Nicely put - this bit is ambiguous and needs clarifying:

"Only if the Magisterium receives a private revelation and officially acknowledges it as authentic does it become official in its character."

The Church of course canonises Saints not their prophecies.
The best she ever does is affirm their writings are not against the faith and are worthy and beneficial of reading.
It NEVER says such writings are "authentic" - i.e. true as Scripture is said to be true.

    Blue Horizon,

You pickings flower to give you mom story was sweet and bitter, I get it.

I told my younger sister about the LTTW warning of the Collapse to happen when the Pope was in the financial center of the world to help her prepare. She texted me last Saturday (26th) with three letters.

    REM

Hah, she was referring to a rock band and their famous lyrics.

The mix, there were a lot more words of love and protection than warning in Locutions.org by Mary who is the Woman clothed with the Sun. I fell for them.

I believe in Medjugorje because of the testimony of the miraculous healings there and I didn't always for the touristy and the promotion of it. Remember the great sign at Emmitsburg, Maryland prophesied? It never happened. But, there is witness to physical healings there too. ???

No more am I going to talk about prophecy with loved ones until after the Warning. I've been praying to God especially since last Friday, send down oh please, signs You are real and actual graces to disbelievers.

  9. IMPRIMATUR (Pronounced im-prim-AH-tur - Latin for "let it be printed.")

Imprimatur is an official approval from the hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church stating that a literary or similar work is totally free from error in all matters of faith and doctrine, and hence is acceptable reading for faithful Catholics. Approval is also sometimes indicated by the words Nihil Obstat which mean "nothing hinders": there is no obstacle to publication. An imprimatur is not given lightly; it follows a thorough review process. It is usually printed on a page at or near the beginning of the work. The name and title of the official church censor or other ecclesiastical authority, and the date that permission was granted, always accompany either declaration.

No less than three Cardinals who gave Imprimaturs. They are on their 18th Edition. I'd say that says enough. BUT....here is more: From Fr. Roux, former head of the MMP:

The Coming of Jesus and The Millennium
The subject matter in question being too complicated for me to venture into without the expertise of the masters in this field of theology, I have availed myself of the excellent research done by Fr. Joseph Iannuzzi, O.S.J., S.T.D. In his book, "The Triumph of God's Kingdom in the Millennium and End Times", which we have found to be the foremost authoritative work on the study of the Millennium, Fr. Iannuzzi gives a comprehensive treatise on this subject as contained in the public revelation of the Church: Sacred Scripture and Tradition (the Fathers and Doctors of the Church); and the Magisterium. It is important to note that he does not make reference in any way to private revelation to support his claims.

A few things I would like to emphasize:

    1.

Fr. Iannuzzi's work is so extensive and thorough, that I could not possibly treat all of the subject matter. For those who wish to further their study of these topics, the information needed to obtain his books is provided in the footnotes.

    2.

Although he makes no reference to private revelation, in an email to M.T.M., a copy of which Fr. Iannuzzi sent to me also, he confirmed his belief in the messages given by Our Lady to Fr. Gobbi. I find it significant to note that Fr. Iannuzzi, who has a doctorate in spiritual-mystical theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University and who has studied eschatology in such depth, "has no doubt as to the veracity of Don Gobbi's locutions."

    Dear M.T.M.
"I am almost finished with a new book, with the bishop's imprimatur and my diocesan nihil obstat, on the millennium and its circumstantial heresies. It is, in my estimation, infinitely better than my last book. It holds no contradictions to the former, rather elaborates on the numerous inconsistencies in terminology among the burgeoning private revelations. I have no doubt as to the veracity of Don Gobbi's locutions; however, I have several serious concerns as to their interpretation by laity and prelates alike. I pursued my doctorate in spiritual-mystical theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University, magna cum laude. I say this solely to emphasize the credibility of my view in this matter. I often hear the 'coming of the Lord' taken totally out of context from thousands of mystics who have interpreted it in a different light altogether. This is but one of the issues I bring out in my book. If laity and prelates knew this bit of information alone, it would have avoided droves of persons disavowing their belief in Fr. Gobbi's messages and other authentic locutionists…" (emphasis mine)

    In Christ,
    Rev. Joseph Iannuzzi, O.S.J., S.T.D.

    3.

I have used many of the excellent references from Fr. Iannuzzi's first book, some of which I have juxtaposed with Our Lady's messages to Fr. Gobbi and also excerpts from a talk which Fr. Gobbi gave at an international MMP retreat in San Marino in 1996. These prove that Fr. Gobbi is not teaching Millenarianism, but rather the acceptable belief in "The Millennium" to come.

picadillo, do you believe that God can delay his plans based on man's response to prayer and penance? I believe that God did just that on at least two occasions in recent history. 1) in 1984 when he consecrated the world (not Russia) to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I believe, and other prophecy attests to, that this act did indeed delay the tribulation (it bought us more time). 2) I believe that Our Blessed Mother's plea to her son for a little more time (before the end of the past millennium) was granted in the case of Father Gobbi's messages. We know that God works this way, as he has shown his faithful as much throughout scripture. I cannot prove this anymore then you can prove otherwise. We both live on faith in this matter.

Please see Emmett O'Regan's post regarding ways in which that statement may be understood.

Of all the vast prophecies circulating the world these many decades, I personally find the most veracity in the MMP messages. I find them profound, and they have always spoken directly to my heart. No other messages in private revelation have touched me as deeply as those. All others, including Medjugore (which I've visited twice), contain some aspect of doubt in them, for me personally. Not a single MMP message has left me with a doubt, and I have read many of them while on my knees. Yes, I was shaken by the starkness of the time periods mentioned, but I "suspended my disbelief," because I sensed there was a deeper sense I was missing there. And when Saint John Paul II himself began speaking of the Millennium and the prophetic significance of the very year itself, I think I was justified in my suspension of an instinct toward an overly-literal interpretation in the MMP messages.

I went to a cenacle once with Fr. Gobbi. I also have friends who knew him. He was "an ordinary Italian," and, as one of my friends put it, "his ordinariness only added to the remarkable nature of the messages."

If he was deceived, he pulled - and continues to pull - a great many devout and holy priests, bishops and cardinals in his train. Including one very holy priest I know. I do not think they are being deceived.

I was a member of the MMP from 1994-2000, every Sunday our family would attend a cenacle. I may be wrong, but isn't that the same excuse people gave for LTTW, one Msgr Joseph Esseff?

The differences are so vast and obvious I'm confused if you are even directing that question to me.

The supposed trustworthiness of a Msgr acting as the spiritual director to an anonymous locutionist who offered highly questionable messages from the start

    vs.

The Marian Movement of Priests - a movement targeting priests specifically (only secondarily lay people), a movement comprised of a huge number of priests, bishops, and cardinals around the world who joined the movement based, not upon the locutionist himself, but on what they discern as a profound calling in the depths of their souls from Mary herself.

They aren't comparable in any way whatsoever.

  20. If I may... this is what I have posted on my board following the last Locution.

    * * *
And so things were left on September 24th.

As everything is posted here with the caveat that they are aired so that people may see what is being said, they will be left in view -- at least for now -- so that people can continue to see what was being said, and draw their own conclusions.

I am hoping that this will not be merely dropped with no note or explanation by Monsignor Essef, or further follow-up by the Locutionist. Will this be an ending, or will there be more to say... will there be some kind of acceptable follow-up, final conclusion, or a comfortable continuation?

All along it was said that these messages would continue each and every day for our encouragement and understanding -- so now what?

For today, the official Locutions website is blank, and evidently the Monsignor has either removed them entirely or made them invisible, as I have the one-click option to make them invisible to the public here. Was that action by his wisely discerned choice, or was it by necessity from peer pressure? There are contradicting opinions floating around the rumor world.

I'd love to hear what he is thinking, and always did wish we could have heard his reasons for believing that the Locutions were definitely true. His highly respected position was one reason to have aired these. What did he know?

Now many around the neighborhood are calling these Locutions over and done, while I read other thoughtful posts by intelligent folks who offer perfectly worthy thoughts for a positive view.

And some point out that it has been often explained in prophecy that some wars that are waged in the heavenlies are not always even noticed on earth for what they are, in that battle between what Holy Scripture called Principalities and Powers. These Locutions had also stated that everyone would not notice the prophesied "collapse" for what it was. One statement, among others, was this:

The full extent of the collapse will not be realized at first. Like a flood that claims more and more of the dry ground, people will think that they are safe from its effects. Then, they realize that the flood claims them and their homes.

Prophecy is fluid; happenings will be affected by our prayer and responses, and that is a very, very good thing; it must never be forgotten in our responses, and in our resulting discernment.

Having studied these, I can see that there were always qualifications, that one had to take them all together to get at the variances. I can't help but notice that some critics -- and many of them admittedly never even read many of the Locutions -- will pick up on an individual line or message and demand that it match their own expectations, or else.

I have a hard time comprehending that our mortal Enemy would have so many hopeful, glowing things to say about the Church, our crucial war against sin, the need for prayers and sacrifices, for conversion, and for devotion to our Holy God and Savior. If that's our enemy, is he really that stupid, that suicidal?

These were not prophecies that took anyone away from the Church, or from God at all. They brought many closer to their faith, and gave detailed reasons for hope in a chaotic, often disheartening world.

I will necessarily hold this Locutionist's messages at arm's length for now, until or unless we hear more, but I must say that I'm just not quite resigned to call them false yet, for the same reasons I was drawn to consider them seriously before. Not insisting on them, just watching with due care.

It's difficult, if not impossible, to claim100% surity of any prophecies (although I come most close in my belief to a few like Medjugorje), but that surity or unsurity of credibility swings both ways. I offer that it's not impossible that this will turn out to be one of those situations where a little ways down the road, 20/20 hindsight brings more clarity.

I contend that there was much good to be found in these Locutions.

Now where do we go from here?

It is not the time to build new economic skyscrapers but to lay a new foundation of faith deep within. It is time to restore the structures of faith.

This collapse will not be the end but it will be a final warning. Other warnings have not been heeded. This warning, you must listen to.

As always, the Reader decides. It's a war without and within, that much is for sure.
