U.S. officials provided Taliban with names of Americans, Afghan allies to evacuate
“Basically, they just put all those Afghans on a kill list,” said one defense official.
After the fall of Kabul, in the earliest days of the evacuation, the joint U.S. military and diplomatic coordination team at the airport provided the Taliban with a list of people the U.S. aimed to evacuate. Those names included Afghans who served alongside the U.S. during the 20-year war and sought special immigrant visas to America. U.S. citizens, dual nationals and lawful permanent residents were also listed.

“They had to do that because of the security situation the White House created by allowing the Taliban to control everything outside the airport,” one U.S. official said.

But after thousands of visa applicants arrived at the airport, overwhelming the capacity of the U.S. to process them, the State Department changed course — asking the applicants not to come to the airport and instead requesting they wait until they were cleared for entry. From then on, the list fed to the Taliban didn’t include those Afghan names.

As of Aug. 25, only U.S. passport and green card holders were being accepted as eligible for evacuation, the defense official said.

door-to-door in search of Afghan interpreters and others who helped U.S. and Western forces.

In written and verbal communications, Gen. Frank McKenzie, commander of U.S. Central Command, and Rear Adm. Peter Vasely, head of U.S. forces on the ground in Afghanistan, have referred to the Taliban as “our Afghan partners,” according to two defense officials.

The Biden administration has been coordinating the evacuation effort and airport security with the Taliban, which is running the checkpoints outside the airport’s outer perimeter. Officials have been “in daily communication” with Taliban commanders about who to let in, Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby told reporters this week.

The news comes just hours after two Islamic State terrorist attacks rocked the area just outside the airport, killing at least four U.S. Marines and wounding dozens more. A number of Afghans were also killed in the bombings.

After the attacks, Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chair Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) appeared to criticize the Biden administration’s strategy of coordinating with the Taliban, writing in a statement: “As we wait for more details to come in, one thing is clear: We can’t trust the Taliban with Americans’ security.”

You know that feeling you had on 9/11 when the second plane hit the tower.....you should have that same feeling right now.

I stopped being immersed in the news awhile ago and I try to be immersed in prayer instead but something told me to watch Tucker Carlson's show last night which was very good imho especially his interview of Glenn Beck who I believe teared up in the interview. I looked for the whole show online and I couldn't find it nor could I find the whole interview of Glenn Beck but this article gives you a decent summary. God bless all, "Jesus I trust in You". +

Glenn Beck claims US State Dept. and Biden's White House are BLOCKING his efforts to rescue Afghan Christians from the Taliban who 'want to set them on fire'

    • Beck claimed on Thursday that the State Department blocked his rescue effort
    • His group the Nazarene Fund is attempting to evacuate Afghan Christians
    • He fears some were killed in suicide blast after being turned back at airport
    • Beck said his organization has saved 5,100 Afghans from persecution
    • It is unclear how many Christian Afghans are left in the country

    GOD BLESS GLENN BECK!
Glenn Beck is not waiting for the government to rescue the innocent people stranded in Afghanistan , he is doing it with our help! He donated a quarter of a million of his own money!
He appealed to his audience to be a “Schindler” and give until it hurts! Thank God that good folks heard and answered the call. Lives are being saved by his good audience!

Beck appealed to Proverbs 24:11, which says, “Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.”

The conservative host also announced Tuesday that a third flight had taken off, posting an image on social media.

Back in '17 or thereabouts, Democrats announced to us that we've got to get uncomfortable.

    They sure meant it.

This is dreadful Carol. I saw some Tweets from Glen Beck yesterday about this, but I was not aware of the details, this is incredibly disturbing. There is something very, very wrong with the entire operation in Afghanistan. Glen Beck's story gives me a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach, none of this adds up. :(

NEW: Hundreds of Afghan students & alumni of American University in Kabul told evacuations are canceled after 7 hours waiting in buses today to get to the airport. They are in panic and say their names and passport information was shared with the Taliban.

“They told us: we have given your names to the Taliban,” said Hossy, a 24-year-old sophomore studying business administration who was on the bus on Sunday. “We are all terrified, there is no evacuation, there is no getting out.”

I came back online since two hours ago.

All Afghan-based social media I've been following, with one exception (an American), are SILENT. :coffee:

    Maybe they're all sleeping? (n)

    If not, they've lost connectivity.

Report: Biden Pressured Afghan President To Create ‘Perception’ Taliban Wasn’t Winning ‘Whether It Is True Or Not’
    By Rusty Weiss September 1, 2021 at 11:01am | https://thepoliticalinsider.com/rep...iban-wasnt-winning-whether-it-is-true-or-not/

A bombshell report claims that Joe Biden called Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in July and pressured him to create the “perception” that the Taliban was under control “whether it is true or not.”

Reuters on Tuesday revealed details of a transcript that was leaked of the phone call between Biden and Ghani on July 23rd. They also listened to the audio of the roughly 14-minute conversation.

The results are a startling display of President Biden encouraging Ghani to shape the narrative – or worse, outright lie – about the situation in Afghanistan both to the world, and by extension the American people.

According to Reuters, Biden repeatedly focused on what he called Afghanistan’s “perception” problem.

“I need not tell you the perception around the world and in parts of Afghanistan, I believe, is that things are not going well in terms of the fight against the Taliban,” the President pressed.

“And there is a need, whether it is true or not, there is a need to project a different picture.”
