For those who may not know, Geralyn and I began to homeschool our crew when Benjamin, our oldest was in 6th grade. After that point, apart from Benjamin and Patrick, who eventually went to a minor seminary, our children graduated from "high school" as home-schoolers. It is a difficult task, virtually impossible if a Mom and Dad both work full-time jobs. Belonging to a Catholic home-schooling group provides wonderful support which we didn't have once we moved north to rural Oswego County in New York State. It is important to join HSLDA (a legal defense group). Twice the school district attempted to butt into our lives though we were fulfilling reporting requirements, but when HSLDA sent notifications to them, the school district backed off. After high school, our children went on to college and all of them got their various degrees. It is a demanding task, but the public education environment has continued to deteriorate, so... O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
I admire parents who home school so much. It must take huge Sacrifice. I think one of the things the Church needs most is the rebirth of Catholic Teaching Orders.
I have friends who have done this. Five children successfully educated at home and all thriving successful adults.
So quickly did the North capitulate! Lord, how can this be! Woe to the perpetrators of this horrific crime! O Lord, who would celebrate such a heinous, murderous offense? I tremble to think of those who celebrate: on the day they face their personal judgment there will be no celebration! Bestow on them, O Holy Spirit, repentance and contrition before death seals their fate; and purify my heart as well!

This was started yesterday! We got one days notice. I sent the note in, saying my weegirl wasn't to attend. I also phoned in. She was the only one to sit it out. She was sat to one side and given a page to draw on. She heard it all. She's 7! Now, when I asked her about it, she said she felt left out. I told her that to be faithful to Jesus, this would happen more and more as she got older. I asked her had she heard what was said. She said that they were told, by the substitute teacher, that God created the earth. But that he didn't do it in 7 days. That's all she could remember, thankfully. This is a thin end of a wedge.
Ditto, my husband and myself also homeschooled our children and they too have their various degrees. To think we believed the world was morally sinking then.
Just a few years ago NYC was celebrating the passing of full term abortion. They lit up the Empire State Building and reveled. Now they are covered in smoke. Canada is very liberal and now it is burning. A picture tells a thousand words.
Our family homeschooled as well. Youngest just graduated in a degree in Catholic studies. It's worth the sacrifice and effort.

I honestly believe something is up with all the fires.... I have always had some bronchial issues. But the last two months I have had a lot of breathing problems. I have been diagnosed with chronic bronchitis and on daily puffers. I am in the maritimes and smell the smoke, but it's not very visible here. Ottawa and Toronto has gotten it worse. I cant imagine what July and August will bring. I believe the west is being fooled by many things we are being told via media etc. I have noticed an increase in agenda flags in all stores here. I cant say more then that on media, but Christians in the west are in for hard times. Praying and fasting... As for schools, they are not somewhere I would send my children anymore. Same here as anywhere.
Just an fyi for those of you still with electric and circulating air furnaces. You can get an attachment to put in your furnace ductwork called a remi halo. We learned about them down south because it kills mold and mildew. It also removes smoke, dust, virus’, pollen etc. We had one installed up here, they are a bit pricey but well worth it. If you are a handyman they are on Amazon. Really helps my asthma.
We are in Code Purple Air Quality in DC and Maryland. I have never in my life experienced such a thing. I’ve lived in Maryland since 1950. This is definitely apocalyptic. The final stage after this is Code Maroon. God help us. I went to church to confess today and the smoke was so thick over the river that the surface was almost invisible. It looked like dense fog. It’s frightening. I feel unwell but I’m still breathing, thank God.
That sounds very scary. Is that all coming from us in Canada? Maybe get a N95 mask for a bit. Very serious times. Praying for you and all.
