{adraig, you are describin my dream house, I am renting a house at the moment but I love sitting out the back praying my rosary and asking the Angels to tend to the garden so that everything I plant will grow and glorify God and keep the animals going (I have foxes who visit me) and so I try to plant fruit trees and bushes and vegetables. I dont know if it is a shine and the way people understnad it, but it is my shrine to God. I feel close to Heaven there and would love to live so that gardening would be my my little bit of Heaven... I don;t know if that counts, but it matters to me.

 

Confusing times for me as well.

But I imagine what it would have been like for the first disciples during Holy Week. Joy and expectation when Jesus arrived in Jerusalem. Shock and horror when he was arrested, beaten, and crucified. I can imagine them saying under their breath "do something! show them who you really are! we gave up everything to follow you, justify our faith in you!". But nothing happened. Nothing worked out the way they expected it to. Jesus was killed. I can imagine them thinking on that Saturday "we believed he was the promised messiah but now the dream is over". But of course all that changed on Sunday when they finally began to understand what God was doing in Jesus.

It can be hard to live through the unfolding of God's plans

 

Yes, now like then difficult times. I must try to be more positive. The Church for instance still has many, many saints. I see some of them at mass every day.
