The UN just made Iran chair of a humanitarian forum. I don’t need to say or cite more about my opinion on the people who comprise that organization. Hammas targeted and vows to continue targeting the Jewish and Israeli civilians even if Israel stops. Every post should also condemn Hammas. (The ruling party in Gaza) They refuse to allow humanitarian aid to their own. They kill indeterminately. On Oct 7 not only Jewish civilians were killed but also Palestinians who were caught in their killing spree . Is there a thread on this forum that I’m missing with equal condemnation of Hammas and other Terrorist organizations like Hezbollah who target civilians? Remember In a war innocence and truth is the first victim. Both sides in a war need prayers and God’s Mercy. That should be the focus. I wish their was a way to block a thread because unread threads stress me out
Thank you for questioning my faith. My point is while everyone attacks Israel where is the condemnation of Hammas and Hezbollah?
I apologise. I see your point. I think, on this forum, that most people posting are so unequivocally opposed to Hamas that they regard it as implicit and that it goes without saying. However, we might have given the wrong impression by not stating it clearly and directly. For my own part, I unequivocally and absolutely condemn Hamas and those who support them. I regard Islam as at least as great a threat to mankind and its salvation as Talmudic (as opposed to Torahistic) Judaism, but Talmudic Judaism is perhaps coming under the spotlight here because it is not as well known as the very obvious threat of Islam and because it is clearly showing itself in the mass-slaughter of mostly non-Hamas Palestinians. We are witnessing a war between two terroristic evils, most of whose victims, on both sides, are not guilty of the evil involved.
This reminds me that anyone who wants to criticize the war in Ukraine must first condemn Putin before they can say anything... Imposition of moral guilt where the person must be in a defensive position before speaking. No one is saying that Hamas and Hezbollah are fine and do not commit crimes. However, do you understand why they were created? Most of the Hamas terrorists are orphaned children killed by Israel. Hezbollah was created in a similar way after the occupation of Israel in 1982, most Christians support Hezbollah in Lebanon currently. One of the main people for the Palestinian resistance was a Christian, and many other Christians from Palestine participated in the resistance against Israel because they were expelled and killed along with the Muslims. In 1946, the Jews bombed the King David Hotel and killed the entire British leadership and over 100 british people. Palestine was then under the British, so according to you, the British were able to defend themselves by attacking Jewish terrorists with tanks and bombs and killing children and women because they still had the right to defend their territory? Should the world have attacked Israel when Jewish terrorists again killed in 1948 the UN representative for resolving the dispute, Folke Bernadotte, who saved over 30,000 people, mostly Jews, from the Nazi camps. They killed him and one of the assassins became the Jewish prime minister... Israel kills mercilessly and Palestinian children are left without parents, brothers and relatives. They see pictures of murdered people around them, they are filled with hatred and then their terrorism is born. Israel kills 10 to 30 times more people for every Jew killed, only the truly civilized ones, and they use superior weapons against people who cannot defend themselves, which is actually an even greater atrocity. George Habash, the founder of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). Habash was one of many Palestinian Christians who would play crucial roles in various pro-Palestinian groups that would use terroristic tactics to send their message. Other Palestinian Christians that joined Palestinian organizations was, Wadi Haddad (PFLP), Nayef Hawatmeh (Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine), and Kamal Nasir (PLO and close advisor to Arafat. Nasir was assassinated in 1973)... Habash was born in Lydda (today's Lod) to a Greek Orthodox Christian Palestinian family in 1926.[7][8] As a child, he sang in the church choir.[9] In 1948, 19-year-old Habash, a medical student at the American University of Beirut, went to his home town of Lydda during the 1948 Arab–Israeli War to help his family. While he was there, the Israel Defense Forces attacked the city and as a result, most of its civilian population was forced to leave in what became known as the Lydda Death March. They marched for three days without food or water until they reached the Arab armies' front lines, which led to his sister's death. Habash and his remaining family became refugees and were not allowed to return home. He later finished his education at the AUB and graduated in 1951.[6] Hatred creates a circle of hate. A boy who was a Christian, sang in a choir and became a doctor was eventually turned into a terrorist seeking revenge because his family was expelled and his sister died in a not inhuman way. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1948_Palestinian_expulsion_from_Lydda_and_Ramle
Netanyahu has three aims, fully supported by the United States, or at least the Biden regime: 1/. The freeing of all hostages. 2/. The destruction of Hamas. 3/. Ensuring that Gaza will never be a threat to Israel again. The first two aims are perfectly acceptable, in principle. The third seems to me a recipe for either killing all Gazans or for completely removing them. Perhaps others here can see a different way of interpreting such an intention, but I can't see it.
This conversation is going nowhere. It's the same old same old playing out humanity and it's lust for living in the box. The only way out is to live in the Kingdom of God and not man. Jesus tried so hard to teach us, pay attention to the Beatitudes. We watch history repeating itself over and over . . .its a huge spiritual battle. I feel so strongly, like Padraig, that soon we will have God's justice upon us. There are so many contradictions and ironies in this war. The best thing we can do is be a good person at our own level, helping, praying, repenting, sacrificing. If enough of us do that, light will overcome the darkness. I apologize for sounding so preachy, but focus on your eternal home and not this one. Jesus wept.
I was listening to a representative of the IDF defending team resumption of the bombing of Gaza on the BBC news this morning. Sometimes it is good to listen to what people are feeling rather than what they are saying. I could tell he was very very uncomfortable for table and troubled about what is going on in Gaza Many, many Jewish people are deeply upset about the bombing of Gaza . I suppose for instance during the Second Workd War when many ordinary Germans detested what the Nazis were doing. Not all Jewish folks think the same about this horror.
Jewish people have a wonderful tradition of supporting the underdog, for instance during the American Civil Rights Movement in the USA many Jewish folks played a heroic role . Pope Pius xii described them as our spiritual grandparents
Palestinians are not a distinct ethnic group, they are Arabs who are racially indistinguishable from Arabs in neighbouring nations. They do not follow a distinct religion, they are a few million of the many millions of Muslims (with a small Christian minority). If Israel were seeking the destruction of all Arabs in general, that would be attempting 'genocide'. Of course, they could never succeed and they do not seek to do so. If it were seeking to kill all Muslims, it couldn't do it and it does not seek to but that would be attempted genocide. Words matter, 'Genocide' isn't an appropriate term in this context. However, Hamas (duly elected by the citizens of Gaza) has, as its openly published manifesto, the aim of the total eradication of Israel and Jews in general (that IS genocide) together with the erection of a WORLDWIDE Islamic Caliphate in which only Islam may be practiced. If you vote for a government that seeks the total destruction of another people, don't be surprised if that people take you seriously and respond furiously when those you voted for behead and burn babies to death and kidnap them along with raping and kidnapping adults including the elderly and infirm. If I could have predicted the response, you can bet that Hamas also knew but they did it anyway.
War is a tool of Satan which creates hatred and justifies any action, including those by the victors. Fallen human nature doesn't change. And today, satan raises up new means of mass desruction: abortion! https://www.google.com/search?clien...here+anything+too+hard+for+me#fpstate=ive&vld I grieve.
Interestingly, I created the above link which factually described, including films, the indiscriminate Allied bombings of German cities in WWII with the loss of hundreds of thousands of German civilians. As one can see above, the link was inactivated. I love my country, but have realized over the last few decades that human nature does not change apart from the grace of God. Hatred and revenge blind the soul and leads to the justification of virtually anything. I would bet if you copy the link and view it on your own computer/phone you would get one chance to agree. Lord have Mercy!
There are many Anti-Zionist Jews persecuted by the Zionists: "This video shows Anti Zionist Orthodox Jews being arrested by Israeli police on the Jewish Sabbath after peacefully demonstrating. If one talks to Armenian, Lebanese, Palestinian and Middle Eastern Christians, one will see some Israeli Extremists (Talmudic Jews, mostly) hate Christians even more than they hate Muslims. But "he who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has Eternal Life in him" (1 Jn 3:15) "Israeli settlers vandalize Christian graves in Jerusalem. They can be seen smashing crosses They hate Christians even more than they hate Muslims" https://twitter.com/DrLoupis/status/1730449745145938366
It’s division and confusion. I pray for all of Israel. This is a no win situation for all the people that live there. It’s tragic. Please pray for the Franciscans who do take care of so many Christians there. Their Foundation needs money. Father Vasco who is an American priest has been doing a phenomenal job in keeping the peace. He is loved by everyone. May God protect him.
Many of us criticized the CDC and Covid Tyranny. Yet, do the research and you will see how many Zionists there are at the CDC pushing Covid Tyranny. Zionists are enemies of Christendom and Humanity. They would crush Christians under their feet if they could. Read Rev 2:9, 3:9 on Synagogue of Satan. "In undisclosed call, Pope Francis warned Israel against committing ‘terror’ It is “forbidden to respond to terror with terror,” Francis said, according to a senior Israeli official familiar with the call, which has not been previously reported. Herzog protested, repeating the position that the Israeli government was doing what was needed in Gaza to defend its own people. The pope continued, saying those responsible should indeed be held accountable, but not civilians." https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/worl...-israel-against-committing-terror/ar-AA1kLWvp Like Pope St. John Paul II condemned the Iraq War at a time when almost no one wanted to hear it, yet was almost universally acknowledged to be right some 5 years later, Pope Francis is right on this one, as anyone who applies Just War Moral Principles will see. This War is not at all a Just War.
