I wonder if the people who passed the laws that led to this lady being imprisoned really how divisive this all is and what great harm it does to the Union. How it will divide America and lead to bitterness. Is all this really worth it? It reminds me how sin can blind people. 2 Corinthians 4:4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
She stood up to them and they backed down. Kim Davis 1 : The Judge 0 (for our American friends this is soccer terminology).
Intresting shes released on Our Ladys Birthday... The Triumpth of Her Immaculate Heart is underway for sure, put your seat belt on folks!
Perhaps I am looking at this on too deep a level, but is it possible the judge sent her to jail to give the Christians a "Martyr to the cause"? The attorneys for the gay side of the court case asked him not to send her to jail so as to specifically avoid making her a martyr. They wanted her to be fined. I don't know, just a thought.
Kim Davis released, but judge bars her from withholding marriage licenses Kim Davis, the Kentucky clerk who was jailed in contempt of court for refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses, cried and smiled as she stood before a crowd of supporters after her release from jail Tuesday. "Thank you all so much. I love you all so very much," she said. "I just want to give God the glory. His people have rallied, and you are a strong people." Davis plans to return to work this week, attorney Mat Staver told reporters. Asked by a reporter whether her stay in jail was worth it, Davis smiled and nodded. "I can guarantee you, knowing Kim, she loves God, she loves people, she loves her work, and she will not betray any of those three," Staver said. "She'll do her job good. She'll serve the people...and she'll also be loyal to God, and she's not going to violate her conscience." Republican presidential contender Gov. Mike Huckabee, who has championed the cause of Davis, said Tuesday that he stands with her and would go to jail in her place. Speaking at a rally in support of Davis, Huckabee said he had a message for the judge who sent her to jail last week and ordered her release Tuesday. "Let Kim go, but if you have to put someone in jail, I volunteer to go. Let me go. Lock me up if you think that's how freedom is best served," Huckabee said. "Because folks, I am willing to spend the next eight years in the White House leading in this country. But I want you to know I'm willing to spend the next eight years in jail, but I'm not willing to spend the next years in tyranny under people who think they can take our freedom and conscience away." [Previous story, posted at 2:47 p.m. ET Tuesday] A Kentucky clerk who was jailed for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples was freed Tuesday, but the judge who issued the order also attached a caveat she may not be willing to accept. U.S. District Judge David Bunning ordered that Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis be released from jail Tuesday -- five days after he sent her there -- saying he was satisfied that her deputies fulfilled their obligations to give marriage licenses to same-sex couples in her absence. Ted Cruz: 'Praise God that Kim Davis is being released' But Bunning's new order says Davis, once free, still cannot interfere with her deputies issuing marriage licenses to all legally eligible couples. It wasn't immediately clear how Davis would react to the order, but she has said she will not authorize her office to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples if her name remains on the certificate. Bunning's order makes no mention of revising the licenses to accommodate Davis, who says issuing a license with her name on it would violate her Christian convictions against same-sex marriage. Read the judge's order Tuesday's order came as hundreds of Davis' supporters rallied outside the jail, and just before two Republican presidential hopefuls, Mike Huckabee and Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, were to meet with Davis there as a show of support. One of Davis' attorneys said Bunning hasn't resolved anything. "We've asked for a simple solution -- get her name and authority off the certificate. The judge could order that," attorney Mat Staver said shortly before Davis was released. Asked if she would refuse marriage licenses to same-sex couples after leaving jail, Staver said: "I have to talk to her. ... But I do know for very clear she will not compromise her conscience." Huckabee arrived just after Bunning's order was announced; it appeared the former Arkansas governor still would meet with Davis inside the facility. Counsel: Ky. clerk wants her name off marriage license Counsel: Ky. clerk wants her name off marriage license 03:18 Bunning ordered Davis to jail on Thursday after finding her in contempt of court for refusing to issue marriage licenses to gay couples in Rowan County following June's U.S. Supreme Court ruling legalizing same-sex marriage. http://www.cnn.com/2015/09/08/politics/kim-davis-same-sex-marriage-kentucky/
There have been some very, very clever people advising the Judge here I think, to do a fix. Lots of calls from nervous very smart people in Washington, knowing this could all blow up in their faces.
Watching her head Lawyer address the crowd of Kims past life... 4 marriages. He noted she didn't even believe in God in those years. It was when Kims Mother in law was dieing, asked her to go to Church. So she went and broke out in tears over how much God loved her and made an alter call that changed Kims life... The lawyer was preaching the Gospel a bit and MSNBC cut to coverage of Hillarys campaign! I really did an LOL what a contrast ! aservant of our Lord Jesus and a women who pushes the culture of Death! I cant stand MSNBC but that's all I have right now....HEAVY penance watching....sighhh
Hilary might well end up in jail herself one of these fine days....uneasy is the head that wears the Crown.
One of Davis' attorneys said Bunning hasn't resolved anything. "We've asked for a simple solution -- get her name and authority off the certificate. The judge could order that," attorney Mat Staver said shortly before Davis was released. So it looks as if nothing is resolved yet. ?
Hope your right. One of her Lawyers stated the same on PMSNBC...aka msnbc. This situation can erupt on her first day back, you know every homo in the world is lineing up to meet Kim, pray for her!!!!
In the end Kim will win if God wills it of course because Kim has this on her side in the state of Kentucky: Originally called House Bill 279 (HB279), Kentucky’s RFRA states: Government shall not substantially burden a person’s freedom of religion. The right to act or refuse to act in a manner motivated by a sincerely held religious belief may not be substantially burdened unless the government proves by clear and convincing evidence that it has a compelling governmental interest in infringing the specific act or refusal to act and has used the least restrictive means to further that interest. A “burden” shall include indirect burdens such as withholding benefits, assessing penalties, or an exclusion from programs or access to facilities. – Kentucky HB279 Draft as of 4-4-2013 The government is not burdened by her request to not have her name in the documents. They can easily change to Rowan County Clerk only and not Kim Davis, Rowan County Clerk. That is all she is asking. She feels by having her name on the docs, this is in some way a personal endorsement of her beliefs.
Kim Davis returned to work this morning and has said she will stick by her faith and will not issue marriage licenses to same sex couples. She said she will not stop her staff from doing so, but they cannot issue them with her name on them, which raises the question if these are legal since under Kentucky state law only the County Clerk can issue them. I guess we want and see now if the judge sends her back to jail. I give her much credit for standing up for her beliefs. http://www.cnn.com/2015/09/14/politics/kim-davis-same-sex-marriage-kentucky/index.html
