It’s the ordinary everyday people who are suffering, and that has probably happened in every conflict since Old Testament days.
    Good post.

Let's analyse this. Spadaro takes it upon himself, according to Edward Pentin, a very reliable source, to severely criticise Jesus Christ.

There seem to me two possible scenarios in which this can be done:

1). Spadaro regards Jesus Christ as a man, but not as Divine. All men are fallible and therefore open to the possibility of requiring criticism. If this is the case, it implies that Spadaro is, at best, an Aryan or not a Christian at all or perhaps even an atheist.

2). Spadaro regards Christ as Divine, but still Spadaro thinks he knows better than the omniscient Being who created him and the rest of creation out of nothing and did so not out of necessity but out of sheer Gift. The kind of pride required to think he can criticise God is positively luciferian, unless the man is completely insane.

These are the kind of people with whom Pope Francis chooses to associate. It is a wise old saying that one can judge a man by his friends.

Martin either does not consider Christ as Divine, a Divine Person with a Divine and a human nature or he does not understand the concept of omniscience. He Who is God has not to learn from anybody. It is for humanity, no matter how wise, to learn from Him. Martin is certainly not to be categorised as wise and has very much to learn, if he is so prepared.

I recently read a book of essays from another Jesuit, the recently deceased Father Schall. Surprisingly in this era, Father Schall was a perfectly devout, orthodox priest. His explanation for those who tended towards liberal stances on morality (and Spadaro's and Martin's tendencies are radically wild) is that they wish to adopt a set of beliefs that do not present a difficult challenge to their behaviour and one coming from outside. So, they tend to stress subjectivity, rather than awkward objective truths. Father Schall considers this as the reason for the hatred of this faction for those they consider backwardist and rigid, because the latter disturb the little worm in their conscience that they try to suppress from nagging at their moral rebellion.

Maryrose, sorry if I upset you. We are only painting in broad brush-strokes and in generalities. Certainly, what we are saying does not apply to all Jews, probably only an elite minority of them. I, for one, don't think the Jews are any more wicked than anyone else. However, God chose them as His people and in doing so granted them more intellectual gifts than any other. Their brilliance can make those of them who are wicked more dangerous. The Jews seem increasingly to be positioned at the centre of history, which also has a parallel scriptural aspect. It is not inconceivable that we are getting nearer to the time of their conversion.

God does not change His mind. His Covenant with the Jews still stands. They just have to accept it.

I believe that the case of Israel is similar to that of Paul, who was an implacable enemy of the Church, but God endured him with patience because he had a greater purpose predestined for him.

The fullness of faith comes from the Catholic Church and Christians, but that does not mean that we have to be passive when Christians or the Catholic Church do bad things.
That's when we have to persist in pointing out the bad in order to eradicate it.

Jews are not exempt from gospel responsibility as proclaimed by Christ.
Precisely because they have knowledge of God, even in the Old testament, it gives them even greater responsibility to do good compared to those religions that did not know God in that form.

Christians suffer from their foundation, but that does not give us the right to do bad things because someone has done bad things to us... It is the opposite of Christ's teaching, in the end God cannot bless sin in any form because we are subject to his law, and not him to ours.

In the end, the first Christians were Jews and the first persecutors of Christians were Jews.

Only the first ones stopped being Jews because they found fullness in Christ. Others have gone the other way and with regard to political, media and financial power they are waging war against Western Christian civilization and God. This can and must be pointed out, but that does not mean that we do not wish them well. I wish them all to find fullness in Christ, what was promised to them first because then they will find their peace and that revolutionary spirit will disappear.

Until that moment, I'm afraid that their mission is world communism where they led revolutions from Hungary to Russia and where today they promote similar ideas, at least the part that is extremely powerful in Western countries...

From the bottom of my heart, I wish them conversion as soon as possible and to know Christ. In the end, as Catholics, we should pray for this, not only for Jews, but for all peoples and religions to find the real and true Creator.

Jerusalem Post article: "Was the Russian Revolution Jewish?
A hundred years after the Bolsheviks swept to power, historians and contemporaries still struggle to understand the prominent role played by Jews.
A BOLSHEVIK poster from 1920 shows Lenin sweeping away monarchs, clergy and capitalists. The Russian translates as ‘Lenin cleans the dirt from the Earth. ..

Some observers saw Lenin and his band as a motley group of Jewish revolutionaries. Alexander Guchkov, the Russian minister of war in the Russian Provisional Government after Tsar Nicholas II abdicated in March 1917, told the British military attaché General Alfred Knox that “the extreme element consists of Jews and imbeciles.” Lenin’s train had included 19 members of his Bolshevik party, several of his allies among the Mensheviks and six Jewish members of the Jewish Labor Bund. Almost half the passengers on the train were Jewish."

    https://www.jpost.com/magazine/was-the-russian-revolution-jewish-514323

Historians will keep struggling to understand it until they read the Talmud and get red-pilled for themselves. It's not about race. It's not about religion per se, but extremist ideology plays a part. It's about the deep Anti-Christian hatred that permeates the Talmud.

Of course, many Jews practice Torah based Judaism, which is much more moderate and reasonable. A minority practices Talmudic Judaism. As Churchill said at the time, and adapting it to our current circumstances, we should promote moderate Jewish voices like that Jewish Voice for Peace group I mentioned, which calls for Peace in Israel-Palestine, groups based on Torah Judaism and love of neighbor etc. But at the same time, we owe it to our Martyred Christian Brethren in Russia to know an ideology of Anti-Christian hate Martyred them.

"According to some sources, the total number of Christian victims under the Soviet regime has been estimated to range around 12 to 20 million.[139][140] At least 106,300 Russian clergymen were executed between 1937 and 1941.[141]"

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persecution_of_Christians_in_the_Soviet_Union

Look how flippantly, almost as a footnote, they point out some 20 MN Christians and 100,000+ Clergy were brutally murdered under Communism. It's probably much higer, Solzhenitsyn estimates it at 60 MN, but let's go with at least 20 MN. 20 MN is not nothing. Both Atheists and Talmudic Jews are and were responsible for this heinous massacre. While we Love our Enemies, as taught by Jesus Christ, and desire their conversion, we can't be blind to what's going on in the world imo. We have to work earnestly and urgently for their conversion, along with spreading awareness of what they did. That's the best solution imo, and St. Maximillian Maria Kolbe, who often spoke of this aspect of Zionism, also taught us the same. Pray and work for their conversion. And who knows, it may be awareness that they took a leading role in persecuting Russian Christians at a time when they enjoyed almost full freedom in all Christian Countries that brings them to contrition and conversion. The Truth must be preached and made known at all costs. And the Truth will set them free at last.

Jewish Site Ynetnews frankly and rightly looks back at this history, well known to scholars of the Communist Revolution:

    "Stalin's Jews
We mustn't forget that some of greatest murderers of modern times were Jewish

And us, the Jews? An Israeli student finishes high school without ever hearing the name "Genrikh Yagoda," the greatest Jewish murderer of the 20th Century, the GPU's deputy commander and the founder and commander of the NKVD. Yagoda diligently implemented Stalin's collectivization orders and is responsible for the deaths of at least 10 million people ...

Many Jews sold their soul to the devil of the Communist revolution and have blood on their hands for eternity."

https://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3342999,00.html This is about actions, not about race. It's also about an evil extremist Talmudic Ideology, which the whole world is now seeing play out before our eyes and which many are still struggling to understand. The history helps us understand better. Talmudism is evil and wretched and wrong and we must work tirelessly to pray for their conversion and end it in its various forms once and for all.

Yes, it is true. I posted previously a link to an article about it. That article seemed to be from a pro Palestinian source so I wasn't certain as to its accuracy. I read a comment on youtube today which included a reference to a UN report about the oil and gas reserves in Palestine. I found the UN report, dated 28 August 2019. Here's a link to the report: https://unctad.org/news/unrealized-potential-palestinian-oil-and-gas-reserves

Did anyone read the news articles where a billionaire high up Hammas leader admits they don’t give a flip about those living in Gaza or if they eat drink or anything - they do not care to rule Gaza - their goal is the irradiation of all Jews. How anyone can support them or their goals is ridiculous. The US went to war for years over less deaths percentage wise than what Hammas did in one day. I don’t recall anyone telling the US to cease fire and there weren’t even hostages involved. Why did the US go into Deset storm? I’m sure some Iraqi civilians died there too. I don’t recall massive protests over it. Face it people are fallen. The Catholic Church recognizes the right for a nation to defend itself. If a groups goal is the irradiation of a group of people. Then the country has the right to defend and protect their civilians even if that means going to the source to remove the evil. And personally I think anyone who supports Hammas needs to soul search.

Pope St. John Paul II opposed the Iraq War.

Afghanistan was another matter, because targeted strikes on Al Qaeda would be in conformity with Just War Doctrine, just like targeted strikes on Hamas. The issue is, targeted strikes are not happening. As documented in the OP:

"Israel has already dropped more bombs on Gaza in six days than the U.S. dropped on Afghanistan in a single year. Now, the Israeli military is ordering over one million Palestinian civilians to flee their homes. This is genocide and ethnic cleansing ...

In six days, Israel has dropped 6,000 bombs on the besieged coastal enclave, which is home to 2.3 million Palestinians. Half of them are children. This falls just short of the highest number of bombs dropped by the US in a year in the war on Afghanistan. "

So 365 days vs 6 days, already 60 times.
Next, Gaza is vastly smaller than Afghanistan.
Almost 2000 times smaller. So put it together.
    60*2000=120,000~100,000 times worse.
So it is clear that this violates Just War.

    Here's a Cardinal say so:

"Cardinal Pizzaballa stated the same day in his letter: “This new cycle of violence has brought to Gaza over [then] five thousand deaths [now over 10,000, 40% of them children], including many women and children, tens of thousands of wounded, neighborhoods razed to the ground, lack of medicine, lack of water and of basic necessities for over two million people. These are tragedies that cannot be understood and which we have a duty to denounce and condemn unreservedly. The continuous heavy bombardment that has been pounding Gaza for days will only cause more death and destruction and will only increase hatred and resentment. It will not solve any problem, but rather create new ones.”

    https://www.ncregister.com/commenta...y-as-catholics-to-the-crisis-in-the-holy-land

article concludes: "In the fog of war, the light of the Gospel is needed more than ever. It’s time for Catholics, at every level, to give it and to live it."

It is true what you say about Hamas. However, is there not a distinction in the theology of war between offensives that happen to feature the killing of civilians as unintended 'collateral damage', and those that deliberately feature the targeting of civilans as its primary tactic? It is predominantly the most vulnerable who are being killed in these attacks. The Israelis are surely not unaware of this, yet they persist, even in the face of calls from Blinken, the representative of their only staunch ally (as demonstrated by that UN truce vote) to consider a pause.

I honestly do not believe that someone can support what Israel is doing and call themselves a Christian and from a human point of view consider it right.
Currently, over 10,600 people have been killed in Gaza alone, half of whom are children, over 2,500 are women, and the rest are men, most of whom are ordinary civilians. More than 3,000 people are still missing.
And over 25,000 were injured, of which again a large number were children.
Of course they are all terrorists because who determines who is a terrorist but the person who kills.

This is the slaughter and massacre of Palestinians, nothing else.

Weren't some of the first apostles "terrorists"? They wanted to get rid of the Romans by force. The entire Jewish community wanted the same thing, some of them carried out "terrorist" attacks through murders, attacks on Roman officials and similar things... Everyone was waiting for the Messiah who would lead them to liberation through military means.
Why ? Because they were oppressed on their land, because the Romans dictated their lives and could kill them when they wanted, they had to pay taxes to them, obey their orders. Even Jesus was attacked for hanging out with the Romans.

Palestinians in Gaza live like animals in a cage. Israel dictates their food, water, electricity, medicine and practically in other parts like in the West Bank people have to have passports and permission to go from one part of Palestine to another. They rob their houses, beat them and kill them whenever they want..An American Jew who has never set foot on the soil of the Middle East can come into the country and move freely while the Palestinians who were born cannot. Is it just and according to God's rules? Jews born all over the world are free to come and drive them out of their homes even though the Palestinians have been living there for centuries on their own land...

This is similar to what the communists did when they killed. One of the main leaders said that it is easiest to kill, but first that person must be demonized, reduced to the level of an animal, because then it is easy to kill because you fill the person who kills with hatred, and you tell him that he is doing it for goodness and justice.

Hamas attacked. Hamas is Palestinian therefore every Palestinian is a terrorist and must die. That's the logic.
If you object to the killing of children, women and civilians, then you support Hamas.
Anyone who disagrees with that supports terrorism and is not of God...

Only, this is a slippery slope. As far as I know, the FBI marks certain Catholic parents in your country as terrorists who defend their children from LGBT ideology. Make sure that once the "defense of American democracy" is not directed against you and that the murders of "Catholic terrorists" or imprisonments are justified by the fight against terrorism in the name of democracy and freedom.

    By the way
