LGBT in the Church

We are all being lulled to sleep, while the gay lobby have gained the upper hand. The feel-good Christians will soon see that these supporters of Sodomy will have all the power to stifle your Christian faith and they already are. Christians are such suckers and will fall from their own faith or be persecuted within it if they don't wake up and see what is going on here behind the scene's of Freemasonry. This has been their plan all along. They were very successful in planting homosexuals in the Catholic seminaries in the 50's and 60's, which brought the Church to shame and its own apology tour. It has gone from love the sinner to hate the sin, to love the sinner and accept his sin. Totally sucked in.

    Romans Chapter 1
    [21]
Because that, when they knew God, they have not glorified him as God, or given thanks; but became vain in their thoughts, and their foolish heart was darkened. [22] For professing themselves to be wise, they became fools. [23] And they changed the glory of the incorruptible God into the likeness of the image of a corruptible man, and of birds, and of fourfooted beasts, and of creeping things. [24] Wherefore God gave them up to the desires of their heart, unto uncleanness, to dishonour their own bodies among themselves. [25] Who changed the truth of God into a lie; and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

[26] For this cause God delivered them up to shameful affections. For their women have changed the natural use into that use which is against nature. [27] And, in like manner, the men also, leaving the natural use of the women, have burned in their lusts one towards another, men with men working that which is filthy, and receiving in themselves the recompense which was due to their error. [28] And as they liked not to have God in their knowledge, God delivered them up to a reprobate sense, to do those things which are not convenient; [29] Being filled with all iniquity, malice, fornication, avarice, wickedness, full of envy, murder, contention, deceit, malignity, whisperers, [30] Detractors, hateful to God, contumelious, proud, haughty, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

[31] Foolish, dissolute, without affection, without fidelity, without mercy. [32] Who, having known the justice of God, did not understand that they who do such things, are worthy of death; and not only they that do them, but they also that consent to them that do them.

    Exactly Fallen Saint!
It defines a person by their sin.
It's like saying "That guy over there is Joe the thief" about someone who has Kleptomania.

    Thanks for this Blizzard,
This is the exact problem with the Church today.

It is not that much of what they are saying is untrue, but it is half the story.
Telling people about Heaven, but not Hell.
    Goodness, but not sin.
    God, but not the devil.

Much of what is preached from the pulpits is real, but they neglect to mention anything unsettling.
    A Church of "nice".
Sounds wonderful. The only problem is it is the fast track to Hell.

Without reading the book I can't comment on what it says or what sort of stance it takes, but I do think that we Catholics need to reach out to people that experience same sex attraction and meet them where they are at, and we need to do so urgently; otherwise they are going to go elsewhere and be fed a whole load of rubbish and lies that lead them further down the road to misery and perdition. They are our brothers and sisters and we need to introduce them to Jesus. This film is worth watching.

A wonderful film I wholeheartedly endorse. We are all called to chastity. Thank you, Adoremus, for bringing it to my attention.

Safe in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary!

What does it mean to "reach out to people that experience same sex attraction and meet them where they are at"? If "where they are at" means they are searching for truth, then I am all for it. If it means to tolerate their choice and undermine the clear teachings of The Father and the Son then it is false compassion. Treat them with respect, yes, but making them feel comfortable in their sinful tendencies is not compassion, it is false tolerance. The truth does not and should not change, just because you are in the presence of those who choose the abomination of gay life style. The same would go for those who are in adulterous relationship. Pandering to their choice is not love. Truth in love is their only hope and this we can pray for.

No, I'm not talking about false compassion or tolerating their sinful choices or making them feel comfortable in their sinful tendencies or changing the truth to suit their lifestyle. I'm not talking about pandering to the gay agenda, I'm talking about dealing with individual people, and seeing them first and foremost as sons and daughters of God and not as LGBT-whatever.

I suppose what I mean by reaching out to them where they are at is to start by at least having a conversation, listening to where they are at, and then presenting them with the truth. If you don't have a conversation, how do you know whether they are searching for the truth or not? It is up to them whether they accept or reject the truth when it's presented to them, but if there's not even a conversation then they're never going to hear it. We can't stand around waiting for them to come to us, we need to take more of an offence position.

This all sounds good, but in my small world, I have not found this to work. In order for this to take place, one would have to to be a fairly close acquaintance to even know they are gay. I have a cousin and a nephew who are gay. Have always treated them with respect. They know that I am Catholic and what the Catholic church and scripture teaches on this subject. Knowing what scripture alone teaches on homosexuality should keep most from perusing true Christianity. So why would they want to be Christian when they bible is so hostile to this way of life? Unless they are reaching out to you, it would be very hard to get on first base with them by talking faith. This is what I mean by "reaching out to them". It would have to be a very unique situation before you could reach their soul. This all sounds Christian and a good thing, but in most cases it is most impractical to happen. Prayer seems to be our only recourse in most situations. Most gays are very hostile to anyone who dare hint their way of life is anything but good. They would be in your face in a heart beat if they thought you looked at them with disgust for their way of life.

Thanks Fatima for sharing your situation
I have a friend since senior year in high school
    Fallen away Catholic
She has niece and host of friends who are gay
    She is not
She knows in her heart this is wrong
But is trying all kinds of new age garbage to make herself feel better after showing "solidarity" and false mercy
Her whole life revolves around these people like some kind of drug
She and I get together for lunch occasionally and it is awkward
We mostly talk about our old days and memories
    I just pray for her
Sometimes at Mass I tell Jesus that I am bringing souls along with me to Mass and she is one of them

A miracle happened to reconnect me with this friend from high school
I had been praying to the Lord that I could find her again
About three years ago I was doing my regular hour of Adoration in my parish chapel on Thursday from 10-11 am
There was a funeral Mass set to begin in the main church
The door opened and this lady came in to the chapel during Adoration and it was my long lost friend!!!!!
Ever since then I know in my heart that Jesus brought us together after all these years
    She knows it as well
One of these days she will come back to the Sacraments, I hope

You are on the right track. I have experience coaching kids with two moms. I am always cordial and polite. All we can do is be good examples to the kids and to the parents. That is the only thing God is asking us to do. Sure we pray for them but bringing fire and brimstone and castigating them...is not our calling. God will send His prophets but not sure it is the majority of the Catholic population.

Saints lead by example...first to work, last to complain.

Saints lead by example...first to forgive last to condemn.

    Saints lead by example :)

I get what you mean. I don't pretend to have it all figured out, I'm just trying, like everyone else. I recently found out that a friend, someone I cared a lot about at one stage in my life and whom I considered to be 110% heterosexual, is now identifying as gay. I am disgusted and disappointed and a little heartbroken for him. It's sad and I'm just trying to figure out how someone brought up in a Catholic family of eight children and good parents would go down this route. I know it can't have been easy for him to come to redefine himself to this degree without some major internal upheavals going on and I'm just trying to understand and figure out whether something could have been done sooner had I known all this was going on. He got caught by the net of the LGBT narrative of false compassion instead of the net of Christ's authentic love and I can't help feeling that as a disciple of Christ I am at least to some tiny degree responsible for that. That's all. I'll keep praying for him.

Ditto. I have a few gay family members as well. What I find amazing is the expectation that I (and all other Catholic family members) would change my beliefs/ compromise my morals after they "came out" to the family. After that, we had to deal with their anger because their lifestyle wasn't wholeheartedly embraced and given approval. And now, the family has now split into two camps...those who endorse their lifestyle choice, and those who don't. Satan is really doing all he can to divide families!

Brother Al. I have not seen "fire and brimstone" over this issue ever in the church and I am 58 years old. Is it the truth that you are calling "fire and brimstone" and are you ashamed of the truth, not how some extremist may have handled it please. Truthfully answer my question. I believe Pope Francis's "who am I to judge" comment as being cowardly and an abandonment/betrayal of Jesus Christ teaching.

The way most of you write is fire and brimestone. Not sure any of us...are spiritually clean enough to condemn others.

Our Holy Father is not a coward... he just understands sin and humility.

Are you ashamed of the truth Brother Al? Do you not believe in the truth? Do you not believe this truth will set you free?
