make a pilgrimage to one of these places if they wanted to. What a great way for God to verify all the places that our Blessed Mother has appeared! Then the Vatican could close all those books and committees and move on to more pressing issues, like what to do now with all this knowledge that we just received! If it does, then we really should wake up and take notice! As for the communism thing, yes, that one bugs me too, but some explain it away as communism of religion or of how widespread Athiesm is now, I just can't see actual communism returning as they knew it before in Europe in Fr. Petar's lifetime. I don't know, what do others think? As for the Mass, well, it is getting harder to get to Mass these days (especially in Europe), what with churches closing all over the world for lack of priests...and all the scandals turning people away. Maybe that's a stretch, I don't know. Tying some of the Garabandal and Medjugorje hints together sometimes does get difficult. Plus, prayer and fasting and good works change things...perhaps things have changed somewhat since the messages at garabandahl. Remember the 7th secret was lessoned...I don't know, just throwing that out there. Oh, and I agree about the video, but it is very cool anyway...and you just never know... :wink:

I hope they are sitting back and grinning at all our speculation, I hope it does not offend them that we, curious humans, do all this bantor. In getting excited about the possibilities, we are continuing to spread the message of conversion, and we are furthering our own conversion by preparing for what we think may happen soon, so I do hope that Mary is smiling at us and is not upset with us. Bacause we all know that whatever we try to figure out, they will throw us a curve ball. God has proven that he has a sense of humor and I also believe that he relishes in our inquisitiveness...after all he created us this way, so what we do should be according to his plan for us. But, I am pretty sure he will not let us have the upper hand with this one. No, we will all be surprised, i think (well, except for the visionaries anyway). But it is fun to try to guess...
Here is a good example of a non-event that is getting hype because the world is looking for something big to happen. We all know thzt Yellowstone is a volcano. We all know that it willerupt again one day. Many think it will be part of the tribulations here in the US. This story is very premature, because though it tells of the earth rising 10 inches, it is a common occurance there and over the past few years it has risen almost nothing...the larger rise was earlier in the decade. Anyway, interesting as it is, it is not an event happening now...yet the article makes it seem so...we do have to be careful to really read and not jump to a conclusion just from a headline: I do feel that something major is going to happen at Yellowstone, but it may be many many years yet. IT may be one of those things that prayer can affect. I have never been there, and would like to see it before it does go Kableuey! But I don't think it will happen for a long time yet. Thank goodness, we do now have some pretty good instrumentation to forwarn us of volcanic eruptions, and Yellowstone is being monitored to the hild. So unless a different natural disaster triggers an eruption (like a comet hitting the earth?) we will nost likely have a lot of advence notice to perpare for the eruption of Yellowstone. that's my feeling anyway. well Momscalling, I'm glad I am not alone in my thoughts for the first 3 secrets of Medj. In terms of the word getting out when the first secret is announced...I read an interview with Mirjana (of course I can't find it now), but someone asked her about emailing a list of friends when it is first announced, to make sure the word gets spread. Mirjana said something to the effect of not to worry about that, Our Lady will take care of that. We shouldn't worry about that...that's in our Lady's hands. Also Fr Petar mentioned in another interview that he planned to tell it to CNN, so I just believe that there will be full coverage of the first secret being announced, since I believe it's God's will people hear of it and know it. I'll continue to search for the interviews, but I definately remember reading them. I can't recall reading about a person in Medj seeing the region flooded, or Mirjana hinting the first secret will be about Medj. Can anyone recall where this is stated? Not saying it's not true, just wondering where it was heard. I personally believe it will be something like an earthquake, maybe in an area where there are no fault lines for earthquakes, or a tidal wave that has not been triggered by an earthquake...something along those lines. So that when something like that is predicted 3 days ahead of time, probably to the minute, it will really shake people and the media up, and they will take the 2nd secret (illumination) very seriously when it is announced 3 days in advance. These are just my thoughts, and they are not based on anything other than gut feeling. Of course God will throw me a curveball...like you said...He always does!! I think our lady understands when we speculate on these upcoming events...especially since the signs of the times are coming fast and furious. Of course, if we spend all day speculating...or speculating on the more ominous 4-10 secrets...I think she'd have a problem with that!!
The flood in Medj. - I have the story in a book on Medjugorje, but it is at my mom's house right now so I can't look it up. It was an older man who was one of the early witnesses, a parishiner, he talked about this vision or dream that he had, but nobody ever talks about him anymore. Perhaps he is dead now. The account of the vision has stuck with me, as he said he saw the steets with water in them and boats tied to the foot of the Hill. I don't remember exactly what was said, but the boats at Apparition Hill just sticks in my mind. Also, when we were in Medjugorje, we became friends with a local who has a coffee shop at the foot of the hill. With all the rain, we were talking about this and he knew all about the man and his prediciton. So we were conversing and speculating about it then too. I think the old man's name is in the book, when go to my moms I'll look it up. I tried to google it but didn't come up with anything. As for the other thing that Mirjana said, she actually said it to our group when we were talking in her home. I believe she said that the first secret involved an upheaval that would directly affect the people in Medjugorje, but also affect the world...something like that. I am going to go through our video of the talk and try to find it. If I can, I will try to post it. I hope I'm remembering it correctly. Really that doesn't sound like a flood, does it? Still, i think the flood thing will happen there. I don't know why, i just feel it will. After seeing the water run through the street from Apparition Hill myself one evening that it was raining hard, I just can't get it out of my head. I have some great shots of lightning from an evening thunderstorm that drenched us on a Saturday night. No, I am not that great a photographer, I stood in the open window for an entire hour snapping my camera, and just managed to capture a few good ones. Catching lightning is hard, but I feel so blessed to have these, you see lots of photos of Medjugorje, but not many of thunderstorms there! Potatosack, you have great faith in our media that they will report this, I guess I don't...not unless someone at CNN is a major believer and will truly make it so. That is entirely possible, and it is possible that Fr. Petar has already set this up. If so that is great!!! I figured it would go out from the Medjugorje Radio station and online and trickle into the news from there. But sometimes I forget that there are many believers, and some must be in important positions out there that can get the word out! Pray Pray Pray!
Momscalling I think you are referring to Sr Emmanuels book 'The Hidden Child of Medjugorje'. I cant find the book right now but I remember there was an old man who lived in the village and died the year before Our Lady came. He made many prophesies about the pilgrims coming and how Medjugorje would become such an important place. The only prophesy that remains to be fulfilled is that there would be a lake in Medjugorje and that the people living there would have boats on the lake. Medjugorje has a big problem with shortage of water and as far as I know the water has to be piped from a neighbouring village. Mary
Maryrose, That's not the book we have, but I think its at least a version of the same prophesy. Thanks, so I'm not imagining things! So he lived BEFORE, I thought he was there in the beginning. But I was just remembering something I had read about over a year ago. I will be going to my moms tomorrow. I want to find the name of the old man so I can try to find more info on him. With all the rain they got last year, maybe his prophesy is getting close. I know that our friend in Mej. was also thinking about that.

I haven't read the book mentioned, but will keep all of that in the back of my mind until the 1st secret is announced. I wouldn't call it great faith in the media...but I have great faith in Our Lady...and if she said don't worry about it...communication of the secrets is in her hands...then I believe it and not worry about it!! It's the same when I start to worry about unbelievers in my family...Mirjana said to pray for them and put them in Our Lady's hands...God will do the rest...we personally do not change hearts, but Jesus does at the right time. I take the same attitude with communication of the secrets and I don't think Our Lady would put the burdon of spreading the announcement on us...our first mission I believe (at least I think my mission is) to continue my conversion, pray for others, and try to be a good example. That's all I can really do, that's all I can control, so that's what I focus on. The rest I put in Our Lady's hands. It could very well be that the internet is so buzzing with the first announcement that the media picks up on it. Even CNN posts what utubes are going viral. So that may be it, and then CNN and others pick up on it as I do agree that the internet will be going crazy about this. But I do believe that the initial coverage of the major networks will be to mock/poke fun at those who believe the secret will happen as announced. They'll be waiting with great anticipation to see the secret not happen as announced so they can poke fun at us. That's the type of faith I have in the media :lol:
