I don't believe it was ever the will of God that the state that calls itself, 'Israel', would ever be established in the Holy Land. If we wish to know why we should simply recall that the Jews did and continue to reject Jesus as the Messiah and called His blood down upon their heads and this came about with the Fall of Israel, Jerusalem and the Temple to the Romans and their Diaspora (dispersal) to the four corners of the Earth. Nor do they accept the Messiah now. Only upon their acceptance of Jesus will they be permitted to return to the Land of Jesus.

A sure Sign of the displeasure of the Most High High God to the state that terms itself , 'Israel', is that every step of its history has been marked in a sea of blood and every step it takes into its future will also be so marked.

It is an abheration and due for extinction until the time of the Conversion and repentance of the Jewish people. Only then will they receive God's Blessings.

Not a minute or a second before.

    Matthew 27:25

25 All the people answered, “His blood is on us and on our children!”

This is such a crucial point.

What the Jews have experienced may have had political, economic, sociological implications but it’s mainly a spiritual question I believe.

When we disregard the spiritual we fail to comprehend the question in its full significance.

Of course no one in his right mind would condone the way they were often treated throughout history but actions have consequences.

Some historians claim the Romans not the Jews killed Our Lord but in fact the Romans as a rule never got involved in a country’s religious struggles and beliefs.

They certainly never saw Jesus as a threat to Roman authority. In all likelihood Rome didn’t even know about Jesus existence and never even paid much attention to what went on in faraway Judaea.

It was the Sanhedrin who demanded his execution, which is clearly illustrated in the video above and the passage below.

When the Sanhedrin brought Jesus before the Roman governor, Pontius Pilate, Pilate could not find any fault in Jesus, and he said so three times (Luke 23:4, 14–15, 22). Late in the trial, Pilate sought a way to free Jesus (John 19:12). It was a Passover festival custom that the governor release a prisoner to the people, so, in a ploy to appease the crowd of Jewish leaders who had gathered and to secure Jesus’ release, Pilate allowed them to choose between a convicted criminal named Barabbas and Jesus. Instead of choosing Jesus, as Pilate had hoped, the crowd chose Barabbas for release. Shocked that they would free a hardened criminal, Pilate asked, “What shall I do, then, with the one you call the king of the Jews?” (Mark 15:12). The crowd cried out, “Crucify him!” (verse 13).

As an aside, Pilates heroic, holy wife Claudia Procula, a Roman, also interceded on Jesus behalf. Tradition has it that after the crucifixion she left Judea and went back to Rome where she converted to Christianity.

    GIVE US BARABBAS.

    Yes .

Actually it is just the same with the Catholic Church. It's religious leadership led by the Pope who represents the High Priest is also in the process of rejecting Christ so our Church will be destroyed with much of the World as were the Jews.

    Actions do indeed have consequences.

But Islam was just as aggressive in the times of Pope Pius X as it is today. Islam was founded and continues through violence. But two wrongs do not make a right. The violence of Islam does not make the violence of Zionism right. Or vice versa.
    Islam was always violent.

The circumstances weren't really so very different. At the time that Herzl sought the Pope's support there were pogroms against Jews in Tzarist Russia. Catholics were also persecuted there, just as Catholics are now being persecuted in various countries. According to Wikipedia (and I can't find anything to indicate to the contrary) Herzl suggested to the Pope that persecuted Russian Catholics could be given refuge by the Jews if they were granted a Jewish homeland in Palestine. Modern weaponry makes the violence more lethal and modern technology enables us be aware of it, but the fundamental problem of hatred of fellow human beings, often stirred up by people whose own safety is never at risk, remains the same.

Would Pope Pius X agree with the Church's current position of supporting a two State solution? Probably yes, but I don't believe that he would hesitate to call for the conversion of both Jews and Muslims. Jesus told us to go forth and baptise all nations. Not an easy task now any more than it was in Apostolic times. It must be especially difficult to evangelise Muslims and people of non-Abrahamic faiths now when all of Christianity is being lumped in with Protestant fundamentalists. In other parts of the world, atheists are using these conflicts to copper fasten their claim that religion is the cause of most wars. I don't doubt for a minute that Biden would have been long since excommunicated by Pius X for his promotion of abortion and other issues contrary to natural law. If nothing is done about him and his posturing as a faithful Catholics, future Catholics will be tasked with explaining how not every person baptised in the Church is faithful, just as today's Catholics have to explain away the fact that Hitler was a fallen away Catholic.

The situation at that time was far worse as far as Islam was concerned for Europe. I am from Croatia, as you can see on the map, we were the border with the Turks (Ottoman Empire) for almost 5 centuries, our country was also often partially occupied and we received recognition from several popes for the defense of Christianity. About 4 million of us died, almost double the population at that time. We even killed Sulejman the Magnificent in the defense of Siget, and the shrine of the Mother of God of Sinj is known here when the city of Sinj was besieged by the Turks and about to fall. Everyone prayed the rosary, including the soldiers, Our Lady appeared and the Turks started running away in panic, throwing themselves into the water... Since then, the Sinj alka is held every year in honor, a game with a horse and a spear in which several men from Sinj compete and are carried Our Lady's image in a procession with over 100,000 people, and there are several such shrines in the entire country, and it is the national holiday of the Assumption.

I apologize for typing a little too much, but as you can see on the map. Croatia is the border, Dalmatia is our region, then it was under the Italians (certain parts), Bosnia was under the Turks where Croats lived (the western part where Medjugorje is and the central part), the central part is Muslim (Bosniaks, former Croats who switched to Islam) and the eastern part where the Serbs are Orthodox).

Since the Vatican was a political state at that time, the popes were very much in conflict with the Ottomans, especially in our territories.

Italy is across the street and almost all the popes for centuries were Italians, so Pope Pius X knew very well the situation with the Turks and Islam.

I'm sure you're very grateful to our Holy Father Pope Francis for condemning what is happening in Gaza in very forceful terms, Joe.

    P.S
If your journey takes you to Europe in those days, come to Croatia, I think you will enjoy...

We are a traditional country, conservative in terms of religion, you have a beautiful sea and some of the most beautiful cities in the world from Split, Dubrovnik, Zadar, Šibenik, all close to Sinj with a lot of history from the Roman Empire, and centuries to the present day. A bunch of historical churches, and let's say Diocletian's palace and his grave, which was the biggest persecutor of Christians, has been turned into the smallest cathedral in the world....

Here is a picture, a small advertisement ;), but I say you will enjoy it and we are a very safe country where you can walk across the country in the middle of the night without fear. You could leave the car unlocked and similar things...

If you come to the main squares on the first Saturday of the month (this is the capital city of Zagreb), then you will come across the prayer of the rosary of men praying for

    1. For the homeland, peace and conversion of the Croatian people
    2. For men - to become spiritual authorities in the family who will bravely witness and transmit the Catholic faith
    3. For living in premarital chastity, for chastity in dress and behavior and for the renewal of Catholic marriages
    4. For the end of abortion and the openness of married couples to life
    5. For authentic and uncompromising church pastors and new spiritual vocations
    6. For souls in purgatory
    7. For personal purposes

You can certainly join, there are hundreds of men and there are more and more of us despite the protests of the leftists... We are expanding to other countries like Poland. I hope we will see this soon in the USA and Ireland and other countries.

Sorry to disturb the thread, but I had to share. Let the moderator switch to a more appropriate topic if necessary.

Very interesting. I love to learn about different countries. I had a brief visit to Dubrovnik a few years ago. We were on a cruise and that was one of the stops. I would have loved more time there because Dubrovnik looked like a perfectly preserved walled city. I don't do much travelling now but if I did, a longer visit to Croatia would be high on the list.

Thank you for this background. My maternal grandmother was Romanian and she had devotion to Our Lady under her title of Our Lady of Bistrica. One of the oratories in the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC is dedicated to her.
