Oddly enough, a new job opportunity has come up. I'm not sure if God wants this for me so I'm going forward with applying for it but with a careful attitude. If you could pray for me on this one, I'd appreciate it. Some of my religious conflicts would be resolved in this job change and I would be able to spend more time with my family and maybe get out from under some dept. I'm just not sure it's God's will though :? thanks much, Kath :?
Will Say a prayer for you. Mother Angelica was asked once when she knew it was God that opened the door. Her response was "that after prayer she would head for that door and if it remained open she knew it was Gods will. If it wasn't the door would the close." A simple but profound faith.
Hi Kathleen: Having a job without Catholic conflicts sounds really great. I pray it works out for you. If not, may you find something even better. Job hunting is stressful so I hope you land something you enjoy soon.
I'll be praying for you at Mass this morning, Kathleen. I admire the way you seek God's Will. God's Will, which is every star that should guide us.
Thanks so much. Its hard to know whats right in this day and age. Would you do me a favor and ask for a special message? I am wondering if the therapuetic technique is something of or against God. I would assume it is of God but it never seems to be paired with faith so I'm wondering if it is more along the lines of Yoga, something to be wary of. I am not getting a clear answer and If you might try to pray on it on my behalf, I think I'll get an answer to my question. It's a core piece of my current job and I'm really concerned about it. In God's love, Kath
I was shown a picture of a lady, clothed in ancient garb submerging a piece of cloth in a river. This means that what you are doing is fine but it shown be permeated by prayer, that prayer should be used , not as an adjunct but all done in this regard should be through, with, in and led by prayer. The cloth stands for what you do, the water is the Holy Spirt and so by soaking it in prayer, your work, it becomes full of the Spirit and the Gifts of the Spirit ans so becomes truly effective. Hope this helps.....
Kathleen, I've always used the open/close door prayer with God. If it is something HE wants I ask Him to open every door, if it's not what He would have, I ask Him to shut every door. Sometimes He slams it but I get the answer just the same. I like Padraig's take on it, take it all to prayer and live there!
I agree- unfortunately my employers and co-workers don't- so I may have to seek to be closer to God elsewhere if they don't like my bringing Him to work every day. LOL! For now I'm going to be brave and just be Catholic and start pushing the prayer with the staff and clients who will listen and not worry about those who won't. I feel so at peace with this decision- like the opportunity to work elsewhere was a catalyst to my not worrying anymore about losing my job. Before it was important to keep my job for the sake of those who I worked with but now I realize that where-ever I am, God will put me in a helping role and I'll do good on his behalf. I do appreciate the input and encouragement. It's given me comfort. I'll let you know if I get the job but I can honestly say I'm not worried God's Will, Kath
Matthew 10:39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
Kathleen, I will pray for you for this new job and that it be the right decision for you. Perhaps you can also pray for me as I am heavily looking for a new job now and financially i am in dire need. I too am trying to find that marriage between working for God and paying my bills. I wish I could see if the doors were open or closed. I find it very hard to see them. I have resumes out now and am hoping for something - or I will have to go back to waiting tables at night like I used to do when the children were young and my day job was not enough. But so much tells me this is not the right answer. I still feel a close connection with you, maybe the new job you are looking at will have another position available for me? LOL
Connie:Funny you should ask- career counseling is my favorite thing to do! Tell me what areas your degrees and experiences are in? That will help me greatly. One really nice thing about this job opportunity (High school social worker/counselor) is that it will bring me north to Henry so I'd be much closer to you and we could have coffee! I'll keep a look out and have my hubbie do so as well for job opportunities around Henry and at the community college. Kath
"Funny you should ask" but of course...LOL Miracles never cease, do they...I am overwhelmed and amazed this morning about this and other things that are happening. Thank you for the kind offer! I need to just give you a call sometime or get down there to visit...too much to email. Oh I think a school counselor is a great thing, I have been considering the idea of substitute teaching myself. I cannot move to Henry though...my husband's job is in Rockford and our elderly parents are here in Freeport. BUT I have a couple of light bulb accounts in Henry that I never visit because it is a bit of a trek! LOL
substitute teaching can be really lucritive! I recommend you go check it out- it might be just the way to fill in the holes and you can keep your accounts as well since you wont work every day. I would love to chat with you. Kath
I seem to find that when you're at peace about a decision, it's most likely God answering you with a."yes. I'll pray it works out for you!
I heard today that I am "too qualified as therapist with years of experience, but yet not qualified because I don't have a social work degree". Isn't that just the way things go. I know God had a hand in this- for now I know I am where he wants me to be and I've become more brave in saying my thoughts and being an active Christian Counselor in my role. I've been taking more leaps of faith since this all started- I had been having Padraig pray for me and it has worked. I may get fired, but I feel freed. So Thanks everyone! I really appreciate this grounded feeling I have and the support I've been getting as I sorted this out (God's will). I'm still open to changing jobs if God wants. I still have a plan for that in about two years that I'm excited about, but I can stay put until then. Life is Good and God is Great! Kath
