What a beautiful apt scripture quote! The Holy Spirit is still alive and kicking in your heart. Let that be a comfort. More prayers!

Very worried about my health at the moment but trying to trust in God. Sometimes I feel abandoned by God. I find lately that I must live by faith and not by sight. There are many good moments too thanks be to God.

Continuing to pray for everyone's intentions ...

Divine Mercy in My Soul (St. Faustina's diary), entry #279:

"God made known to me what true love consists in and gave light to me about how, in
practice, to give proof of it to Him. True love of God consists in carrying out God's will. To
show God our love in what we do, all our actions, even the least, must spring from our love
of God. And the Lord said to me, 'My child, you please Me most by suffering. In your
physical as well as your mental sufferings, My daughter, do not seek sympathy
from creatures. I want the fragrance of your suffering to be pure and
unadulterated. I want you to detach yourself, not only from creatures, but also
from yourself. My daughter, I want to delight in the love of your heart, a pure love,
virginal, unblemished, untarnished. The more you will come to love suffering, My
daughter, the purer your love for Me will be.'
    "

Praying for you everyday on my rosary. I wish I could take it all away,at least for a while but God knows what He is doing. He hears our prayers and answers them. It may not seem like it but He does. Sometimes in ways that seems strange to us.

I used to find time in front of the Blessed Sacrament the best. Thank you for your prayers.

I was just praying last night in front of the Tabernacle wondering what it will be like in heaven with no little crosses or problems or concerns at all. It is impossible to imagine such a thing as our life always is entwined with the Cross. But just to consider is breath taking.

Our Lady in one of her recent messages from Medjugorje said to "sacrifice yourselves " for others. Perhaps this means suffering also.

I feel under attack spiritually from the evil one at times but try to trust in God who is love and mercy itself. The evil one tries to convince me that he has me but I try to reject this lie as I am trying my best to do God's will. Padre Pio said if we feel under attack by the devil it is not necessarily a bad thing because it is a sign he is outside and not inside. Padre Pio also said it is a sign we are doing well the more we experience attacks of a spiritual nature.

I was thinking of you tonight and before Mass Peter. What made me thing of you was this: Every few weeks or I get a kind of sad day a day when the clouds kind of block the sun. It kind of creeps up on me so I don't recognise it at first but when I do it feels much better as I understand what it is and that it is only passing.

So my heart goes out to you for in your case I know it is not passing and is far, far worse.

But it may seem terrible for you who are in it, but for someone like myself who is on the outside looking in I think your Faith and perseverance in all this are simply marvellous. I find even a day of slight sadness a trial so I am really in deep admiration of someone like yourself who carries ,much worse all the time.

    Anyway still praying for you.

Thanks Padraig. I try to keep going and persevering. I keep thanking and telling God that I love Him.

Could it be Padraig in some instinctual way in your soul a kind of internalised home-sickness since you have all so suddenly detached youself from your roots, leaving Ireland and settling in a new environment?

It is totally amazing what you have done, you have my admiration to be able to do that it is far from easy but we all on the forum clearly see the hand of our Lady is all of this.

    It is totally, totally amazing.

PS - I had to come back to say personally I am in awe of what you have done and the incredible progress you have made on your new home!!

No I used to get this in Ireland too. My father used to get quite severe depression and had to go to bed to get over it. I hear it is a kind of Irish thing a kind of Irish sadness that creeps up on many of us. In my case it is quite slight compared to my fathers. A little cross.

It might sound crazy but I think it has a lot to do with lack of sun and the Irish weather.

Although I see Irish Americans are afflicted with this too. It really is deep in our genes.

Yes, it is a melancholy. It is my family as well my grandfather and father used to have such days too.

We can always offer up the sad days.
