Bit of a stretch, Padraig. None of the three of them is claiming to be able to fix the world's problems. Two of them are doing what they think is best for the countries they lead and it's anyone's guess what is the Pope's agenda but he doesn't fit the AC profile. In fact, none of them does. Soros is too old.

I agree. It's probably good to be cautious either way anyway, just in case. He seems to be doing a good job so far though with abortion and shaking up the liberals, so he can't be too bad.

I feel the same. By their fruits... Trump puts a smile on my face every day with his take no prisoners attitude. He is impervious to criticism.

If trump were diabolically possessed, I don't think that he would surround himself with Pence for a VP, and all the conservatives he picked for his cabinet. I am expecting a very conservative pick for the supreme court too. And to stop funding for abortions overseas...wow is all I can say. He is no angel, but I believe he is listening to the Holy Spirit. God chooses the unlikeliest of workers to achieve his will.

Those suggesting Trump is the Antichrist clearly do not have an understanding of either Sacred Scripture or Tradition on this matter. If anyone came closest to meeting the requirements of the Antichrist in recent memory, it was Barack Obama and even he failed to fulfill certain requirements of the Antichrist.

Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition in fact tell us how we will know when the final, endtime Antichrist has arrived: his arrival will be countered by the arrival of the Two Witnesses, Enoch and Elijah:

"And when the Son of Perdition has drawn to his purpose the whole world, Enoch and Elijah shall be sent that they might confute the Evil One." - St. Ephraem

"It is a familiar theme in the conversation and heart of the faithful, that in the last days before the Judgment the Jews shall believe in the true Christ, that is, our Christ, by means of this great and admirable prophet Elijah, who shall expound the Law to them. For not without reason do we hope that before the coming of our Judge and Saviour, Elijah shall come, because we have good reason to believe that he is now alive. For, as Scripture most distinctly informs us, he was taken up from this life in a chariot of fire. When, therefore, he is come, he will give a spiritual explanation of the Law which the Jews at present understand carnally, and shall thus, "turn the heart of the father to the son", that is, the heart of the fathers to the children. And the meaning is that the sons, that is, the Jews, shall understand the Law as the fathers, that is, the prophets, and among them Moses himself, understood it...that the Jews also, who had previously hated, should then love the Son who is our Christ." - St. Augustine

"And Enoch and Elijah the Thesbite will be sent and they shall 'turn the heart of the fathers to the children', that is to say, turn the Synagogue to our Lord Jesus Christ and the preaching of the Apostles. And they will be destroyed by the Antichrist." - St. John Damascene

"The third demonstration arises from the coming of Enoch and Elijah, who live even now and shall live until they come to oppose Antichrist himself, and to preserve the elect in the faith of Christ, and in the end shall convert the Jews, and it is certain that this has not yet been fulfilled." - St. Robert Bellarmine

"The disciples of the Apostles say that they (Enoch and Elijah) whose living bodies were taken up from the earth, have been placed in an earthly paradise, where they will remain until the end of the world." - St. Irenaeus

"Elijah has not evaded death, but put it off. He was raised into this (aerial) Heaven, in order that he might suddenly be conveyed to some secret region of the earth, where he might live in great repose of the spirit and the flesh, until he shall return at the end of the world to pay the debt of death." - Pope St. Gregory the Great

"Ejijah was raised into the aerial, not the empyrean heaven, which is the abode of the Saints, and in like manner Enoch was carried away to a terrestrial paradise, where he and Elijah, it is believed, will live together until the coming of the Antichrist." - St. Thomas Aquinas

I don't for a moment think Trump is the anti Christ. I do however think he is totally evil. he exhibits a classic Narcissitic personality ; which is just another way of saying the devil is pulling his strings.

Nor do I think he is in anyway , 'Mentally ill', as he fully functional. It is just pure evil and the head shrinkers have to find some kind of box to put this in.

Trump is far from being a saint, Padraig, but he can't be any worse than Obama or Bush and he's a whole lot better than Hillary Clinton.

At least he has some Christians in his administration - some of them are actually practising Catholics not of the Biden and Pelosi variety of Catholic. And he's no idiot. He knows that a good manager surrounds himself with competent people and that's what he is doing. His super-ego could be an advantage in that he will want to be remembered as a good President so he will listen to his advisers. The Americans have every right to control their borders and decide who should be allowed into their country. And if it takes a temporary ban on immigrants until they put in place a satisfactory system, that's also their right. Much is made about nobody from any of the listed countries having committed a terrorist act in the US, but we don't know how many potential attacks were foiled or what US intelligence agencies are warning him about. Those demonstrations in Europe are ridiculous.

I don't like the way Trump boasts about how successful he is and how much money he has, and he certainly has a chequered past. It would have been nice to see a good, wholesome, honest, squeaky clean person in the White House for a change but that kind of person wouldn't have a hope of surviving in the cut throat world of politics never mind winning a party nomination. Better, then, to have a flawed Trump than yet another charlatan like Obama or evil personified Clinton. Just looking at the people opposing Trump is enough for me to tolerate his shortcomings.

God can use anyone to obtain His purpose, and at least He has someone in the White House who is putting all the right people in place to make this country pro-life again. It is for the others who do not support him and his policies that we should pray for as the only reason they do not support him is their anti-life, anti-marriage stance. They are so lost. You need only to look at the videos and photos of their ungodly march to see this. We need to support our new President. He is not perfect, but who is? The one who has not sinned, throw the first stone! God bless all.

Please I need prayers. My son has overdosed on illicit drugs. I am at a Florida hospital and scared he may not come out of this horror. I am in the midst of my own chastisement. Our drug culture in this nation is killing our kids. We need help as parents. May God answer our prayers.

Padraig, I can't remember a recent time when so many holy and traditional prayers were offered at an inauguration, and it has been mentioned that Mr. Trump has been converted within the past year, in the Protestant sense of receiving Christ as his Savior. I read this recently. So we need to consider that God has built the foundation for this Presidency. The prayers at inauguration were prayed in the name of Jesus. They were not humanistic prayers. I was dancing a jig every time I heard "in Jesus' name, we pray."

Obama during his first election was the first president to not to go to the traditional prayer breakfast after his election. Trump has mentioned God more in 10 days then his predecessor has in 8 years.

I think Trump understands the danger he is in. So, I think he picked a staunch Catholic in case he gets called by God. It might be his get out of hell card. He can say at least I tried to leave you in charge of the presidency. I tried my best to stop evil.

    :)

None of us are saints. Including Trump. But to suggest that Trump is pure evil is rather weird. I prayed for Trump and this election like nothing I have ever prayed for before. Countless Catholics were joined in prayer for him. Judging by the resistance he is facing from every corner of the Culture of Death in America and across the Globe, I'd say our prayers were successful. Trump is also in very good hands with Catholics like Kellyanne Conway and Sean Spicer advising him. Trump reminds me of JFK and Reagan in that neither were saints, but both loved their country and worked very hard to put America First.

Byron, so very sorry. My plan for awful situations: holy water, rosary, scapular, and Miraculous Medal. Call in the big guns and ask for a priest. All of which I'm sure you've done. God bless you and your family.

Trump is not evil. Padraig,am I correct in assuming that you don't live in the US? If you don't live the politics here day to day, it's difficult to see the stark contrast before and after Trump's election. American and Christian values are now being given a strong voice through Trump and his staff; before they were used to berate us as a bunch of discriminatory bigots.

To be an effective president, Trump has to be a strong, independent man whose beholden to no one. Republican politicians constantly kow tow and try to appease Democrat bullying. For years they did nothing to stem the tide of the globalist, atheistic liberal agenda that Democrats vociferously promote. Sadly, even the Republicans were threatened by Trump challenging the status quo. It all seemed rather hopeless until this election. Through Trump, I believe that God is giving our country a fighting chance. God knew we need a fighter to battle the powerful forces of evil in our world.
Every day I thank God for President Trump, Vice President Pence, and their administration.
