Ha, ha, he didn't have a patch on one eye did he? By the way, I have one at home just like that. The Macaw that is.
The friend I met up with at Ave Maria graduated there and now manages their book store. He took me to see their church and Adoration chapel, where of course I brought all of you to Him: Largest crucifix I’ve ever seen!
I just pulled in to my hotel in Fort Myers. It was a great day but a very long one in the saddle. It wouldn’t be a Florida trip without at least seeing the ocean, so my friend Shawn took me to see the Gulf at Everglades City:
I’m at a Waffle House in Fort Myers. The Cracker Barrel next door was so busy it would have been a half hour at least just to get seated. There was a waiting line at the Waffle House. And a guy taking names for seating! I’ve been to Waffle Houses literally across the country and this is the first time I’ve seen this. He asked two of us who are alone if we would be willing to share a booth. So I’m sitting here in a booth with a Hispanic gentleman who doesn’t speak English and just ordered a T bone steak with his breakfast.
