Thanks for the recommendation. I do think it's a mild case. The itching has been bearable.. Right now the worst of it is a particularly inflamed lymph node in my neck that really feels like it just wants to break out of my neck, the pressure is so strong and painful. I have sensitivity radiating out from the rash...over my shoulder, right side of my chest, face and ear...but it truly is bearable. Its funny trying to think of this as a gift...that hopefully God is using for His good purposes. My husband and I prayed a novena to Our Lady of Good Success, and one of our intentions was for our family to finally get over all the sicknesses for a bit. Well, my rash developed ON the feast day of Our Lady of Good Success, the last day of our novena. So clearly Mary wanted to gift me with this. I'm hoping it's to aid in obtaining the other things we asked for, such as conversions of some of our family members, and a growth in virtue within our immediate family.
Praying you have a mild case PF. My friend had a bout and her doc put her on a med that cleared up it quickly. And your right, it’s sure no fun when you and the kiddies are all sick. I’ll add you and our other members son having surgery to the prayer list. blessings…
A few months back my wife went through this scare she had to get the varicella antibody test to see if it was shingles /chicken pox. It turned out to be a bad case of getting bit by chiggers. Still quite painful. Praying for you PF and your family

PF..She most assuredly did gift you with your "special" cross!!...too much of a coincidence for it not to have come from her hand. Brings to mind the story about St Teresa when she fell off a horse into the mud. She heard Jesus say to her, “This is how I treat my friends,” to which she replied,“If this is how You treat your friends, it is no wonder You have so few! .
Yes I think of this often! I just read in my book about Padre Pio a couple days ago that he often would say, "All have their cross. All ask that it be taken away. But if they only knew how precious they were, they'd be asking for them!"
I will pray for you and the family, PF. I'm always on edge when either my husband or the kids fall ill. As you said, not fun.
Ill pray PF. Shingles is not nice bt PG you will shake it off quickly. You are a young woman so you should be able to get over it quickly. Try not to worry anxiety never helps. Ill pray
Prayers! I've had it four times now, and the Anti Viral meds they gave me helped a lot. I managed to work throughout it, and my scariest symptom was muscle spasms in my side that the rash was on. A guy I worked with was very nervous of catching it from me, and we called my doctor and had a phone conference with him. Shingles is not contagious. Chicken Pox is contagious. So I would talk to your doctor about your concerns. Unfortunately once you get it, it can return like for me. I only get it after my surgeries, like a Post Op thing. I usually just offer it up to Jesus and try to take care of myself as best I can. I pray you are one the meds work for. My horse farrier had it for months and the meds didn't work for him. He was only 35 and healthy otherwise.
Its a capricious virus for sure. I've had it twice. First time in my 20"d brought on by stress. Second time a few years back also brought on by stress. The second case cleared up very quickly. Almost immediately.
PF, I had shingles last year. I went to urgent care as soon as I knew that something was going on. Doctor told me it was shingles and got me on anti viral drug. The meds worked and cleared up the shingles. I was also told it was not contagious as long as you're on this anti viral drug but he did told me as an extra precaution is to stay away from young babies and the elderly. Prayers sent up for you. Other...About a month and half ago, I contracted Bell's Palsy on left side of my face. I'm un-vaxxed. Not sure exactly how I got this Bell's palsy but both my doctor and I felt that it may be contracted from when my daughter's cold sore broke out and that contagious virus released...it was that certain type of cold sore's virus that could have caused my onset of Bell's palsy. But in back of my mind; I often wondered if it was possibly from being around recently vaccinated person(s) that may have shedded vaccine's spike proteins which may have given me Bell's palsy? I guess I'll never know for sure. Anyhow, I was given and put on 2 prednisone treatments and anti viral drug which helped me to heal tremendously. I went to a healing Mass service a week ago; I feel much more better now. Bell's palsy could last up to about 3 to 6 months long. Praise God that my case was shortened. I did sparingly, here and there, of taking the vitamin "I" doses. Before the onset of Bell's palsy; I was also taking (& still am currently) the stuff like: vitamin D3, zinc, vitamin C, quercetin, etc. Again, I will pray for you, PF. P.S. Even though, I have read the many posts but haven't responded; I have always included in my rosaries for everyone on MofG forum for their prayer requests/intentions and various kinds of illnesses. I trust in Him and Mother Mary that they're listening and all prayers are being heard.
Thank you for including us all . I include you all as well. Purple Flower I still pray to St. Philomena every day for you and Joseph and your family. Can I ask for prayers also for my son who is doing better but is at a crosswords and May be in line for a better line of work. He has made wonderful progress and please ask God to Bless him and keep him clean and sober. It is prayer that brought him this far. I hope I am not highjacking your tread.
