"At the Memento, She recommended the priest to ask more. There is great store, and still greater to be given." "The Blessed Virgin foretold the War. She spoke to me very maternally, about my childhood, founded the pilgrimage of Our Lady of the Woodland; told me She wanted a new congregation. With great energy She condemned modernism, treated of several different matters, defending me from Lucifer." "She was dressed in a deep blue gown, with Her white veil, the sleeves gathered in at the wrists, and bare feet. The neckline of Her dress is just below the chin. The gown is ample and quite simple. But anything She wore would be equally becoming. Her proportions are perfect. Everything in Her is perfect. Her eyes are very changeable; they can take all the colours, but there is one settled colour all the same. When She lived on earth they were neither brown nor altogether blue. Rather periwinkle. Her ears are visible. So is the start of the hair on the forehead. In the same way you can see the plaits of hair at the side. The only statue resembling her in the least is the one (Rue du Bac, above the entrance door of the Ladies of Charity), where She is giving an audience to Catherine Laboure, That has the face, just as long, but She has not that forehead. She looks too young in that statue, and yet you cannot make Her old. I have never been able to tell Her age. The Virgin is very dark. (' I am black, but comely.') Her demeanour is very simple. She seldom inclines Her head but looks you straight in the face, just like Her Divine Son, but you feel that beyond, how Their gaze pierces into the entire world." "When the Blessed Virgin speaks as a mother, She wears a crown made from a spray of roses, of lilies, and of daisies, with a silver band, quite narrow, at a third of the height. These flowery sprays are arranged like the fingers; a white rose, almost open, a single lily, almost open, and a daisy. Naturally, these flowers often repeated, form a circle. As for the green branches at the base of the crown, they are very sober in colour. It is a bell-shaped crown. You could pass your hand between Her crown and the veil on Her head. But when She condemned modernism, She wore a crown of matchless beauty. If the crown of flowers can be copied, the other one, the great one, cannot be even dreamed. It is made up of clusters of jewels and light. The jewels are very fine, small for the most part and a few large. They are harmoniously arranged like the grains in a ear of corn, with sparkling lights inset between the stones and throwing them into relief. There are blue stones, some red, some violet but less numerous than the blue. Amongst the most beautiful are the pale blue stones. I am almost sorry I didn't ask Her for one. Of those stones, some hang and others cluster. There is quite a play of lights, some outside and some inside the crown. It is like a diadem, rising in the middle. All that I have seen in the museum look like cobble work beside a finely finished shoe. There is no crown on earth like that. She wears it when She speaks as a sovereign Lady. She is majestic. She wore it without the glory, or else She would be frightening and She does not come to frighten." "After the Credo, She spoke of the War in very sorrowful tones. 'It will be slow to kindle. It will set all Europe on fire. It will set the world on fire. There will be about five millions killed, but (turning towards Lucifer) I shall save many in spite of you.' The fiend said, ' They'll pass through the gorge of the Vosges.' The Blessed Virgin, 'No, no, they will pass through Belgium.' Satan said, ' They are just as guilty on one side as the other.' Satan understands guilt very well. The Blessed Virgin half turned towards me and the bottom half of the church filled with a white cloud which opened. The wall disappeared and then I saw there a town with a mighty river. I think it is Belgrade. I saw the pictures of the War. I had a curious sensation. I felt quite well that I was in the church, but I was also transported far away. I cannot exactly reckon the thing up. I have perfectly reckoned up the favour the Blessed Virgin was doing me by showing me those countries. She brought me through an immense landscape. I am giving you very incomplete explanations but I cannot find words for these things. I saw ships of war with enormous funnels. I saw the landscapes, but later on I took awful trouble to place them and that wasn't possible at all. You see the great rivers, mountains, sea. How place them on the maps? All is not over. There are scenes which I did not see unfold. The best for you just now is to keep quiet." "The Priest recommended his Parish to the Blessed Virgin. The Blessed Virgin protected it in a special way during the War, especially on the day of the explosion. She looked at me very steadily; 'While he is alive, the Germans will not pass this way-at Le Pailly.' After a little silence She added, 'Even after his death. That is his cradle, the village where he was born. J shall be the Proteetoress of those lands! ' Just then the pictures of the War left off and the wood came on the scene. They have nothing in those countries, nothing ….no pilgrimage. Lucifer said to Her, ‘You are already called Our Lady of Lourdes; you are going to call yourself Our Lady of the Woodlands.' She turned Her head lightly. I followed the direction and She showed me a shanty. I saw the shanty, I saw the little statue; perhaps She shows it because of its gestures. The Virgin (it is awkward and badly done) spreads Her cloak to protect us and the Child is blessing the earth on which there is no cross. Just at this moment, She stood aside a bit to let the boy with the book pass."
I notice also that the devil is present at the Apparition at Grey. Personally I believe the devil is also present at every mass as well. Up to the point of the consecration when he flees. This is in fulfillment of the Scriptural promise. Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel." So where we find Mary we will always find the devil tagging along behind like some old black dog, his wicked old tail between his legs. The saintly Benedictine Fr Poll of Moll mentions one time having a vision of the Virgin and after a large group of demons followed after her clothed in Medieval armour. Its a bit like ham and eggs you never the one without the other. Blessed Mary of Agreda on the Passion of Christ comments that the devils all gathered at Calvary never expecting that Christ would really die. That they were expecting Him to give into temptation and use His power to destroy those who hurt Him and become a Great King. The concept of Lamb of God just didn't enter their demonic heads. So they are left to endlessly at each sacrifice of the Mass to live out their greatest defeat, dragged their in chains over and over to get their faces pushed in the muck, so to speak. I put this in human terms of course. But it is a bit like and Eternal Magic Roundabout which , once having jumped on you can never jump off again. Lucifer jumped on the Eternal Roundabout on Calvary and round and round he will go to the Last Judgement with each mass. So too will Mary. The one in Eternal Victory the other in Eternal Defeat.
Wow thanks for that Padraig! I wish I could see her. I saw her briefly when I was 6 years old in my bedroom. I called for my mother to come see the beautiful lady, and of course she could not see anything. She hauled me to the Priest who told me it was all in my head, so of course that pretty much shut me up.
Well its something to look forward to in heaven then Carmel. Quite something. Priests have sometimes asked me what Mary looked like. I told one that if I died and went to heaven and was only allowed to see Mary once every hundred years through a pair of binoculars a hundred miles away from the very back seats of heaven I would be the happiest person in heaven . She is as lovely as that. To die for. Utterly gorgeous. There just aren't any words, if all the artists and all the poets and all the writers in all the world got together to try to describe her they couldn't even do her shadow. I can see why the Archangel Gabriel called her 'Full of grace' and showed her such profound respect when he when to visit..and recall he was one of the seven Spirits standing right before the very throne of God. So if he was knocked out.... Yes you have quite something to look forward too ; believe me.
I saw Jesus twice, and WOW WOW WOW!!! I never wanted to do anything but look at Him. SO beautiful and SO manly. Very much a King and a Warrior. I cannot find any pictures that match Him, even that little girl artist who is so talented. Some of hers are somewhat close, but I guess part of their looks are supernatural so their features could probably never be duplicated with any earthly medium. I do have one "trick" to see His face, and wondering if this works for anyone else? If I stare at the Holy Face Shroud of Turin long enough, and direct all my will toward Him with all the love in my heart, suddenly the beat up face on the Shroud will transform into His beautiful face for a few seconds. It's my favorite "devotion" to do.
When praying luisa piccarreta's 24 hours of the passion, in the Divine Will, you are there during the passion. it is so powerful.
Hi Carmel 333, I loved what you shared about your locution from Our Lord about wearing the veil. I've been wearing one at every Mass (really anytime I step into church) for almost nine years. I was worried about the initial stares, and even some glares, I received from other women (not once from any men that I remember), but from the beginning I just decided that I would try to focus on what Jesus thinks of me rather than what anyone else thinks. I'm doing it out of love and respect for Him and I can certainly endure a little humiliation from time to time (it still happens occasionally) after what He did for me during His Passion. Thanks again for sharing... I believe someday the Church will reinstate the rule that ladies must cover their heads.
I was told, that the reason satan fell from heaven was due to his insane jealousy of the Blessed Virgin Mary! In the beginning, God had created His masterpiece but kept this hidden from the rest of His creation. As this masterpiece was so Holy, so Beautiful, so Magnificent that it was hidden in the depths of Gods unknowingness, where other mere creatures of God, could not see. When God revealed His hidden masterpiece, satan became enraged; he was not now, the greatest of all creatures! This jealously revealed his pride and from this pride, flowed his disobedience. God had revealed the perfection of His Image, the Most Blessed Virgin Mary. Since that revelation, satan has stalked the Virgin with his hatred and jealously. satan is obssessed with her purity, her humility and her obedience that he does not possess nor can he obtain. In fact the Blessed Virgin drives him mad and he lashes out on us because we are of Her race. Maybe this is the reason that when Our Lady appears, so also does satan. Because he is stalking her at the moment. Until the triumph of the Immacculate Heart? Or until he is bound in hell at the end of time?
Acutally this is the exact description of things given by Venerable Mary of Agreda in her book, 'Mystical City of God'. (VOL1) Which you can read online: View attachment 3229 http://www.ecatholic2000.com/agreda/mystical/city.shtml
Book 1, Chapter 3 CREATION OF THE ANGELS AND THE FALL OF LUCIFER The Cause of all causes is God, who created all things that have being. His powerful arm gave existence to all his wonderful works ad extra when and how He chose. The beginning and succession of the work of Creation is described by Moses in the opening chapter of Genesis. Since the Lord has given me an understanding thereof, I will mention what I think useful for elucidating the mysterious origin of the Incarnation of the Word and of our Redemption. The words of the first chapter of Genesis are as follows: 1.”In the beginning God created heaven and earth.” 2.”And the earth was void and empty, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the spirit of God moved over the waters.” 3.”And God said: Be light made. And light was made.” 4.”And God saw the light that it was good; and be divided the light from the darkness.” 5. “And he called the light day, and the darkness night; and there was evening and morning one day,” etc. Of the first day Moses says that “In the beginning God created heaven and earth.” He created heaven for angels and men; and the earth as a place of pilgrimage for mortals. These places are so adapted to their end and so perfect, that as David says of them, the heavens publish the glory of the Lord, the firmament and the earth announce the glory of the work of his hands (Ps. 18, 2). The angels were created in the empyrean heavens and in the state of grace by which they might be first to merit the reward of glory. For although they were in the midst of glory, the Divinity itself was not to be made manifest to them face to face and unveiled, until they should have merited such a favor by obeying the divine will. The holy angels, as well as the bad ones, remained only a very short time in the state of probation; for their creation and probation with its result were three distinct instants or moments, separated by short intermissions. In the first instant they were all created and endowed with graces and gifts, coming into existence as most beautiful and perfect creatures. Then followed a short pause, during which the will of the Creator was propounded and intimated, and the law and command was given to them, to acknowledge Him as their Maker and supreme Lord, and to fulfill the end for which they have been created. During this pause, instant or interval, Saint Michael and his angels fought that great battle with the dragon and his followers, which is described by the apostle Saint John in the twelfth chapter of the Apocalypse. The good angels, persevering in grace, merited eternal happiness and the disobedient ones, rebelling against God, merited the punishment, which they now suffer. At first they received a more explicit intelligence of the being of God, one in substance, trine in person, and that they were commanded to adore and reverence Him as their Creator and highest Lord, infinite in his essence and attributes. All subjected themselves to this command and obeyed it, but with a certain difference; the good angels obeyed through love and on account of the justice of it, offering their love and good will, freely and admitting and believing what was above their intelligence, and obeying with joy. Lucifer, on the other hand, submitted himself, because the opposite seemed to him impossible. He did not do it with perfect charity, for he, as it were, was divided in his will between himself and the infallible truth of the Lord. In consequence it happened that the precept appeared to him in a measure difficult and violent, and his fulfilling of it was wanting in love and in the desire to do justice. Thus he exposed himself beforehand to the danger of not persevering. Although grace did not leave him on account of this remissness and slowness in the accomplishment of these first acts, nevertheless his bad disposition began with them; for there remained with him a certain weakness and laxity of virtue and spirit, and the perfection of his nature did not shine forth as it should. It appears to me that the effect of this remissness in Lucifer, is similar to that which is caused in the soul by a deliberate venial sin. I do not say that he sinned mortally, nor even venially at that time, since he fulfilled the precept of God; but this fulfillment was remiss and imperfect, springing more from a sense of overwhelming compulsion, than from a loving willingness to obey. Thus he put himself in danger of falling.
In the second place, the angels were informed that God was to create a human nature and reasoning creatures lower than themselves, in order that they too should love, fear and reverence God, as their Author and eternal Good. They were informed that these were to stand in high favor, and that the second Person of the blessed Trinity was to become incarnate and assume their nature, raising it to the hypostatic union and to divine Personality; that therefore they were to acknowledge Him as their Head, not only as God, but as God and man, adoring Him and reverencing Him as God–man. Moreover, these same angels were to be his inferiors in dignity and grace and were to be his servants. God gave them an intelligence of the propriety and equity, of the justice and reasonableness of such a position. For the acceptation of the merits foreseen of this Mangod was exhibited to them as the source of the grace which they now possessed and of the glory which they were to obtain. They understood also that they themselves had been, and all the rest of the creatures should be created for his glory, and that He was to be their Head. All those that were capable of knowing and enjoying God, were to be the people of the Son of God, to know and reverence Him as their Chief. These commands were at once given to the angels. To this command all the obedient and holy angels submitted themselves and they gave their full assent and acknowledgment with an humble and loving subjection of the will. But Lucifer, full of envy and pride, resisted and induced his followers to resist likewise, as they in reality did, preferring to follow him and disobey the divine command. This wicked prince persuaded them, that he would be their chief and that he would set up a government independent and separate from Christ. So great was the blindness which envy and pride could cause in an angel, and so pernicious was the infection that the contagion of sin spread among innumerable other angels. Then happened that great battle in heaven, which St. John describes (Apoc. 12). For the obedient and holy angels, filled with an ardent desire of hastening the glory of the Most High and the honor of the incarnate Word, to resist and contradict the dragon, and the permission was granted. But also another mystery was concealed in all this: When it was revealed to the angels that they would have to obey the incarnate Word, another, a third precept was given them, namely, that they were to admit as a superior conjointly with Him, a Woman, in whose womb the Only begotten of the Father was to assume flesh and that this Woman was to be the Queen and Mistress of all the creatures. The good angels by obeying this command of the Lord, with still increasing and more alert humility, freely subjected themselves, praising the power and the mysteries of the Most High. Lucifer, however, and his confederates, rose to a higher pitch of pride and boastful insolence. In disorderly fury he aspired to be himself the head of all the human race and of the angelic orders, and if there was to be a hypostatic union, he demanded that it be consummated in him. The decree constituting him inferior to the Mother of the Incarnate Word, our Mistress, he opposed with horrible blasphemies. Turning against the Author of these great wonders in unbridled indignation and calling upon the other angels, he exhorted them, saying: “Unjust are these commands and injury is done to my greatness; this human nature which Thou, Lord, lookest upon with so much love and which thou favorest so highly, I will persecute and destroy. To this end I will direct all my power and all my aspirations. And this Woman, Mother of the Word, I will hurl from the position in which Thou hast proposed to place Her, and at my hands, the plan, which Thou settest up, shall come to naught.” This proud boast so aroused the indignation of the Lord that in order to humble it, He spoke to Lucifer: “This Woman whom thou refusest to honor, shall crush thy head and by Her shalt thou be vanquished and annihilated (Gen. 3, 15). And if, through thy pride, death enters into the world (Wis. 2, 24), life and salvation of mortals shall enter through the humility of this Woman. Those that are of the nature and likeness of that Man and Woman, shall enjoy the gifts and the crowns, which thou and thy followers have lost.” To all this the dragon, filled with indignation against whatever he understood of the divine will and decrees, answered only with pride and by threatening destruction to the whole human race. The good angels saw the just indignation of the Most High against Lucifer and his apostates and they combated them with the arms of the understanding, reason and truth. The Almighty at this conjuncture worked another wonderful mystery. Having given to all the angels a sufficiently clear intelligence of the hypostatic Union, He showed them the image of the most holy Virgin by means of an imaginary vision (I speak here according to our way of understanding such things). They were shown the perfection of the human nature in the revelation of an image representing a most perfect Woman, in whom the almighty arm of the Most High would work more wonderfully than in all the rest of the creatures. For therein He was to deposit the graces and gifts of his right hand in a higher and more eminent manner. This sign or vision of the Queen of heaven and of the Mother of the incarnate Word was made known and manifest to all the angels, good and bad. The good ones at the sign of it broke forth in admiration and in canticles of praise and from that time on began to defend the honor of the God incarnate and of his holy Mother, being armed with ardent zeal and with the invincible shield of that vision. The dragon and his allies on the contrary conceived implacable hatred and fury against Christ and his most holy Mother. Then happened all that which is described in the twelfth chapter of the Apocalypse, which I will explain, as far as it has been given me.
You are so well read Padraig! I did not know that this was revealed to the Venerable Mary of Agreda! nor to anyone. In fact I have, on the rare occasions that I reveal what God has told me, been met with scorn and as I am so little, as a person, and one who is such a sinner, I cannot ever doubt the judgements of these others. However, it never removes what God reveals to me. It just makes me abhor my sinfulness even more. Thank you for revealing to me that a venerable has recieved the same insight. I am very humbled. God bless. Carolyn
I have my own theory that everyone who is born and is predestinate to heaven is meant to take over the seat in heaven formerly occupied by a demon thrust into hell. So the legend went that St Francis, because of his humility was meant to take over the throne of Satan. But not so. I think aStans Throne was occupied by the Mother of God. Which is one of the reasons why he is so furious at her. She stole his limelight, so to speak. But as well as that for all souls who are headed for heaven, I believe the demon whose seat we are supposed to take opposes us through life. Thus if we are meant for one of the higher seats we get a higher demon in the boxing ring of life with us. If we are destined to gain a lower seat we are faced by a lower demon who owned that seat once and so on.. In the same wat the angel guardian (s) who are given us is not given by accident. The angel we are given is from the same choir, the adjacent seat in fact of the choir we are meant for in heaven. In other words the angel guarding us is of the same rank as the demon who opposes us. If you see what I mean. Anyway you can see something of this in the vocation story/dream of Padre Pio. By the way this means our angel guardians will be with us as friends for Eternity, we being next door neighbours. It also means that ourselves and the demons opposing us, have, in a funny kind of way certain similiarities. We both coming from the same neighbourhood, so to speak. http://infallible-catholic.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/padre-pios-triumph-over-devil.html
That is so interesting! I have always believed, because of different events in my life and because of different spiritual occurances, that I am a person who has been endowed with, or I am supposed to be empowered with, 'the spirit of truth'! However, even though I love truth, I find it so hard to be the voice of truth in my work, where I am opposed and where I seem to cave, in the sence that I do not insist on my belief but will bow to the overwhelming thought of the majority, in situations of no consequence. But soon the consequences will be of moral importance! I feel the opposition! This enity is very intelligent, in regards to the truth. That is; he knows what can be used in defence of an untruth that will suffice as truth, as seem perfectly acceptable to all in our society. The battle is going to be very hard, especially as the world now believes, that evil is good and good is evil. I know the Lord is now preparing me to fight the battle where truth may be seen as an untruth, so this fallen angel seems to have the upper hand at the moment. So my guardian angel and I, will have to have our wits about us! However I leave all to the Holy Spirit and so does my guardian angel, and this is our strength.
I would like to stress this as well. What I have understood through reading, etc. is that in a mystical way, we are all brought to Calvary at the mass. We are all united at the actual sacrifice of the cross in a real way. Mary was there at the foot of the cross and we are too. So in a mystical way there is only one Mass, not many. We are just at that moment "joining" with the actual Mass or sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross.
I agree with you and so do many so that thought is not alone. There is, was and always will be only one mass and we are all there. Here is Father John Riccardo speaking on the mass.
gr8 thread! ...back to the veil for a moment... I know that Orthodox Jewish women wear wigs to cover the commandment to cover their hair before God. I think it also says somewhere in the OT that their hair is their glory, and woman are to cover it before God, or cut it off. So short hair might be ok uncovered.
