Padraig, Pope Francis has called himself a sinner so he falls into the "awful" category. He is likeable but that is not what Archbishop Fulton Sheen is talking about, in addition, didn't you post something about how this is the most misinterpreted lesson from the bible? (He who hath no sin be the first to cast the first stone. - BTW, I don't agree that it is misinterpreted.)
I like the way that Archbishop Fulton Sheen states that we will be surprised at who we will see in heaven. That is what some here are trying to say, this is exactly what Pope Francis is trying to remind us of.

Keep praying Padraig. WWJD. Stay away from those spin doctors on that website. Confusion is bad but is not heresy.

I guess it depends what priest you might go to and which Pope you might be talking about.:)

Some of them might like to box your ears for you, some of them might like to hang a medal on your chest.

    Depends. :D;)

    Doctors differ , patients die.:)

Yes, it can as our Catechism details in the link below, I copied a bit of it too that I think is key. But only God knows what is truly in each of our hearts and I think that's a big difference between mortal and venial sin.

In regards to Padraig and some others on here that constantly attack our Pope and are worried and upset about things he says, and now that is also spreading to others like Charlie Johnston, Mark Mallett etc. I believe that those attacking them truly believe they are right and are trying to do good to point out what they think are problems, that they are not intentionally bearing false witness. I think it's skinny legs putting these thoughts in their head. It makes sense to me that since we are on the precipice of entering the worst crisis in history and Stan's 100 years are almost up, that he's trying to do all he can to disrupt and create confusion. It's helpful to me to remember that if you are losing peace and are anxious and uptight about something, that loss of peace and angst does not come from heaven, but is skinny legs putting these thoughts in the head.

I'm also not upset or angry at Padraig or the others, instead I'm concerned for them and have been praying my daily rosaries for their intentions, as I think they are under attack. And guess what, if skinny legs is after you, you are a difference maker. If Padraig and the others weren't difference makers, he'd leave them alone so we need to keep lifting each other up in prayer and remember we are all on the same team and not let Stan create the schisms he needs to defeat the Church. Prayer. Prayer. Prayer.

2476 False witness and perjury. When it is made publicly, a statement contrary to the truth takes on a particular gravity. In court it becomes false witness.276 When it is under oath, it is perjury. Acts such as these contribute to condemnation of the innocent, exoneration of the guilty, or the increased punishment of the accused.277 They gravely compromise the exercise of justice and the fairness of judicial decisions.

2477 Respect for the reputation of persons forbids every attitude and word likely to cause them unjust injury.278 He becomes guilty:

    - of rash judgment who, even tacitly, assumes as true, without sufficient foundation, the moral fault of a neighbor;

    - of detraction who, without objectively valid reason, discloses another's faults and failings to persons who did not know them;279

    - of calumny who, by remarks contrary to the truth, harms the reputation of others and gives occasion for false judgments concerning them.

2478 To avoid rash judgment, everyone should be careful to interpret insofar as possible his neighbor's thoughts, words, and deeds in a favorable way:

Every good Christian ought to be more ready to give a favorable interpretation to another's statement than to condemn it. But if he cannot do so, let him ask how the other understands it. And if the latter understands it badly, let the former correct him with love. If that does not suffice, let the Christian try all suitable ways to bring the other to a correct interpretation so that he may be saved.280
2479 Detraction and calumny destroy the reputation and honor of one's neighbor. Honor is the social witness given to human dignity, and everyone enjoys a natural right to the honor of his name and reputation and to respect. Thus, detraction and calumny offend against the virtues of justice and charity.

I think Jimmy Akin has a nice website to refer to on Pope Francis, he seems honest and he is not condemning the Pope nor is he agreeing with everything either.

For all you apologists, the pope is into mercy (I hope we all are!), but what does global warming have to do with our faith? It is a theory, unproven. It is garbage! A globalist/modernist theory if there ever was one.

Personally it seems like a sifting is going on of some sort. Jesus confronted the lawyers and the scribes when he was alive and faced hostility and disbelief, perhaps Pope Francis has the same objective.

Without any opinions,or examples of his verbal misques, can anyone show me where the Pope has altered any of our Catholic doctrine or beliefs, or instituted false teachings ? I didn't see any come out of the last Synod . I understand he is more liberal and open minded than some people care for, BUT our Papal OBEDIENCE is based on the teachings of our faith and doctrine being upheld, and I have not seen any changed. Please show me "concrete written examples " where he has changed the Catholic faith.

What? Like claiming the vast majority of marriages are invalid, while claiming cohabitation can show real fidelity and constitute a grace conferring marital sacrament? Or that a person may use contraceptives if they MIGHT have a REMOTE fear of conceiving a child with Zika virus, which MIGHT rarely cause anencephaly (making eugenics once again in vogue, apparently)?

Oh, it's not in writing, so we don't have to worry about it?

    Right.

AL was in writing, it's magisterial, but there's no "heresy" there?

Right. Folks might be surprised what transpires as a result of the "heresy free" AL.

The OBEDIANCE charge is false, as has been already pointed out. It is not disobedience or a violation of obedience to point out error where it exists. It is sophomoric to insist otherwise.
