Even more motivation to become a Saint - then maybe I'll be able to bi-locate! Will be with you in spirit -
I can't get to Knock, so am with you in spirit! I will be praying the prayer here at home, hopefully in union with all other forum members who can't make it there. Sean
I think this is the prayer of consecration Prayer for the Act of Consecration Most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God and Refuge of Sinners, we entrust and consecrate ourselves, our family, our home and our Dioceses to Jesus through your Immaculate Heart. As your children, we promise to follow your example in our lives by doing at all times the will of God. O Mary, Spouse of the Holy Spirit, we renew today the promises of our Baptism and Confirmation. Intercede for us with the Holy Spirit that we may be always faithful to your Divine Son, to his Mystical Body, the Catholic Church, and to the teachings of his Vicar on earth, our Holy Father the Pope. Immaculate Heart of Mary, our Queen and our Mother, we promise to uphold the sanctity of marriage and the welfare of the family. Watch over our minds and hearts and preserve our youth from dangers to the faith and the many temptations that threaten them in the world today. We ask you, Mary our Advocate to intercede with your divine Son. Obtain for our country the grace to uphold the uniqueness of every human life, from the first moment of conception to natural death. O Blessed Mother, Our Life, our Sweetness and Our Hope, we wish that this Consecration be for the great glory of God and that it lead us safely to Jesus your Son. A Naomh-Mhuire, a Mháthair Dé, guigh orainn na peacaigh, anois agus ar uair ár mbáis. Amen.
I managed to get a half day from work and ended up in Knock, i'm glad I did. I didn't get there in time to meet other forum members but got the Mass and consecration in the basilica. It was a great mass and the consecration cermony was very powerful preceeded by a rosary. Ireland was properly consecrated with the word Ireland clearly mentioned in the consecration prayer, that is what I heard anyway. Thanks God I was able to make it in the end. I' prayed for forum members and Conchita's husband Patrick in Knock today also.
Sorry we missed you Indy, but glad to hear you made it. I met Bordercollie and Grimisocks and discovered I'd first met bordercolline in Medjugorje many years ago - it's a small world!
I was there also and met with BC late in the day. My friend got some amazing photos on her phone. When the consecration prayer was being recited the hands on our lady's statue which stood at the front of the altar were glowing with a white light. There were some other phenomena also in the photos she snapped at that time. The consecration was amazing. We will probably see a lot of upheaval for a time now as the battle intensifies. I was at an earlier Mass at the shrine celebrated b y Fr Ross. I didnt quite catch everything he said but he was talking about the repentance offered in recent times by the priests and hierarchy for the sins of the people. It is scriptural based in that God said in the OT if the people repent I will bless the land. The priests have been repenting on behalf of the people through special masses of repentance and vigils. There were bishops there from allover Ireland taking part in the consecration. The deal will be sealed when Pope Francis completes the consecration of the world in October. We live in interesting times. Keep the faith. Mary
View attachment 1290 John (Border Collie), Mary (Miriam) & Francis (Grimisocks) in St Johns hall, Knock at lunchtime yesterday. Lovely meeting you...
I'm eager to hear the news. Are any of you back home as of yet? Oh there you are! Great to see you three together! Must have been a chilly day! Safe in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary!
I have to say the mass by Archbishop Eamon Martin was brilliant. He gave a powerful sermon centered around Our Lady and gave great praise to many in society but particularly Women and the great work they have done and continue to do. It was uplifting. He asked us all to heed Gods call and that it could be a strong and definite one now after this consecration. He mentioned DeMontfort and many references about Jesus through Mary. He asked us all to keep saying the Rosary, it was all round goodness. I am very impressed by Eamon Martin, he is also a strong advocate of being harsh on politicans who support abortion. I am sorry I didn't make the group picture on time, I would have only brought the standard down. There was a great crowd in Knock on the day I heard 15,000, it could have taken more maybe but that was a very devout 15,000. Lots of Rosary beeds and prayer. God Bless all.
Indy, indeed it was a terrific homily and sermon. It's a pity we missed you, and you would certainly not have brought the standard down, I'm certainly not photogenic! LOL! Link to homily! http://www.catholicbishops.ie/2013/...s-consecration-ireland-immaculate-heart-mary/
Hers is some good footage of the consecration cermony Here is an excerpt from an email I just received from someone at www.SCNCI.org, I emailed them asking about getting Ireland included in the Consecration prayer. I received a lovely email back today. According to a report coming back to us that originated with Cardinal Brady's comments to the Carmelites at Knock Shrine on the following day, a Church official at the Vatican contacted him just before the event to request "the island of Ireland" be inserted into the official prayer as the object of the consecration and entrustment. .... .... We can only thank Our blessed Lady for this 11th hour intervention and God's great providence for supplying for such a small but incredibly significant detail. Wow, Wow,
Apparently not too harsh, unfortunately. The Tablet 19/8/2013 Catholic politicians who supported the legalisation of abortion will not be excommunicated or refused communion, the future Primate of all Ireland has indicated. Speaking on BBC Radio Ulster's Sunday Sequence programme, Eamon Martin, presently coadjutor Archbishop of Armagh, said he had never refused Communion to anyone, but reiterated the Church's position that it is not possible to be a person of faith and actively promote abortion. Archbishop Martin said every individual who voted in favour of the Protection of Life During Pregnancy Act - which allows terminations where there is a threat to the mother's life - should question whether they had actively promoted the killing of the unborn. However, he said he did not believe that "the altar rails are the place to be making a public statement," on the issue.
I believe in Ireland we are seeing some fruits from the consecration of Ireland to the Immaculate heart of Mary. On Friday last we were asked to vote for the abolition of our Seanad. Irish equivalent of U.S. Upper House or Senate. In the past the Irish people have pretty much always agreed with the requests of our Government on such referendums and changes to the constitution, well those we have at least been asked to participate in unlike abortion. This time finally the Irish people said no, the no vote won by 51 %. I believe this to be related to the consecration of Ireland and the power we are being given to fight against Satan. In the recent past we have been asked to give more control to the EU we voted yes, asked to allow the state to pretty much be legal guardians of our children we said yes. This vote asked us to remove a layer of democracy from the people and in effect give more power to the current government or a future one. I believe we have received help from the consecration in finally saying NO. http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/oct/03/irish-voters-seanad-abolition-parliament
Very true Krizevac, they made us vote a second time on the Lisbon treaty, which played a large part in removing our sovereignty. They were very insistent on passing that one alright. I pray that more and more people are gifted with the spirit of truth and are seeing through the lies and deceit.
