Miss you, FP. My wonderful wife (Geralyn) and I were down in Georgia (a visit with Fr. Patrick), but our calendar was tight. I prayed for you as we left Cumming and headed up to Otto, NC, to visit my brother, Mike, and his wife Isobel. Then we scurried north to visit my younger daughter, Therese, and her family. Fortunately, Fr. Benjamin will be up for Christmas. I was saddened this week: Fr. Benjamin and Fr. Patrick are getting together in Houston to do a 5-day stretch of spiritual exercises at the beginning of January; they invited me to make it a threesome, but I can't swing it. What to do with a far-flung family?
Just catching up here. What an amazing trip. Brian this was an act of faith and you are being mightily blessed and you are a mighty blessing to all you meet on your journey. I just love FP grotto and the beautiful scenery. I pray for a safe return journey.
My friend Bill took me to morning mass at his parish, Blessed Trinity near Conway in Orlando this morning. Then we went to the BASILICA OF THE NATIONAL SHRINE OF MARY, QUEEN OF THE UNIVERSE:
The Basilica had a huge monstrance inside their Adoration Chapel. I brought everyone at MOG to Our Lord there this morning.
I’ve got my itinerary all laid out to be home by November 30. Looks like the weather is going to hold till then. Bill, my podiatry school friend here in Orlando, me and one other buddy, Joe, have all been trying to get together for three years now. None of us has seen each other in 30 years. Joe couldn’t join us this time in Orlando but Bill and I were sitting around talking about him this week. All I knew was that Joe had a house in both West Virginia and Georgia. Bill mentioned Joe was home in Dahlonega Georgia. I said, wait a minute, seems to me that’s not far from Fatima Pilgrim! I’m stopping back to spend the night with Tom on Monday on my way back north and Dahlonega Georgia is less than 30 minutes away. So I called Joe up and now we’re meeting for lunch in Dahlonega Tuesday. I love all these coincidences that are in reality God-Incidences!
Greetings all from the Everglades! I’ve ridden my Honda Silverwing almost 1,500 miles so far on this trip. It looks like total miles will be over 3,000 when I get home to Virginia. I just stopped at a little restaurant about 8 miles north of Ave Maria University for lunch and this was the scene:
Ah, Ave Maria University. Two of my children received their degrees from there! Brian, it looks like you've enjoyed your trip thoroughly! I'll continue my prayers for you!
