This intention will share in a month of Masses in the Augustinian Church where I attended Mass one day last week.

Don't be hard on yourself. You are a good mother, wife, daughter and sister and, clearly, a very devout Catholic who puts many of us to shame. Your family are blessed to have you and you are a shining light of unwavering faith to those of us who frequent this forum.

There's nothing admirable about me. As I head into my final years on earth, there's nothing I can look back on in my life that would have marked me out as a loyal servant of our Lord and Saviour. Having a keyboard never made anyone a Saint. The holiest people I know are quiet and unassuming.

Young mothers like you are the hope for the future of the Church and society. Gentle, caring mothers with deep faith raise sons and daughters that the Lord calls to labour in His vineyard. Families like yours are the bedrock of a stable society. That's why the evil father of chaos targets families. Don't ever feel inadequate. What you have is priceless and it's what most people long for deep in their hearts.

You got some great advice on this thread from people who have been there and done that. Don't hesitate to ask for help from the people around you. Some will help and some won't but they won't know you need a helping hand unless you tell them.

I'll keep you in my prayers.

I thought of you when I heard this very wise, biblically based advice. It is meant for everyone, as we all tend to judge ourselves quite harshly in our pursuit of holiness☺️.

Thank you for this. I do need to be reminded of this from time to time!

"There's nothing admirable about me" !!!!
    Maria, you're very wrong there....
There's not many that would drive from one side of a country to another, to help-out a stranger!
You're generosity is still talked about in our house in Derry to this day.
One day I hope to emulate your generosity, and help someone else similarly.

I remember when she did that. It was indeed a generous act.

Truth. I remember very well Maria doing that incredibly kind and necessary deed. It may have saved your life quite honestly.
