The meeting with the priest went well today but there is a horrible wound i picked up when I was involved in the occult as a teenager. It never fully healed and is like saint Paul said a thorn in my side I have prayed to God for healing but it won't heal. I dont know does God permit this suffering for a reason for my sanctification
Did the priest pray over you for this healing? If not could you ask for priests to pray over you to heal it.
He did rory. He also gave me anointing of the sick. All I can do now is just trust in God and in his mercy. Several people I have been speaking with have said they felt God's love for me in prayer so I must trust in that.
I see that these wounds did not affect his "sense of sin," whose loss is the sin of the century according to Pius XII. This gift of divine grace was what saved the good thief on the cross, even though he left traces of a lifetime of sins until his agony on the cross beside Christ.
PSALM 70 1 Hasten, O God, to save me; come quickly, LORD, to help me. 2 May those who want to take my life be put to shame and confusion; may all who desire my ruin be turned back in disgrace. 3 May those who say to me, “Aha! Aha!” turn back because of their shame. 4 But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who long for your saving help always say, “The LORD is great!” 5 But as for me, I am poor and needy; come quickly to me, O God. You are my help and my deliverer; LORD, do not delay.
I made the consecration today to Mary at the finish of the 33 day devotion. I still struggle with thoughts that I am damned though. I hope not. I love Jesus very much. I wish these feelings would go away
I seem to be experiencing thoughts and feelings that I am damned for some reason. I hope they are not true. I go to medjugorje every year. I hope Our Lady loves me and can help me. Going through a very difficult trial. I hope God loves me. I feel I am being tested to the limit
Yes this is a terrible test. It probably doesn't help to say this but I will say it anyway. God loves you. He knows your heart. He wants you with Him for eternity. The devil is "the accuser". He wants to drive you to despair with these thoughts. He is a liar. These thoughts are lies. Your suffering united to the Sacred Heart is saving many souls. Your faithfulness in the midst of such attacks is used by Jesus for souls. Hold steady and keep climbing Calvary. Jesus is with you.
I pray several times a day the following prayer based on Psalm 70: Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, hasten to help me, hasten to free me, for great is the force of sin, but greater is the power of your divine grace. I think this serves as a reminder to the enemy of salvation that he can do nothing against the power of divine grace if we take refuge in the holy wounds of Christ and in his Most Sacred Heart.
Sanctus, have you ever got into some of Fr. Chad Ripperger youtube videos? He speaks about how satan attacks us in psychological ways. It's quite insightful and good to know how to combat it back when these thoughts come. The desert fathers used scripture to combat self condemning words. Two books I recommend: Overcoming Spiritual Discouragement by Fr. Timothy Gallagher. Evagrius of Pontus Talking Back. A monastic handbook for combating Demons. Also, Fr. Ripperger books or videos. I am praying for you.
Thanks carmelite. I have books by Father Gabriel Amorth and other priests that I have read. I must check out Father Ripperger. I went to Mass tonight and felt well afterwards, especially after receiving the Holy Eucharist.
So glad to hear. Weekly Confession and Eucharist as much as possible will be your strength. Good that you have read Fr. Amorth. God bless you!!
