What comes to mind concerning the above is when Gandalf turns on the bridge and challenges the flaming Balrog with the words, "You shall not pass!"
"Yahweh is slow to anger but great in power, Yahweh never lets evil go unpunished. In storm and whirlwind he takes his way, the clouds are the dust stirred up by his feet." - Nahum 1:3
Most definitely not like the humble folk of 70 years+ who climb the mountain in their bare feet even if its a snowstorm, but then thats the very reason why Ireland still has hope
I see this morning that the perverts have apologised for their attempted stunt on Croke Patrick. I reckoned it would back-fire bigly on them. Maybe they're not feeling so proud if their USAID has dried up.
I see christina gallagher was on the paper today caught on the slot machines.will her remaining followers stay with her.?
It appears she has been caught red handed. Fake visionary Christina Gallagher gambling ‘hand over fist’ at Dublin casino - SundayWorld.com
As a rule I would not put too much store by a rag like the Sunday World. But there are some things one cannot ignore. I had intended going to Achill to check out the House of Prayer - but I'm afraid this looks really bad for Christina ...
Thank you for posting this. Her messages and mission didn't interest me, but all the people deceived by her and drained of their donations is a heartbreak. I read the article from SundayWorld. They wrote of a picture that Christina claimed was anointed to protect during a chastisement ...hopefully she will state that she deceived people and sell off all the trappings that she acquired from people's donations and pay them back.
Well I never really believed in Christina although I know many did and do. However I don't see any harm in the woman having the odd gamble. I love the odd gamble myself every now and then when the notion takes me. The article suggests that the Church teaches that gambling is a sin. But it does not. I bet a 1000 on Donald Trump winning the Presidential Election and he did, though it nearly wrecked my nerves. I remember we had a lovely Parish Priest called Fr Stewart, years ago, who owned six race horses. Parishioners were always asking him for tips for the horses. Many a Church was built from Bingo. The Church warns us about over gambling, when it hurts other people, not about sensible gambling if we do not go mad at it. The Catechism of the Catholic Church, No. 2413, has the following to say on gambling: "Games of chance (card games, etc.) or wagers are not in themselves contrary to justice. They become morally unacceptable when they deprive someone of what is necessary to provide for his needs and those of others.
It looks very bad. If there is complete transparency on donations and money made through the House of Prayer this could be viewed as a personal weakness. I don't believe there is any transparency there. God help her if she is living a deception.
As Padraig said, a flutter isn't sinful per se. Backing horses is often more a social or hobby thing as much for the money and provides much harmless joy for most participants. However, one could easily get addicted to these lonely, isolating machines and many do. That, in itself, might not be a problem, except for the person herself. The problems would begin if she was funding her gambling from people's donations rather than from her own personal income.
I don't know anything at all about Christina Gallagher. But I know the Sunday World is worse than a rag. It is almost pornographic. Its reports and stories are sensational and very anti-Christian. I wouldn't allow it in the house. As for gambling, I play cards every single Friday night in life. I'm on holiday here in Spain as we speak, and, as is normal, I played (on-line, with the same group of lads for years) Friday night just passed.. my wife would be in shock if I didn't! And I bet every weekend on my football teams. Father Ripperger spoke about gambling once; he said everything in moderation. As long as it isn't sinful, is merely a hobby and doesn't affect anything of great matter; then there is nothing to be said against it. Obviously ye get the nutjobs that would gamble the family silver, but that's different gravy.
Money and apparitions don't match. For instance over 90% of the holy shops in Lourdes are owned by Jews. She should never have went near money. Poor woman, she might be entirely innocent. But it is important not only to be innocent but to be seen to be innocent. If she never got involved in money then she would have saved herself all this.
To publicly claim to be gifted by God in a certain manner makes one a target of JoeJerk. Whether it be a visionary, cleric, or Pope -to remain in a state of grace and pursuing holiness for God's glory is so necessary.May this public shame, even if exaggerated, turn Christina to the Two Hearts evermore closely!
