Padraig I know you are an avid reader and are always looking for a quick interesting read- I just finished the book "Anneliese Michel - A true story of a case of demonic possession " occurring in Germany in 1975. This book touches on how this case changed aspects of how exorcisms were performed in Germany, Anneliese's acceptance of suffering for the salvation of souls, and an interesting portion of supposed conversations with the priests and demons taped recorded in which the demons answer the priests questions abut a variety of church topics. I read it from mystics of the church reccomendation.
And Glen Dalliere- did you find any info out on Barbar Weigman whos name is mentioned throughout the book? or Eucharistic League of Love?
"in which the demons answer the priests questions about a variety of church topics." That's certainly a dangerous road to go down though, as Padraig was mentioning on another thread.
I used to belive years ago that God would never permit the devil to kill anyone..unless perhpas they had beenw icked, say, Satanists. But that God would never allow the devil to kill a good person. But I have had to change my mind on that. Annaliese is one case in point another is, Blessed Maria Bolgnessi http://www.mysticsofthechurch.com/2014/01/blessed-maria-bolognesi-mystic-who.html It just goes to show , we set limits to God , He sets no limits to Himself. I assume then if the demons were permitted to kill these two ladies as victim souls there must be others.
I don't doubt that either Padraig. In one of the books on Maria Simma, she describes a case of a holy priest who accepted to be killed by Satan in order to save souls. He left a note in his pocket, which Maria confirmed via the Holy Souls.
Of course SB- one cannot believe any of it safely- just a part of the book to be taken with much salt so to speak. Never to be seeked out or relied on.-
There is a case in the Bible were a husband and wife were struck dead, this possibly was the devil: I am not sure. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ananias_and_Sapphira
