this is from Anna Shawl with Medjugorje Wed. I thought you'd like this, I did. [mir_peace_shalom] Ivan's apparition on the Hill June 24, 2011 To: mailto:mir_peace_shalom@yahoogroups.com Hi there dear prayer group family, Happy Anniversary to you all. Today is a wonderful day isn't it. Our Lady has called us now for 30 years here. Everyone I talk to in Medjugorje is saying the same thing. All the people who have been here from the very beginning, all the parishioners, villagers are saying and feeling the same thing. There are many people here of course but the day is beautiful. It is hot and sunny but Our Lady brought today also a fresh wind that is cooling all the pilgrims down. There is not a cloud in the sky right now but still this wind is cool and refreshing although it is over 100 degrees outside. Last night, on the 24th, Ivan had his apparition for the prayer group on the hill. The night of the 23rd, Our Lady told Ivan during his regular 6:40 apparition that she would be on the hill and all in Medjugorje were invited. Also, all of you in the prayer group since we are closely linked with Ivan and his prayer group through Nedjo, were invited and you were there in my heart! First of all, to recount the evening for you: Our Lady said that she would be on Apparition Hill, at the top at 11:00. Ivan had written to say to the prayer group thought that we were to be up on the hill at 9:30 to prepare with prayer. And so, everyone climbed the hill. It was sweltering hot, very little breeze if at all but it seems like the entire village of Medjugorje was there. The Sunset on the way up was Incredible. Rays of light shone everywhere and so many had said they had never seen a sunset like that. People were taking pictures left and right and if I can get one from the group, I'll try to post it to show you. We got to the top by the statue and prayed the Sorrowful and Glorious mysteries. While we were praying, it was close to 10:45 there was thunder and lightning up on the hill but no rain, not a drop. That lasted for about 15 minutes. During the apparition it all stopped and the hill was silent even with so many people. The apparition went like this: Ivan said, Our Lady came and whenever she comes she brings Heaven with her. She came dressed all in Gold. She came with three angels. She was very happy and joyful when she said the words, Praised be Jesus my dear children! She prayed over all of us with her hands extended for a long time. She prayed for all of our intentions, our needs, problems and especially over all the sick that were there. I prayed for all of you, all IIPG members and your petitions. She blessed everything that the people had brought to be blessed and then, after this Our Lady said: My dear children, Also today I rejoice with you. Today with joy I call you to accept my messages and live my messages. Let my messages become life. Instill them in your lives. Let them be the food on your life's journey. Little children, know that I am with you when it is the most difficult for you, that I may encourage you and comfort you and intercede before my Son for all of you. Therefore, dear children, persevere in prayer and do not be afraid. Follow me without fear. Ivan talked about how much these 30 years have meant to him. How he still remembers these days just as though they were yesterday. He remembers his youth, how simple he was and will never forget the moments before everything in his life would change and everything in our lives would change too. So, anyway, there you go. Well, Our Lady, 30 years ago, was sent by God to call her children back home like never before. She is a Mother looking for her lost children. A mother who has cried so many tears because she can not reach some of them. A mother who will not stop until she has found all her children and has given them a chance to come back to her and her son. A mother who is begging us for help in finding our lost brothers and sisters. We have to help her, if we don't who will. I am so happy in this prayer group that we have told her, yes mother, I will help you, I will tell others that you are here and are looking for them. We can pray so that many hearts will be softened and return to you and your Son. We need to persevere because she can't stop looking and calling for her children and they have no idea what wonderful people are Jesus and Mary and their love. Let us please continue to renew these messages and answer her call. Don't you just want to stop and give Our Lady a big hug. We are all better people I believe because we have answered Our Lady and in doing so she has prayed and we have accepted a change in our lives. We are on our way to conversion and I pray we can all hear Jesus say to us one day. "Well done my good and faithful servant" God Bless you all and have a wonderful wonderful Anniversary today. Love Ana
Yes, I liked it very much; what beautiful, wonderful message! Thank you for posting this Lee... I was unable to follow this online yesterday so I am very grateful for this... again, thank you. Linda
Oh how nice you have re-surfaced Linda...how are you? and your healing? Please God let it be thorough.
Hi Lee, Life has been pretty eventful and busy. Well, my healing is such that I haven't had an asthma attack since February...(Praise God!), my allergies are under better control, yet I have enough left behind to keep me close to Jesus. I have since been blessed with a new grandson named Nathan and I get to care for him twice a week, which is a real blessing because all of my other grandchildren live in other states and didn't have this privilege, I am enjoying every beautiful second with him and his brother Wil...
So I see Our Lady has led you out of that frightening place of uncertainty and into relief and love. When you spoke about your sweet grandson I could almost smell that "baby smell", especially found around his neck. Yummy! Better than roses. How blessed you are, how blessed. Glory to God. It's such a confirmation to hear that you are out of danger. Thanks for the update and may God continue to bless you.
Linda that is wonderful! I remember all of us praying for you, and the scary hospital stays you had. Thank God! And now you have a new grandson to care for! They keep us young and looking forward with hope, don't they? They are our future, if we don't get to see the peace that Mary is striving for, perhaps they will.
I'm not sure if this is the right post to describe my experience but I have held on to it long enough. I am not Catholic. I love some of the Catholic services I have watched on TV. May 22, 1968, I was in hospital trying to give birth to my daughter. I had many difficulties and many doctors watching over me. It was a critical time, hemoraging so much blood is very scarey. Finally the baby was born. I was so worried about her. I was in St. Joseph hospital in Augusta Ga. I was praying for my child when the room filled with light, brilliant blinding light. I could barely see, but after a few seconds I could see the Virgin Mary. She had so much light on her face I could only make out an outline of her face. She was wearing a blue mantle trimmed in white. She reached out to me and I took her hand. Her message was very straight forward...your baby will be fine, and you will both live long lives. You are greatly loved. A nurse came into the room and asked why my hand was in the air. I told her she wouldn't believe me. She said, Try me, i've heard it all. I told her that the Virgin Mary was here, holding my hand...she said HOLD ON, and ran out of the room and then two nuns came quickly into the room and asked me questions and wrote my answers down in a book. They told me that it was not uncommon for the Virgin to appear to new Mothers. All these years I have thought about what happened...never told anyone but my daughter. I often have conversations with Mary...and I always thank God for her. I don't know how to explain my recent "feelings" that something is about to happen. I was looking over all the prayers I have offered to Mary in the last few years and just kept feeling so strongly that she is very near. I know she is alive in the world...but this felt even closer. Then I received mail that described Garabandal and it all seemed to come together. I feel so blessed. I feel very much at peace and comforted by the events in Garabandal. In faith and service to God...I offer this event to the forum. Thank you
Thanks for sharing Mary - beautiful - you were giving birth to a child in 'St Joseph's' and our Our Blessed Mother appeared -- how wonderful that you were so blessed. God loves us so much it is breath-taking! You have lifted my spirit today!! Garabandal
MaryP, As far as I know, Our Lady doesn't usually reveal herself to non-Catholics and/or non-Orthodox. What a special blessing! May she always take your hand and draw you closer to Jesus! Welcome to the forum! Safe in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary!
Oh Mario, So not true! We just don't hear about it or discuss it much in our Catholic circles. I bet those nuns in that hospital would say otherwise. What about all the non-Catholics who go to Medjugorje or Garabandal, or who have seen the miracle of the sun, or perhaps healings and other things? Someone I know who is an Episcopal has a sister. His sister was a non-practicing Methodist. One day, she saw Mary reflected in a mirror behind her. Mary spoke to her and told her she wanted her to bring souls to her Son. She did not ask her to become Catholic. This woman is now a Methodist Minister. This is a true story. The older brother of hers who told me, did so only because of my stories about Medjugorje. It is something he cannot share with everyone because so many do not accept Mary's appearances. When he began the story, he said to me, "You know, I don't tell many people this, but it is because of the Virgin Mary that my sister is a minister today. Mary called her!" I also love to watch the series, "The Journey Home" on EWTN, where you hear lots of conversion stories from people who have come back, or come to, the Catholic faith from another faith. Many of them have experiences well before becoming Catholic which influence them, and many of these experiences involve our Blessed Mother. I think there is so much more going on that we have no idea about. Which is why I do not discount the stories of appearances and messages I hear about as quickly as some do. To Mary we are all her Children, not her Catholics. I do believe though that as Catholics we are generally more in-tune with her, and may be more receptive to her call. I think perhaps others who are not Catholic do not recognize her intervention as easily, or they turn away from it. Sad, but true. I believe that being Catholic is best, as it is the root, the beginning, of Christianity. I believe we should work within the Catholic faith, not against it or outside of it. So I encourage all people to come home, but do they have to? Well, that is between them and God, or perhaps even Mary. I don't think it is a requirement for everyone, but I do think it is the rock of the Christian faith. And I, for one, need the rock at my foundation. Thank you MaryP for sharing that wonderful experience! It sounds to me like you and your daughter should go to Garabandal, or to Medjugorje. You are being called. And you have much to be thankful for. It sounds perhaps like Mary may have stopped you from leaving this world...so you could raise your daughter. No doubt your daughter is a special woman. She should learn more about her heavenly mother. Perhaps if you or your daughter wear or carry a Miraculous medal with you it would bring you much comfort, as it does for me. I gave one to almost every person in our family, and that was before I got caught up in the whole Medjugorje thing! So you are feeling a sense of urgency lately as are many of us. Again, I think maybe you are being called to go to one of these Marian sites. If you cannot go that far right now, maybe you could start with someplace closer to you. There are so many places that are special and holy, where Mary and Jesus are honored. For me, Notre Dame University is one, and now also Our Lady of Good Help in the Green Bay area. Mary is everywhere, as I am sure you already know. And she has held your hand! You are indeed blessed in a special way.
Thanks for the story, Mary, its wonderful. I never knew Our Lady often appears to new mothers, how wonderful. I think these things happen much more often than people realise; its just people don't like to talk about it; but I find if I share myself lots of other people begin to share too. I wonder if the baby has a very special faith journey in front of it?
Mary, how wonderful! I've heard other stories of Mary appearing to nonCatholics as well, so this is not a surprise but I love hearing the stories. They warm my heart. I can just imagine how comforted you felt having her come visit you in that stressful time. I'm so happy you and your daughter are well and now you have such a gift to share with others. Keep telling this story as it brings others closer Mary and to God. Consider the value of the Hail Mary as a prayer- the words come right out of the bible and are so meaningful. I'm so glad you joined us. Pray, pray, pray Kath
MaryP, I love this story and thanks for sharing. Its lovely to think about Our lady's love for all her children. God bless mary
